A very handy hotel and restaurant if you're visiting Snetterton race circuit, Lotus Cars at Hethel or the historic town of Wymondham further along the A11 towards Norwich. The rooms (from £50 for a single) are clean and functional - nothing to write home about but certainly adequate and comfortable. The large restaurant offers good quality and a wide choice but can get busy on Fridays and weekends in summer, so remember to book. If you're only driving by, they have a nice coffee lounge with hot paninis and very tempting cakes. Note that mobile phone reception is very poor but if you need Internet access, there is free wireless available.

Room Tip: If you're a light sleeper, request rooms away from the busy A11.

Visited Norfolk on business and booked just 1 night at this hotel. Had I been staying longer would certainly have gone for a premium room rather than a standard double. That said, the room was ok even though it did back on to a very busy main road. Met up with colleagues for the evening carvery which was pleasent, not the best in the world, but ok as far as carverys go. Must say the service from reception was excellent which followed on throughout most of the evening. Sad thing for us was that a party of 2 had apparently decided to over indulge in the way of alcohol consumption from very early in the afternoon, and by the end of the evening they where decidedly offensive and intimidating to all in their path which could and should have been handled much differently by both the bar staff earlier on, and the duty manager at the end of the evening. Shame really, but then it takes all sorts I suppose.

Room Tip: If travelling as a couple premium room

Went to the stag on 19th January with my family and close friends for my birthday meal, when we arrived no one asked if we had a table booked so we just sat down! We sat there for about 20 minutes and no one asked if we wanted any drinks so my friend had to ask for drinks once our drinks arrived the girl left the drinks and walked off, we didn't get asked if we wanted the carvery or off the menu, so we just got up and had carvery as the children in the party were getting hungry and restless! After we had finished the food, our plates wasn't collected for at least 10 minutes, all the young staff that were working that night kept looking at out table but not coming over to us!! However we did manage to our desserts very quick and were able to get more drinks without any problems! The food was fairly nice but wasn't up to there normal at standard, we got up to the carvery and the guy serving the meat said what one do you want? But didn't tell us what they had instead we had to guess, nothing was labelled which resulted in my cousins putting horse radish on there food thinking it was bread sauce! Terrible service by the staff that night, which is a shame as all the others times I've been it's been a great night! I hope they improve their service otherwise I won't be returning. Disappointed

Having visited here on previous occasions to pick up a fellow passenger for an onward journey where we have enjoyed the coffee and shortbread we decided to go for a bite to eat in the evening as the menu had always looked good. Went one Sat eve and enjoy the three mini burgers which were very good. Friendly staff, very comfortable, comfy, cosy modern atmosphere.

We stayed at Breckland Lodge overnight whilst visiting family in Attleborough. The hotel has recently been refurbished and the rooms are of a high standard for the price we paid. We did not eat in the restaurant in the evening but we had a lovely breakfast the next day. Great choice, polite and friendly service and an overall relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. i will definitely be staying here again when we visit.

Visited Breckland Lodge with family on a Saturday night a few days before Christmas so we expected it to be busy. We had booked a specific table but when we arrived it was occupied and were instead placed between two very large groups.
When we arrived the groups were not the table but both groups arrived at the same time and the noise level was deafening. We had nearly finished our meal but we should never have been put on that table.
We mentioned the level of noise to a waitress who told the management that we were not happy. Maz (management) was brilliant and apologized swiftly and offered us a coffee in the much quiter lounge.
The carvery was amazing with lots of variety including beef and chicken in sauces which you don't normally see at a carvery.

Would visit again but maybe not a few days before Christmas on a Saturday night.

The wife and I once again called in at the Breckland Lodge for a full English breakfast, we live just down the road in Thetford and we find the Breckland Lodge to be not only convenient but is pleasant to eat there.

As usual we received a warm welcome by very polite young waitresses, the food is always nicely cooked and hot, nice coffee and the service was excellent in short a very nice breakfast, yet again!
