“Nice hotel but beds rock hard”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2014

Stayed here for 10 nights in July 2014. 3000 THB deposit to be paid upon check in.

Room very nice. Large and clean. Large bed, day bed, TV, Tea & coffee, mini bar, fridge, safe, hairdryer. If you want bedding for the day bed then you have to pay extra per night as they classed it as an extra bed however we had paid extra for a room with this bed in and think bedding should have been included. Also beds are so hard - I didnt get a full nights sleep and by the morning ached all over. We did ask reception for a mattress topper but never received one.

The bathroom is amazing - hugh shower and hugh stone tub with waterfall taps.

You get 2 bottles of water free each day.

Air-con not the best - took ages to get the room cold.

Pools are great. There are 4 pools in total. 2 x kids pool, 1 x large pool and a wrap around/stream pool. There are two swim up bars.

Wi fi is free and accessable all over the hotel you just need to get access codes from reception.

Breakfast is very good - Tea, Coffee, juice, egg bar, bacon, pancakes, toast, jams, danish pastry, asian food, cereal, fruit.

Lunch restaurant is by the pool and very convenient. Great food and resonable prices.

Dinner - the hotel has a buffet twice a week - 400thb adult and 200thb child. Wouldnt recommend the buffet as food not the best, not that much variety and over priced but they also have thai dancers who are very good. Probably better to get a drink at the bar and watch the dancing then go onto another restaurant after.

Location of hotel is great - 10 mins to the beach. In middle of the strip. Go out of hotel and turn left to the beach, shops and restaurants. Also go out the hotel and turn right for lots more bars, restaurants and shops and a starbucks.

Lobby is very pretty all lite up of a night time.

Staff in the hotel are very nice and friendly.

Also to the right of the hotel is Dino Park - brilliant crazy golf course set in a jungle setting with dinasours and a volcano - great for all ages.

Can get tuk tuks right outside of hotel - Everywhere we went it was 200thb.

All in all its a lovely hotel but the beds are very uncomfortable and at the end of the holiday even though we were sad to leave Phuket we couldnt wait to sleep in a comfortable bed.

Thank you very much for your feedback, your comments are very value for us for improving.
Actually, we can provide a topper to make softer bed, we will trace it out why your request wasn't responded as well as the air-con.

We stayed here just over two weeks and it didn't disappoint us. In our room was a beautiful plate of fresh bananas which where enjoyed with some Chang beer from the mini bar! We have stayed here a few times before and we always book the delux pool access room, lucky for us we seem to end up in the same room!! which is a bonus. The room is very large with four poster bed, daybed, beautiful large stone bath and separate rain shower. Your private balcony opposite the pool bar is great as you can swim across for that all important cocktail and enjoy it on your balcony! Kata beach is a short walk away although they do offer a free shuttle bus. The array of food in the restaurants is worth every penny. The mini bar is not at all expensive and gets restocked everyday. The staff are fantastic and very helpful nothing they can't sort out for you. We will be returning again.

Room Tip: Best rooms to book are the delux pool access.

We have visited Phuket on three occasions... And stayed at Kata Palm twice! In July this year we had the pleasure of staying in the deluxe pool villas.... Whilst we enjoyed our stay in 2011 on the 2nd floor..the pool villas are simply luxury! The privacy of having a private pool entry was superb! The staff are so obliging.....whilst they could battle a little in speaking English.... So obliging and so willing! The team at the pool bar were such fun!
Little touch we missed were the beautiful towel creations on our bed in the evenings....petals and all! Sure must be a cost saving exercise however was very special on trip one!
However, we will continue to recommend Kata Palm as the ideal venue in Phuket!
Thank you for am exemplary experience!

We stayed at the Kata Palm Resort and Spa for one week. The rooms were spacious containing a huge bed, daybed, balcony and a bathroom with a stand-alone bath and large shower. Beautiful gardens surrounded the amazing pools. Longest pool I've ever see with a smaller pool. They both had a pool bar. A great array of food was served each morning at the buffet breakfast and an excellent buffet dinner on Tuesday and Friday nights with traditional Thai dancers. We enjoyed a Thai cooking class and Thai massages. The beach is about a 5 minute walk from the resort. Tuk-tuks await outside to take travellers to their destinations. Pauline was particularly helpful and polite at all times with all our needs. Staff were always courteous and respectful.

Room Tip: Quite a walk from one end of the hotel to the other. I would request a room at the front of the com...

It was fantastic, The hotel was beautiful
even there's some construction at the garden but it doesn't bother guests at all.

For room its decoration is nice and clean you can enjoy rain-shower or bathtub. If you at the balcony you'll see the pool and Kata beach by eyesight. Yes, beach is only walk distant away.

It was rain heavily when I visited but there're umbrellas provided in your own room!
The pool was very very very fine and the price is reasonable

Room Tip: Pool access room is the must!

I stayed in the resort with my mother and daughter for our first holiday in Phuket. The room was clean and spacious with a great view over the pool areas. The pool and grounds were beautifully maintained and an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of everyday street life. The staff were friendly and tried their best to make sure we were comfortable and happy with our stay there. We loved the foyer area where we would often relax while waiting to be picked up by taxi's for shows or days out. It was quiet at night even with most rooms occupied. We especially loved the lovely, diminutive manager who seemed to take a shine to my mother and went out of her way every morning to find us in the breakfast restaurant and talk to us.... she was very sweet!

When you walk out to the street if you turn left you have a lots of restaurants and markets to choose from, plus the beach access is just down the road. Turn right and there are even more shops and restaurants to choose from. It's not Patong but that was perfect as far as we were concerned. However, if you want to be closer to Patong, this may not be the resort for you (although it wasn't that far away by taxi). It's about a 15 minute drive from Patong (one hour from the airport). But there are plenty of taxi's available from the resort, or if you want a little bit cheaper you only have to walk a short way up or down the street to find a tuk tuk or taxi willing to take you anywhere... just remember to barter them down if you think they're going to charge you too much! Mind you, most drivers were happy to take you somewhere and sit around waiting for you so they could take you home again.... that's service!

Overall we were very happy with our stay there and would stay there again and I would recommend the resort to any families thinking of staying there.

Room Tip: Definitely spend the little bit extra to get yourself a deluxe pool view room, or upgrade to one of...

Our family stayed during off-season for over a week, so we were able to get a great deal on 2 rooms. Ours were on the 3rd floor and interconnected via the balcony. Lovely Thai design. Overlooked the long pool and mountain. Mattresses were very hard. Littlest kids slept on daybeds surrounded by curtains, which they loved. Bathroom amenities were average quality and not restocked regularly. Pool areas lovely. Buffet breakfast was good.Had the buffet dinner twice for convenience, it is pricey compared to the streets, but enjoyable nonetheless. Drinks are expensive. This was a convenient base for us, to explore Phuket's beaches and islands. Walked along the streets most nights, even to Karon and Dino Park mini-golf. It's touristy, but so are a lot of beach areas around the world. Overall, good value for the money we paid. (Though they did try to charge us for the empty water bottles in the bin, which were purchased at the local shop. That was a downer at checkout).
