Just got back Monday, what a fantastic experience. The hotel is set in a beautifully designed tropical oasis. The traditional decor has been thoughtfully put together. If you are thinking of staying here please do. The staff are the best I've every experienced , the service is second to none. I was unwell while I was visiting (nothing relating to the hotel) one of the reception staff bought me some flowers and a get well card, who does that these days? Almost everyone we met asked how I was feeling. The rooms are ample, the beds enormous and comfy. we slept very well as the rooms are dark and it's very quiet at the Sawasdee Village, no traffic noise. Blissful. Breakfast is buffet style and everyone's taste appears to have been catered for, there is a lot of choice. One thing to point out, don't take beach towels with you. You are given a beach bag and towels, which are replaced daily. How good is that? Go, you'll love it

Room Tip: I think the room are mostly the same, it's quiet wherever you are

My partner and i decided upon this resort based on the reviews from tripadvisor and we couldn't be happier with this choice! We used this resort as a stop rest and go option as we had to leave for a tour inland then back again into Phuket. After a long flight we were so tired we justed wanted to get to our room to sleep. Upon entry the staff were so welcoming and gave us great comfort upon arrival, as we walked through the resort with a lovely receptionist lady escorting us, we already felt relaxed and had a sense of trinqulity with the sound of the water fountains and surroundings. The rooms were gorgeous with a traditional thai feel - free wifi and free breakfast included. I loved how the shower was set up with that tropical jungle feeling. During the day we could see the true beauty of the resort, the buffet breakfast was enjoyable in a gorgeous restaurant set up. The resort is located on a quiet part of Kata beach not far from all other main locations in Phuket. It sad that we didn't get to stay longer but we will definately next time. Thank you Sawasdee Village.

We located this place based on TripAdvisor reviews. Overall it met all of our expectations. The room are somewhat smallish. Service was very good. Breakfast outstanding. The pool areas was very nice, intimate, and inviting. The bar and snack service at the pool was excellent. The room has a bit of an oder as well as an odor eater device. Not a serious problem but something to be endured. The restaurant in the hotel was outstanding. It had a great proximity to shops, massage facilities, restaurants, etc. The hourly tuk tuk ride to/from the beach was very nice and we used it frequently.

This was the second resort we stayed in on our 11 day trp in Phuket.

This resort was by far the worst one, luckily we only stayed here 2 nights as we couldn't bare it even more.

Firstly, the room standard and quality was not what was depicted on the resorts website, the shower was dirty and full of mould. As soon as we walked into the bathroom we could smell the musty smell....... The shower had woman's hair all over the walls (from previous people staying) and the shower leaked bad because the floors in the bathroom and shower are uneven and rotten.

The massage parlour/spa/place was just as bad, firstly we couldnt get a booking, because this massage spa services both resorts (The baray villa as well) so many people wanting a massage. But when we finally got a booking this massage was overpriced and did not compare to the other resorts massage (Avista Resort and Spa) which was amazing...

However some good points: the TV/Computer combo is awesome, we just watched Youtube television episodes the whole time......

And the restaurant/breakfast were both amazing! really nice food......

So good points on those.... travellers can make their own minds up about the rest...

We stayed for 6 nights in early January and the photos accurately display this hotel and its marvelous setting. The staff are wonderful, friendly, and helpful, from the front security, reception, housekeeping, and servers. This is a boutique hotel with lots of Thai charm. The pool and grounds make up for the small rooms, providing lots of seating options including huge garden swings, lots of sunbeds around the pool, and various buildings to relax in. The king bed has a foot wide platform on each side that could be done away with and make the rooms feel much larger. We loved the bathroom and the pressure from the rain shower. On the plus side this hotel attracts mainly couples and its a nice group of guests that stay there. If you are organized and have medium size suitcases then the room size is less of a problem.

This was indeed one of the best buffet breakfasts and one night we had a set dinner with wine which was a nice experience in the beautiful dining hall.

There are lots of excellent and pricey restaurants around near the beach (about a 10 minute walk) like Two Chefs, The Horn and Grill Steak House, etc. Serene Kata Noi beach is a 200 baht ride away in a tuk tuk.

The staff was lovely, pool and other surroundings were beautiful and we liked to stay in the hotel area during the hot days since Kata Beach was such a horrible place to go to. Room was a bit on the small side, but very clean and had everything we needed. Also we could borrow an adapter from the reception, which was nice, and the breakfast was super. We thought that maybe the hotel was the best thing about our vacation :D
