Stayed at Aspasia for 4 nights and was pleased enough to leave.
The view from my room was beautiful and the pools also nice and very clean. A couple of the staff were nice but some also very unhelpful, especially if you asked about tours etc.
Much that was promised in the info was not provided, the track to the beach was rough, there were no beachfront provided by hotel as stated and no bus to and from if you were not up for the steep walk back.
I found the bed uncomfortable and itchy.
Sorry but I found it disappointing.

We were recommended this resort by an expat living in Patong (we moved to The Aspasia from another resort). His local knowledge paid off, it's an awesome resort. The rooms are huge and of a high standard, but the highlight is the balconies overlooking the ocean. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The restaurant and pool service is also fantastic, special mention to Ian. The breakfast selection is vast and well prepared. The manager Mike made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and if our family was to return to Phuket we wouldn't stay anywhere else.

The hotel is perched on top of a hill. Perfect for anyone who may have acute Tsunamiphobia. There is a path down the back of the hotel to the beach for the mountaineering type (prepare for wet feet), or if not so adventurous you can walk down the steep hill in the front of the hotel to the beach or several nice restaurants, the problem is walking back up that hill is a killer. I saw many families dragging each other up that hill. So I would recommend to all the lazy folks like myself, rent a little motorcycle for 200 bat a day. (about six bucks). I found out later that the hotel has some for rent, or you can rent one from all over the place by giving a refundable deposit of 1000 bat and a photo copy of your passport. make some copies before you go on your trip so you don't have to run around trying to find a copier on your vacation. (don't let them have your passport).
The hotel room was fantastic, at the entrance there was an area for your shoes and a small bathroom, then a kitchen with basic needs, dining room, living room, deck off the living room, then back to the dining room you turn and your in the really big bedroom with large bed, desk, tv, another patio overlooking the sea and waves crashing on the beach far below. further into the bedroom was three closets one with a safe, then into the open concept main bathroom area, with double sinks, large jacuzzi, a shower big enough for four people, six if you squeeze, and a room with a toilet. This certainly is not a generic feeling hotel. everything is unique and top notch. there are two pools one that waterfalls into another. surrounded by comfortable lounge chairs and bar service. Really fantastic all around. there is a gym with adequate equipment, and a massage person at the ready I can't comment on it because I never had a massage there. I went to the restaurant once. The food was absolutely excellent. The service more than good. Another point about the room was the doors to the patio were all glass so the view was great. if you wanted to you could leave the patio doors open at night and listen to the waves crashing on the beach below because there is a very good system of screens to close and keep the mosquitos out while you sleep. Plus its really great to wake up with the sun in your room and the sounds of the beach below. This hotel area (kata beach) was a nice change to the hustle and bustle of Patong Beach. the venders are laid back, and everyone is more mellow.

Room Tip: pay the extra for the deluxe sea view. its breathtaking. and well worth it.

We stayed in Kata this year. Beautiful and spacious acommodation which was very pleasant and relaxing. Pool was nice and staff were very friendly. Breakfast was a bit basic and hit and miss but to stay at a hotel like this for the price paid was a real opportunity. It was off peak and it rained a bit. Mosquitos were a problem at night but not in the hotel as the air con was effective if a little noisy. We stayed in the basic garden view room which had a walk in shower. A tropical fruit bowl was delivered in about 10 minutes of us arriving along with a welcome drink too.

A very homely place, I even looked into buying the apartment although it turned out to be beyond my budget !

People have complained about the hill into Kata before and there is a steep walk down to the beach. I am overweight and it did not affect me at all.

I am looking into booking here again next visit...hopefully next year.

I like the way that it is just a bit off the main part of Kata which has really grown and developed since the tsunami. I visited here first in August 2005 and the town/village has really took off. The hotel is between kata/Karon really.

Room Tip: We went for the basic room but we were very happy with the size of it. it had a balcony and a lovely...

I stayed in Aspasia and had a great time. The room is huge and spacious with sea view. The staff were very nice and polite. It is about 10 minutes walk to Kata Beach. I will definitely come back again! :)

We stayed in a two bedroom grand suite with our 18 month baby.we found the suite large, self contained, well designed...though a bit frayed in some places.the staff was helpful even though they don't speak good English, but the manager went out of her way to help us charge our iPhones as they had run out of adapters. The breakfast selection was great...and though they offered us free dinner,we found the portions extremely small and hence didn't repeat it after the first night .there was no light in the stairwells in the night...and when we were checking out at 6am it was pitch dark, and I had to climb down four floors in complete darkness with my baby in my arms..overall, we will come back to the aspasia.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms have great views but there is no elevator so be prepared for a four floor climb u...
