“Nice place - would stay again”
Reviewed 11 July 2013

Stayed one night in July for Business. Nice hotel and restaurant/bar area. Newly refurbished and very comfortable rooms - great food. Definately good value for money, I just found the check in staff a little distant, cold and uninterested in me as a customer. Having said that the restaurant and bar staff were terrific though and overall my stay was a positive experience. I would stay here again and I would recommend.

Okay but room was small ( twin) and breakfast had been under the heat lamps for too long. Staff reasonable friendly and helpful. Nothing outstanding but an ok place. Wall very thin - you can hear everyone move in the next room and corridors.

Room Tip: Room 16 has thin walls

We had a very enjoyable stay on 23rd June 2013 for one night. The room my husband and I stayed in was very stylish, a very comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. I had arranged for family and friends to join us for a carvery as it was my Hubby's 60th birthday. The staff in all quarters were very helpful, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. While visiting the Lodge before hand to arrange the birthday cake, balloons etc etc once again the staff were excellent.
The food in the carvery was excellent, well cooked and a good selection of veg which was not boiled to death! The wine was of a good quality, food prices are very good as the wine.
The advantages of staying at Breckland Lodge is that its close to Norwich city, where there are a great selection of shops, cafes, castle and parks. There is also a zoo which is near Thetford which is only 15 to 20 mins away from the lodge.
If you are travelling to the coastal area in Norfolk this makes a good stop over and a good base if you wish to explore the county.
A big thank you to all at Breckland Lodge, and yes will be returning.
I highly recommend it.

We could call this our local although 15 miles from home but the visit is well worth the drive.

We hadn't booked for the carvery but the staff offered us a good table . There was only the 2 of us but we were not put in a corner but close to windows.

The food in the carvery was excellent, well cooked and the veg still had a "crunch" to them and there is also the opportunity to have food off the menu's. Food prices are very good, especially as the quality is also, and better than some other well known restaurant chains.

All the staff were very helpful, always attentive and were there to ensure you had a pleasant experience. Well done and thank you, will we go beck - yes definitely!

We had really struggled to find a place to stop for coffee on our way to Norwich but have visited here several times now. Always given a warm welcome in the coffee shop and served promptly. They have loads of comfy seating and if it was a tad warmer you could sit outside. They do a good Americano and have lovely home made shortbread for 45p. Bargain. Worth a visit.

We didn't stay here but we popped in for a couple of burgers on our way back form seeing friends, they were yummy. The Staff were very friendly and it's ideally located. Great coffee shop as well.
We will come back and have the car very next time, I've heard it's very nice.
