As I first checked in I was surprised with a room full of bugs and Miskito. The frontdesk informed me that this is unavoidable and there is no way to kill them, so the gave me a useless bug spry and left.
The walls have water damage. The bed sheets smell. Their so called spa is something to be desired and expensive.

The A/C was hot but repaired. And don't forget small lizards crawling everywhere.

My wife and I visited here in early March. We were both WOWed by the room, service and treatment. The hotel is expensive but if you want a private villa/private pool, this is best value. My wife wears headscarf (hijab) and she was very comfortable with the privacy the room and pool offered. The breakfast is prepared fresh in your room and they give you a snack/drink voucher when you get there. Pay the extra money and get the grand villa. Comes with outdoor private shower, jacuzzi tub and rain shower. Marvelous place for a romantic getaway especially if you want seclusion. They can also serve a romantic dinner in your villa but we chose not to becuase too many mosquitos. Plenty of restaurants down the street if you don't want to eat at the hotel. Look forward to visiting again.

We read some fairly negative stuff about this hotel and one review in particular mentioned taxi's were not allowed into the premises and they had to walk etc is rubbish.

We took an airport taxi (Meter) about 700 baht if you negotiate well. a tip would be to ask the driver for his or her card so you can call him on your return journey as the Taxi Drivers in Kata many down the same road as this hotel charge nearly 1200 as standard back to the airport! Luckily I took a business card of the airport taxi driver and got it for 800 Baht.

I went with my wife and couldn't have asked for a better location! In comparison to Pattong which is crazily heaving. Kata is 'good' busy. There are people around and it has nice restaurants that you can get a table in etc.
So imagine this popular street and end of the road you get this quiet sanctuary, this is where the hotel is based. perfect so you are not in the busy area but can get to it within seconds.

Staff are brilliant! go for the in door Dining option its fantastic and they cook in your own kitchen!
A nice touch was that the mini bar was free! Yes Free! You also have free Wifi and Apple TV in your Room.

We had to leave really early for a tour we booked to Similan Islands which left at 6.00am, they made us breakfast and put it in a takeaway box which was really nice of them!

Our first night was spent in a swedish restaurant with probably the best Thai singer I've heard. he is there everynight with his guitar singing classics from the 80's and 90's. Brilliant!! this place is packed and the food is great too. One place to note about Thailand is that Import tax is quite high and this is the reason i had to read the price of the wine a second time. Wine is all imported and it is expensive. about £30 for a standard bottle.

The funny thing about Kata is that within 10-15 mins walk we found the best Thai and Italian Food we have tasted in a long time comparable to the best restaurants in the UK!! crazy thought but true.
Best Italian: Il Tagliere da Massimo, Taina Road is about 20 mins walk or 200 baht on a tuk tuk from down the road.

And best thai was Swasdee village, Ask for table next to the indoor river! our meal was around 2000 baht with a bottle of red.
Brilliant food! spicy too.
Being Vegetarian, these restaurants catered for our needs. All you have to say in Thailand is "Mang Savi-rat" and you are done :)

Hope this review helps, All in all I would say this hotel has the best location in Kata!

the meet and greet, when we arrived for our honeymoon, was great they were very freindly. the room was set in a romantic mood with two swan shaped towel that make a heart and rose pedals and orchids. the room is clean the setting of the room overlooking the pool and a jaccuzzi overlooking a small garden it was very relaxing. Luckily for us the restuarant was under renovation so we were obliged to have the in house breakfast which was amazing, everyday a chef and an assistant would come and prepare the breakfast infront of you while you sit and relax on the table for two next to the pool. the fruites were so fresh and the villa was kept clean. the only thing to worry about was the mosquitos outside at night otherwise it was an amazing stay. i would highly reccomend it to newly weds.

The pool villa itself was fabulous, but with few improvements staying as a guest there it could be even better experience.

First of all the cleaning of the room was poor. After suffering from diarrhea you should think that the toilet seat would be cleaned the next day but it didn't happen. Bed sheets were changed only after one week when we noticed we were still sleeping on the same sheets. But when we requested them to be replaced they didn't change the pillowcases(!) - it had to be requested separately which we found strange. Floors weren't clean either and refilling shampoos and shower gel had to be requested also.

Breakfast was to be preordered. You could think that after checking from the list all you desired for breakfast you should get what you subscribed for. To our big surprise it was totally random what we got for breakfast. Our guess was, that there lies a language barrier to be crossed.
We left missing buffet style breakfast where you can choose what to eat and how much you need to eat in the mornings. Even though having breakfast at your private villa was very nice.

Sounds maybe like small things but shouldn't be overwhelming for professional service provider who advertise to be "a luxurious unique resort and a glamorous heaven".

Here are a lot of complaints about poor service at the hotel. We were pleased to service there. Especially one man at the reception had a remarkable attitude and skills on confronting guests and making them feel welcomed. Few others seemed to got confused when talking english to them, and left us wondering again if they should improve their knowledge of languages.

Alltogether we were pleased and would consider going there again and we are recommending the place to other visitors.
