Yet another great stay here. Very clean, warm and comfortable. The hosts Laura and Brett are very helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend. Thank you Laura and Brett
Laura was very accommodating and offered to get anything we needed. We all felt very welcomed and would definitely stay again. Lots of towels were provided and all the beds were very comfortable. Great location just a walk from the train station and a 20 minute drive into Norwich. Also very close to a Lidl and a few pubs. Just what we were looking for! Thank you Laura! :)
I always try to book here when staying in this part of Norfolk. Very flexible accommodation and good price. We know what to expect and have never been disappointed.
2nd time staying at the Old Manse and will be booking to stay again the near future .
Off street parking
Excellent location to explore the sites of East Anglia and a short train journey into Norwich.
Arrived 18th Sept for 4 nights whilst working in the area. The Lodge is lovely and relaxing, very quiet with all the amenities needed. A nice greeting by the owner who had left tea, coffee, milk well all the basics with a few extras (bottle of wine). We had great nights sleep and felt revived the following morning. The shower is out of this world very powerful with shower gels etc provided. A very nice stay and would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet break. Thanks Laura !!
Small property - good points - nice shower, clean linen, comfy beds, plentiful welcome pack. Bad points extremely cold, there was 1cm gap in wooden locked double doors doors (extension lead was passed under door and plugged into the Lodge upon arrival - this was for owners swimming pool), heating not working apart from weekends, safety risks (free hanging extension lead that tv plugs into, ornamental fire not fixed in place, mildew curtains and oven gloves), scratched rusty pans, dust and dirt in places, had to clean cups before use, oven not clean, dripping tap in bathroom, no extractor fan or window in bathroom (therefore very steamy after showers and water dripping from hole in ceiling where extractor fan used to be), not enough storage (advertises slept 6 - not sure where they will put clothing as only 1 single wardrobe and 2 bedside cabinets), in small living room / bedroom the following items were left about as storage cupboard in corner of room locked :- airer, ironing beard, mop, mop bucket, outdoor chair cushions and vacuum cleaner (which was half full of dirt and dust). The thermostat for the heating had its buttons removed and taped over therefore could not be adjusted. No curtain or blind on only entry/exit door - fixings were there however blind was missIng. This property was more expensive than others we have stayed in however was smaller and substandard in comparison. The Lodge at the Old Manse was advertised as luxury accommodation. - our opinion is that it is far from the truth. (Photos available)
