We went to Reichenau for a weekend getaway and landed at the Ganter Mohren Hotel. The appearance from the outside it pleasant and the hotel has a pleasant spa section but unfortunately this, by far, doesn't make up for the uncomfortable room we had (room number 412).
The room had a french bed (1.4. x 2.0 m) for two people which would be OK if it weren't that the bed was placed with one of the sides up against the wall so that the person sleeping on that side of the bed is trapped against the wall. The floor of the room was sloping to one side with a height difference of at least 5cm from one side of the room to the other, which always gave the feeling that you were falling over. But this would have been nothing had it not been for the fact that the ceiling was a mere 210-215cm high (no joke) !! It was like being in a mine. Luckily we don't suffer from claustrophobia !! Just to top off our inglorious stay, the room turned into a sauna during the night (N.B. the heating was off !) and we had to spend the night with the windows wide open, but sleeping was next to impossible. Things were not made any simpler by the motorbikers zooming up & down the street in front of our window throughout the night.
Both Konstanz & Reichenau are nice places to visit and I will surely go there again, but absolutely not in this hotel. It is definitely not worth the €125 per night we had to pay.
