I have just returned from this wonderful haven of relaxation with a group of friends. The room was beautiful and the beds were so comfortable- we stayed in the hayloft which can sleep four. We all had a treatment, mine was an indian head massage - wow it was out of this world.

However, the best part of our stay was the meal in the 'Shack'. The food was to an amazingly high standard but the room it self was gorgeous. The open fire and candles made the room look magical - the hot water bottles kept us toasty. After the delicious pudding, we headed to the hot tub.

Best guest house in Cornwall!!!!

Room Tip: The hayloft is great for a group but the Hideaway room was stunning.

We stayed at Lower Barn for a couple days during half term. I wouldnt recommend using your sat nav to guide you, you will probably end up driving down a dirt track towards a farm. We stayed in the Hayloft and it is absolutely exquiste!! The decor was very well thought out and came together beautifully!! The king size bed was very comfy, there was a lcd tv mounted on the wall, dvd player and a selection of dvds to play! My partner spotted the box chocolates that was left on the bed for us....soon gone!! Our bathroom was very spacious as it was a wet room..no bath!! toiletries, towels, dressing gowns were available to your disposal. There was tea, ground coffee for the cafetiere, instant coffee and bottled water for your consumption!
Breakfast was served between 8-9am Janie greeted is us with a cup of coffee or tea of your choice. Fresh fruit, yogurt, jams and cereals or the granola which i particualrly favoured was all lovely!! A full english was then served up but pretty much Janie will cook up any concoction you required!! We had a sneaky peek on our last day around Lower Barn and we found the Hideaway tucked away in the garden corner, a stand alone room it was beautifully decorated like ours!! They are currently extending to include 2 more rooms and i cannot wait to see how Janie will put the wow factor into them!! Definately a wonderful find and im so glad i stayed here...a hidden gem!!

Room Tip: The hayloft also is a family suite, there is a door that leads you upstairs to another room with 2 single beds and bathrooom!

My wife and I booked and stayed at Lower barn during Easter. Our welcome was so warm and friendly and made us feel very at home straight away. We had booked in to the double room, which was very comfortable. As well as a bedroom there was a tv room with two chairs, a tv and dvd player with a choice of dvd's, also a kettle, fresh coffee and a cafetiere as well as instant coffee, tea, a small box of chocolates on the bed! The shower room/ toilet had a selection of shower gels, shampoo etc. All in all the room were decorated beautifully and very cleaned. In the morning there is a selection of cereals, fresh fruit salad and cooked breakfast as well as fresh coffee. The owners made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed staying so much we have already booked to go back again later this year. This B and B is not to be missed

Just come back from Lower Barn for a belated Valentine weekend. We stayed in the Lawnside suite which I think is the smallest room available. However we were very impressed with the colourful comfortable double room, bigger than most double rooms I've stayed in and cleaner too!. The bed was comfortable and we loved the two chairs and large TV where we could sit after a long day exploring. It was lovely and warm (it was freezing outside!), lovely bathroom and generous sized towels and dressing gowns. There was space and good light at the dressing table too. The breakfast was gorgeous and it was fab to get a proper frothy coffee at breakfast. We ate in the 'shack' on the Friday night which has a roaring fire, comfty cushions and hot water bottles. The food was very good, we ate a 3 course meal which was £35 each, a tip would be to take your own wine or soft drink. Lower Barn is a very welcoming and friendly place to stay and I would definately recommend it!

We stayed at Lower Barn last September, on entering our bedroom it did have the 'wow' factor as it was decorated with lovely vibrant bright colours, however, the bedroom was small, it also had a small 'living' area with transparent roof, which woke me up when it rained. The bathroom was smaller, the water pressure was low and the bathroom was dusty in places. From reading reviews on here, I presume we were in one of the smaller bedrooms, therefore, that should be taken into account. Our room was near the open kitchen so noisy at times. The breakfast was served around one big table in the lounge area - good if you want to get to know the other guests, but not to everyone's taste. We were expecting a good quality breakfast but sorry to say we were disappointed with the quality, the guide in the bedroom promised so much more....
