We stayed at Lower Barns last weekend for our friends wedding. It was only 6 of us including bride and groom and from the moment we have turned up it was just amazing. Janie welcomed us with the biggest smile and showed us to our room and offered us an afternoon tea which was lovely. The rooms are so different and quirky with very high standards all slightly different but just fabulous. The bridal suite was gorgeous and so spacious and we were just so overwhelmed by all the décor and little bits Janie and Mike collected over the years and the private hot tub was a nice touch!
Breakfast, the canapés and evening meal on the wedding day was just outstanding....we had double baked cheese soufflé and steak with mash and veg - they CAN cook!!
We were also allowed fireworks on the grounds which Mike took amazing pictures of.
All in all it was just such a great weekend and our friend had the best day!!! Me and my husband will be definitely back.
Thank you Janie and Mike - great job! xxx

A fantastic retreat , run by lovely people. A complex of unique living quarters. Ours was a little Mexican style villa with courtyard sauna and hot tub. A wonderful kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and living area. We had our wedding there and will never forget it. After the wedding we were given some lovely touches that made the whole thing perfect. Plus there is and owl and a pussy cat

This is a fabulous place. We had a family wedding and we all stayed for 2 nights. We all loved it, so individual and tucked away in a beautiful spot. Rooms all fabulous, every detail has been thought about, its those little things that put together makes something really special. Plus the big things like the beds, the table centre piece and the hot tubs werent bad either. Janie and Mike got the whole place ready for us, we got married in the lounge / dining room, had canapes in the party shed and hung out around the grounds, kids got in the hot tub while we had some pics taken. It was so relaxed, no need to get bogged down with tradition unless you want to, we just did it our way with no stress or pressure. Mike and Janie provide something unique here and it suited us perfectly, the whole place feeds the soul. Thank you Janie and Mike, what great memories we have all come away with. xxxx

Room tip: All rooms are totally different so check with Janie/Mike and website.

Loved it, great food and art work, very personal service and to watch sun go down in the jacuzzi with a drink was bliss.
This is a place to remember not forget, we will be back soon with family and friends

We booked the whole place for a family wedding. The rooms are quirky but really tastefully done. The food was excellent and the service second to none. The "Shack" where we had the drinking and dancing after the wedding was perfect. There's a DJ's setup with 2 turntables and vinyl records - even 45's! Hot tubs abound and one room has a sauna. It is not cheap but still very good value. I cannot recommend it highly enough as a small wedding venue.

Room tip: The 2 rooms with private hot tubs are best.
