“Absolutely beautiful place to stay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 January 2014 via mobile

Picked the mom tri's villa royale after reading the reviews on trip advisor, we were not disappointed.A beautiful place to stay with a traditional Thai theme throughout. We stayed in a beach wing that had fantastic views of not only the beach but also the amazing sunsets! The staff could not be faulted - their customer service was second to none. One of our friends we had travelled with is on a gluten free diet this was not a problem - at breakfast they provided her with a gluten free loaf baked especially for her! This was our first trip to Thailand to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary - we would love to visit again but feel we would be disappointed staying anywhere else!

My partner and I spent Christmas and the New Year travelling around Thailand and Mom Tri's was our last stop. Having read the great reviews on Tripadvisor and having been disappointed by some of the other hotels we had stayed in during our trip, we were really looking forward to our stay at Mom Tri's. The location of the hotel was bang on the money and I wouldn't have changed it for anything - Kata Noi is a wonderful beach with pristine white sand and the most amazing aqua blue coloured sea water we'd ever seen. However, the hotel itself is quite dated, we stayed in a beach wing suite and felt that the bathroom and room could do with a spruce up especially as we were paying 5 star prices for the stay. The staff were friendly enough, however, the service wasn't quite that of a 5 star establishment and needs attention. We ate in Mom Tri's acclaimed restaurant on our last evening and while the food was nice [not the best we had in Thailand however], the service really wasn't up to scratch. We felt that the staff provided preferential treatment to the Russian clientele who were staying at the hotel and anyone else just didn't matter.
However, as mentioned, the location is really special and makes the stay worthwhile. Nevertheless, if we were to go back to Phuket [highly unlikely as we felt it was too commercialised] we will stay in a true 5 star resort like Amanpuri or the Banyan Tree.

Great Service, Nice Location, Wonderful View, Private Beach....oh...too many mosquitoes on the way to the private beach!!
The stay here is fully enjoyable. Yet since we have a pretty rush schedule, we haven't fully enjoyed it.
And one more thing.. the super-king size bed is actually made of two single beds...and you can feel a gap between them when you are...sleeping..

Room Tip: Room on lower floors does not have a good sea view. Suggest rooms at least on the 2nd floor plus if...

Beautiful Place location and setting, Views over Kata bay, Superb Food, and a remarkable Wine List, not really for the tourist on a budget, but if you want that - Somthing special. Then this has to be the place to spend that special evening in the south of Phuket.
The staff went out of there way to accommodate us, despite been fully booked, so booking is a must, the food was the best, every thing perfect and to time, one of our best evenings here in Thailand.

We,ve just arrived back from thailand and Mom Tris was our last port of call for a 7 night stay.
To say we were disappointed is an understatement. After reading recent reviews l think we expected to much. We stayed in a beach suite and view was lovely, but the room was very tired looking as was the hotel . As we checked into our room it looked like it hadnt been cleaned or stayed in for quiet some time and that was how the room was cleaned for the rest of our stay. The restaurant is way over priced for thai prices so we just ate there a couple of times as there are plenty of sufficient restaurants in Kata.We are experienced travellers and l would rate this as a good 3 star.

Room Tip: All the rooms with good views need updating so you have no choice

This was the second poshest place in our (v enjoyable, so thx to them) Andaman Sky tour of the region, we finished up here after a spell on Koh Lanta unwinding and a stay at the Vogue in Ao Nang and at the excellent Paradise resort on Koh Yao Noi. The poshest place on our trip was Pimalai on Koh Lanta. The surprising thing was that Mom Tri’s was really quiet compared to the Vogue in Ao nang (we had expected the reverse). Great hotel, we didn’t leave it at all for more than a couple of hours during our stay. When you’re paying the big bucks for a luxury resort, it doesn’t make sense to me to go off day-tripping – I suppose if money’s no object then that would be understandable but that’s not us, I intended to get every pennys’ worth out of my stay at Mon Tri’s, which is exactly what I did.

The staff, food, location and accommodation was excellent and worth all the pennies we paid. If you can afford it then I heartily recommend this as a great place to stay. I can’t comment much on Phuket as we saw little of it. I had read and heard from friends that the night life isn’t what I would like to be taking my wife out on a night out on, so we avoided it and stuck close to the resort, where everything was as clean as a whistle is all senses of the word.

We have been staying at Mom Tri's Villa Royale each year since 2009 and it is our favorite hotel in Phuket, we have stayed in the Royale Wing Suites, Ocean Wing Suites and many times in the Beach Wing Suites.

I would also like to thank the management and staff of Mom Tri’s Villa Royale for the world’s best kept secret. Our daughter lives in Scotland and unbeknown to us had organized with Mom Tri’s a surprise visit. We did not have a clue and I was in our room talking to her on Skype and showing her how beautiful the weather was. She told me to wait a minute as she needed to get a jacket as it was so cold in Scotland.

Then the knock on our door. There she was with her partner and they were staying at Mom Tri’s for 9 nights in the room next to us. Needless to say it was the highlight of our 6 mths in Thailand.

Now back to my review. We always stay during low season and the weather on our recent visit was sensational, we booked the 7 night Platinum Package which is great value.

Every time we arrive the whole experience is magical, the happy staff, the beautiful rooms, Mom Tri’s Kitchen, the grounds, the pools, the peaceful surroundings, there is everything to love about this place. Check in is always a breeze, it only takes a few seconds and instantly you are made to feel very welcome.

We love the Beach Wing Suites; they are more traditional, lots of woodwork and sensational views of Kata Noi Beach from the balcony. All the rooms have free wifi, 32 inch flat screen televisions and DVD players. These rooms may not be suitable for the elderly or disabled due to the amount of steps leading up and down from reception. (However the Royale Wing Suite would be perfect as there are no steps).

There are so many private seating areas around the hotel, set amongst stunning lush green gardens, so if you’re after privacy then Villa Royale is the place to be. It is also all the little things here that count, like coming back at night and our bed has been turned down, a mosquito coil is plugged in; the oil burner is lit, not to mention delicious chocolates left on the bed!

I could go on forever about how much we have enjoyed our stays at Mom Tri’s Villa Royale and words do not describe how wonderful this hotel is. Mom Tri’s Villa Royale is the most peaceful, relaxing and beautiful hotel we have stayed in and we will definitely be back again next year.

It is so quiet & secluded, yet very warm and friendly, it is laid back, nothing pretentious here, but luxurious at the same time.

So if you are looking for somewhere very special to stay with exceptional service, beautiful surroundings, privacy and that feeling of stepping into another world then we highly recommend you stay at Mom Tri’s Villa Royale.
