Amazing place, with amazing people - ! Tucked away in a beautiful part of north east Cornwall.

Breakfast is lovely, although the main benefit throughout our stay was the hospitatlity and welcome we received.

Generally, I very rarely go back to the same place twice - but with this place you cannot help buy want to return...its almost infectious.

If you are looking for somewhere to chill, relax, unwind and have all the comforts you would expect...look no further.

Simply AMAZING place.

This was my second stay at Lower Barns, this time with 3 of my girlfriends for our annual weekend away to include special birthday celebrations. We booked the Hayloft as it accommodates 4 and from experience, I knew it would be just perfect.
Our weekend went something like this...hot tub, prosecco, laughter, chat, prosecco, chocolate, movies, gossip, treatments, picnic on the lawn, prosecco, hot tub, laughter, prosecco and THE most amazing dinner in the shack on the Saturday night.

Janie and Mike have worked incredibly hard to create somewhere that totally relaxes you. They make you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble.

I can't stop talking about it to anyone who will listen and the girls and I will now be making Lower Barns our annual place to meet up and chill out.

Room Tip: They are all individual, unique and decorated in a bold style that impresses.

We only travelled 30 miles up the coast for a weekend getaway and were absolutely amazed by the accommodation, hospitality and food offered at Lower Barn. We were lucky enough to book The Nook, one of two new hideaway suites and were very excited after reading such great reviews....it lived up to all of our expectations and more!! The decor is fantastic and furnishings luxurious; The Nook has a beautiful little kitchen, lounge area, huge comfy bed and spacious bathroom with a large free standing bath! Mike and Janie think of everything with tasty goodies left in the kitchen and funky Smeg fridge including cake, bread, marmalade, fresh fruit, yoghurt, freshly squeezed orange juice and chocolates. The delicious home cooked breakfasts, using local produce were delivered each morning at a time to suit us which was such a treat!
The location is perfect for exploring The Roseland, South Coast and more with Mevagissey only a few miles down the road.
I can not recommend Lower Barn enough....whether you're near or far you'll go a long way to find better....what a little gem! We'll definitely see you again soon, thank you!

So close to The Lost Garden of Heligan, Bosue vineyard and Mevagissey. Janie, Mike and their family are the most friendly, helpful and welcoming hosts. The Garden room is beautifully decorated and has the best cotton sheets etc. I can't believe all those colours go together but they do. Thanks also for the excellent evening meal - just remember to book it in advance. Everything was better than I expected and I was expecting a treasure.

If you are travelling to cornwall and this area, look no further than Lower Barns, you won't regret it!
I can't stop raving about Lower Barns to anyone and everyone since leaving yesterday. What an absolute gem. We stayed here for 4 nights on our honeymoon and considering we were thinking about travelling abroad i can say i am so happy that we didnt. You will struggle to find anywhere as classy and quirky as this for the prices they charge anywhere on the continent let alone in the rest of the UK. Each and every little detail has been thought of down to the doors and their handles. Janie and Mike are absolutely lovely and greeted us with a smile and a slice of homemade cake taking us on our way to our little piece of heaven in cornwall which was the room 'Cranny'. A beautifully decorated self sufficient one bedroom apartment pretty much, all it was missing was an oven which would have made it totally self sufficient - This isn't something that was missed at all. The bedroom was just lovely and no expense has been spared on providing a really comfortable mattress, pillows and linen. The bathroom was equally exquisite and chic, a flowing freestanding bath and a separate shower, it is just beautifully crafted from top to bottom. Added to all this, a lovely private isolated patio and the use of a hot tub, this is the place that keeps on giving.
When staying in Cranny we had the added luxury of having breakfast brought to us in the morning with a great variety of foods on the menu, all cooked to perfection. Sadly we didn't have enough time to eat here for dinner, but would like to say we will be back and will try it then.
I can't thank Janie and Mike enough for letting us stay in their little piece of heaven in Cornwall!

Room Tip: We stayed in Cranny, great for a really private experience.

What an amazing place Lower Barne is!! This is our second visit and will not be our last. It's been a few years since our last stay, which we loved then, and things have only got better. The Nook and Cranny were not built then...it was a treat to get the Nook on a last minute booking.....This is not just a room....it's a mini villa :0 Janie and Mike have thought of everything!
The interior design of the lounge, bedroom and bathroom are seriously cool, unique and fun. Beautiful crisp linen and soft furnishings to die for covered the huge bed, which was pure comfort. The bathroom, well what can I say, stunning colours, the fattest towels, and biggest free standing bath...more joy! Thick fluffy dressing gowns to wrap around us after the hot tub! Loved the Olive Tree shampoos and conditioner as well as the sanctuary cream and salt scrubs.
Arriving on such a hot day I was annoyed we had forgotten to buy ice for our drinks, I opened the fab funky Orange Smeg fridge freezer and there was a bag of ice sitting there.. Joy! Inside the fridge I was delighted with the complimentary chocolates, yoghurt, fresh berries, orange juice, fresh milk, butter in the cutest little butter dish I've ever seen. It got better as I wondered into the beautiful kitchen...stylish items adorn the walls and shelves then I discovered the fresh walnut bread in a beautiful linen bag reading "Bread", what a great idea.
You've guessed I like the fine detail, marmalade, jam, honey, green and black cocoa, good coffee and tea, cereals etc and a delicious cooked breakfast brought to our door...thank-you Mike.
We sat outside in our private court yard with it's very own sculptures and watched the Cornish sun go down PERFECT....can wait to go back :))) Such a pleasurable experience done with much thought......Thank-you Janie and Mike see you soon for sure!!

Room Tip: Nook and Cranny.... more self-contained for privacy

My partner and I wanted to get away for a few days, and mum had previously stayed at lower barns, and highly recommended it! There are no words to describe how beautiful this place is. We stayed in the Nook, for two nights, which was beautifully decorated, and very clean. The slipper bath, was my favourite part! Janie and Mike were very friendly, and even bought breakfast to us, both mornings, which was gorgeous. Our stay here was perfect- and we will definitley be returning! Ten out of ten!
