This is simply the best. We had our own private swimming pool. Our unit was serviced twice each day.The staff are very obliging, & go out of their way to help with smiles. The food is excellent. If you are in need of a massage that service is there also.. The gardens are lush & attractive..There is a special pool for children also.... Top marks for Sawasdee Village. the very best That I have ever stayed..

Room Tip: I dont think It matters, because there are high walls around the complex. Just a wonderful retreat.

This place is a bit off beat, i.e. it is not at the beach nor is it very close to Patong.
And even the taxi drivers are not always sure how to access the hotel; however, after mastering those little hurdles it turned out that this little village inside the village of Kata is a relatively small but exciting place to spend a few days.
Check-in after the flight is convenient, the rooms are decent (have been staying in a deluxe garden villa), amenities are well sorted and if anything missing, house keeping will be there immediately to rectify.
If you step out of the hotel you'll find yourself on the main road of Kata, from here it is approx. 15 to 20 minutes walk to the beach - quite alright except one must be careful when crossing the road.
If you want to explore Patong or Phuket town, taxis are readily available - or the hotel will call one.
I would always recommend to take the trip to the Big Buddha statue up the hill - its worth it.
Now, back to the hotel, as said earlier the rooms are decent and relatively quiet, away from the road, facing the garden - and usually equipped with a terrace in front where you can have your coffee and smoke.
Breakfast is served on a terrace restaurant and enjoyable.
Since we were there during New Year's eve we had the New Years Eve dinner - and that was marvelous, well prepared buffet style with excellent food variety and some entertainment.
Another night we had dinner in the Thai restaurant of the hotel - and that was excellent again.
The staff in the entire hotel was warm and friendly, very helpful and usually everyone would go the extra mile to make your stay an enjoyable one.
The Spa offers also excellent service, but if you want a more down to earth, local massage, there are some places just outside the hotel.
Conclusion: it was one of the best New Year celebrations ever experienced.

We arrived at Sawasdee around 1pm, and as you walk in you forgett that ou are in Phuket, it seems like another planet. The fresh air, the landscaping is just amazing, every corner holds a surprise, and every time you walk by you dicover something that you haven't noticed before.
The staff is just AMAZING, so polite, so corteous, so friendly. Some people say that it's "normal" for Phuket, but trust me we stayed at the Millennium for 7 nights and the staff couldn't be worse, it was a shame that we stayed only 4 days at Sawasdee.
The villa is home away from home, you will find everything you need, and if it's not at arms reach you just need to ask.
Decoration of the room is amazing and the private pool is a bonus.
The only thing I found was that it was hard to find a spot on the sun (to sun bake) I couldn't sun bake on the villa, and the general pool doesn't have enough space either. If you get there a bit late all the chairs on the sun are taken.
But it won't stop me from going back as this hotel is heaven on earth, you must add it to your bucket list :)

Room Tip: Aries Villa doesn't have much "sun" on the deck, try to get the last ones, opposite to...

We stayed in a garden room for a week at the beginning of June.
The overall feel of the hotel was very pleasant, the staff were friendly and polite at all times.
The room was their cheapest, but it still had an Apple mac, big TV and an absolutely huge bed.
The egg lady at the breakfast buffet deserves a special mention for doing the eggs absolutely perfectly! The security man was also very helpful and friendly.
Location was good, about 5 minutes to the beach, and plenty of places to eat and drink.
The only criticism I would have is that the pool bar drinks were not good, made with cheap generic spirits, yet very expensive for Thailand.

My friend and I stayed at Sawasdee Village for 4 nights but wished we had stayed longer. I was looking for an independently owned resort with character but one that doesn't charge an arm and a leg and Sawasdee Village was just that! The garden deluxe rooms are small, but we expected that as most of the reviews we have read before booking did highlight that issue but to be honest unless you are planning to stay in your hotel room the whole time of your trip you really don't need a huge room. We went during low season so it was fairly quiet and we were offered to upgrade to one of the two storey villas for an additional 8000 bahts per night. We visited the villas and it was AMAZING! absolutely beautiful! We would have loved to upgrade but considering that we didn't want to spend our holiday in our rooms decided to spend the money on the luxury spa packages offered by the resort. The spa packages were expensive in comparison to other places in Thailand but they usually have specials for 1-3 hour packages and are well worth the money rather than getting cheap massages in the street shops that are usually noisy and not so clean.

We did the cooking class with the resort. As we were the only two people booked for that day, we got to choose the dishes we wanted to cook. The cooking classes are well priced, although the only down side of it was that we didn't do a huge lot of preparations for ourselves i.e. cutting the veges and measuring the ingredients.

The breakfast was excellent. You have the staple foods such as bread, cereals, muesli and omelette station, and then you have other food that change every morning. It's not extravagant but is perfect for a resort this size. We ate our evening meals every night at the restaurant. The food was delicious. It is slightly more pricey than the other restaurants at the main tourist strip but at least you know what you are getting and the setting is beautiful. The waiters are really friendly and not pushy at all.

There a a lot of mosquitoes but they are well controlled - all rooms are sprayed between 6-8pm.

Location wise, it is about 10-15 min walk to the beach and to the markets. Not necessary a negative point if you want to get more of a local feel and get away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy spots. Taxi ride to Patong is about 15-20mins and costs about 400 bahts.

Overall, staff were very friendly and attentive.

Would definitely stay here again if I were to return to Phuket and would definitely recommend to friends.

We stayed in one of the more basic rooms, but it was nice and clean with a huge bed and a cool bathroom. The pool is incredible and it seems like all the rooms are right on the beautiful pool. The dining room is also beautiful. A little more pricey than other places we visited in Thailand, but that's likely because Phuket is more expensive.
