My friend and I stayed at the Aspasia and had a phenomenal experience. The premises, our room, the view, and the location were stellar. We stayed mid-week during shoulder season, so the place was peacefully quiet but not deserted.

Check in wasn't quick, but they gave us fresh coconut water during the wait and we were able to enjoy the comfortable open-air lobby area. They upgraded us from a deluxe grand room to a one-bedroom suite located next to the lower pool. The room was large, well appointed, and extremely comfortable.

Views from the resort are great. We didn't try the breakfast or on-site bar, so no comment there. The large pool was relaxing and extremely convenient. Kata Beach was about 10 minutes away via stairs and a dirt path, and we had no trouble navigating it during the day. The resort was up a steep road, but it was easy enough to navigate when it came time to venture into town for dinner and drinks at night.

The front desk arranged for a private car to take us to the airport at a reasonable rate, which was convenient and put a nice finish on our time in Thailand. Overall, the Aspasia is recommended!

- Excellent majestic View
- Very clean accommodation
- Great to have a Jacuzzi in our 2-bedroom suite seaview room
- Great Service! While swimming, The staff would even go over the pool and offer to take orders and deliver the food / drinks.
- Staff even remember which room you stay at.

Room Tip: Seaview rooms are the best!

We spent 3 nights in Aspasia - lovely experience. The room was HUGE with a beautiful view of the sea. We were given a complementary fruit basket on arrival. We also got massage and dinner coupons - complementary. Was a wonderful surprise

We had breakfast included in our package. We didn't have too many choices, since we are vegetarians, but I it was a decent sized spread. Eggs and pancakes made to order are pretty decent.

Dinner was largely average - restaurant has limited options and is priced on the higher side. Portions are somewhat tight. But near the hotel there are many hotels you could try out...quite a choice

Wifi is decent.

We rented a bike for a day from the reception - worth the extra 100B you pay because you can drop it off at the reception. Served like a boon for us, we traveled quite a lot. You need some ID / drivers license.

Overall great experience

Pros: View! Rooms are beautiful. Location is quite good if you are not looking to stay directly on the beach. They really know how to pamper you!
Cons: Bathrooms have no doors. Toiletries are not replaced.

Room Tip: Choose a sea facing room. Rent a bike

The resort is nice. Had a suite for a family of five. It ended up being our sanctuary as we all had some degree of food poisoning somehow. It was a 2 bedroom suite with kitchenette. The room/s were very good, a little bit old but up-kept very well. Kudos to the housekeeping staff.
The downside to this hotel/resort is its location (however, it could be an upside to some). It is far from the beach, in a remote location and up a rather steep hill if you had to walk out and back for food and provisions (which we did a couple of times). There is only 1 restaurant on premises and the food is acceptable but not great. They advertised motorbikes for rent but none were available for the days that we were there.
Anyway, I think it is a good hotel if you want to be secluded with a view from your room and balcony. Also, the taxi ride to and from the airport were hellish due to extensive roadworks and travelling with 2 young children getting carsick is not fun.

Room Tip: Ask for ocean view

I stayed in this hotel with my fiancé for 3 nights in May 2013 in a grand 1 bedroom apartment. It was the biggest room I have ever seen!! For the money we paid it was excellent value. Staff were lovely and there was a wide variety of options for brekkie. Delicious! The hotel is situated on top of a hill offering great views of Karen Beach. It's only a short walk to the shops and beach, and if you get lazy on the return journey and can't face that big hill... just grab a tuk tuk! I would definitely stay here again if I return to Phuket... it's where my fiancé proposed!

My wife and I spent 19 days at the Aspasia and we truly recommend this hotel. The suites are big and beautiful and have large balconies. The views to the beach below are breathtaking. The beach itself is one of the best in Phuket. Breakfast was just great with so many choices, they make the best eggs to order and a great tasting banana pancake. All the staff were very good and helpful BUT! The house maids stop it from being that extra special hotel. Every day of our stay they either didn't leave us bottled water, didn't give us beach towels, didn't make up the bed properly or just left one bath towel of one face washer. The worst thing was that they cracked a glass in the bathroom and then hid it in the kitchen cupboard. On check out I was asked if I broke a glass because they were going to charge me 85 baht. When I explained what happened they were fine with it but small things like that spoil what could have been a perfect stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with sea views.

I stayed at this hotel 9 years or so ago when it was rather new, and again now (writing this on the last night of our stay). Overall a pleasant stay but I feel compelled to note some negative points given that this hotel is supposed to be 4-star.

First, the positives:
- the hotel is situated atop a hill with fantastic views of the sea from lobby, restaurant, pool and rooms, if you get a sea view room
- rooms are huge for the price point we paid (145 sqm with huge living room, balcony which extends across the bedroom and living room, kitchenette and 2 washrooms, plus a separate rainshower and jacuzzi)
- room and furniture are clean and well maintained mostly (read the negatives below)
- decent buffet breakfast included with eggs cooked to order, though breakfast items are limited
- WIFI strong and fast throughout the hotel

Negatives
- the product has not been changed much from day 1 till now. I am not sure when the last refurbishment of rooms was, but there are some serious issues:
- the door separating our room from the next room at the balcony was broken - on a couple of days when there was strong winds, the door opened up due to the broken latches, which looks like they have been broken for a long time. This is a simple engineering task of fixing broken latches... not sure why it has not been fixed.
- TV is the old CRT type, not LCD, though we are not here to watch TV but goes to show that the rooms need updating.
- Jacuzzi is old and had stains and cracks here and there. Needs urgent refurbishment there. We didn't use it cos it doesn't look bright and clean and we are quite particular about this.
- Perhaps a design flaw - the door separating our room and the next room is a little thin and we can hear clearly what people next door are saying/doing. Not that big an issue since our room is huge and we don't really talk loudly ourselves.
- Breakfast - at the eggs station, the menu stated items like "apple wood smoked bacon", "cumberland sausages", etc. But the sausages were Thai sausages sold at streetside stalls and bacon was just regular bacon... not complaining much about it because the taste was good anyway.
- ceiling fan in the BR not working (there is already AC in the room anyway)
- housekeeping is not very good. On one day, they missed out replacing the towels. On another, they left some used towels in the bathroom.

After all these negative points we still enjoyed our stay very much and the room overall is still great and good value because of the size and view and comfort. But we will not return again until the product/rooms are refurbished and issues above fixed. There's just so many options of newer and good hotels in Phuket to choose from. Though I must say few would have the dramatic views that Aspasia can provide.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top floor at the highest block for the best view.
