“Outstanding views, perfect tranquility - the perfect place to unwind and relax.”

We were warmly welcomed by Gavin and Jemima and felt at home immediately. The interior of the Casilla was more than adequate for our needs, great kitchen, good shower, comfy sofas.
We find it's rare to find a holiday let with comfortable furniture but here, both indoors and outdoors, there are perfect places to lounge, relax and chill out. The peace and tranquility is amazing, just the sound of birds and the odd farm machine amongst the olive groves. The pool is lovely, even at the end of April, when we thought it would be too cold to swim, roman steps help you enter gently and with grace and all around the view of the gently rolling olive clad hills. The flowers were stunning, roses and cactus flowers, lemon blossom scenting the air.
The area of Montilla is great too, pretty villages, lovely walks and no other tourists until you get to the bigger cities - Cordoba is less than an hour away and a wonderful city to visit. Closer to home were Montilla, where there is an excellent Tourist Information office based in an historic old mansion, the Green Route, a level path re-using the old olive oil train track, the astonishingly pretty & hilly village of Zuheros and Lagar Blanco where Miguel will share his enthusiasm for the making of local wines (highly recommended), and so much more. This was a really good find and excellent value, we had a fabulous holiday. A big thank you to our thoughtful hosts Gavin & Jemima, who were so warm & friendly, there when we needed them, but never intrusive.

Liked best: Views & outdoor space - pool & surrounding patio were superb
Liked least: If I had to say anything it would be the double bed - it's ok but a bit dipped in the middle!

An ideal choice for a quiet rural holiday. Close to many interesting places to visit - towns and countryside. In particular very convenient for Cordoba and also the Subetica National Park. Well positioned in olive groves and grape vines with lovely views. Comfortable inside and well laid out outside with a good sized pool. Friendly, helpful but unobtrusive owners who live nearby. A very peaceful holiday spot.

This was our 4 visit to Casilla La Rambla, and it was just as fresh as it was on our first visit. There are good road connections to the surrounding area as well as to Seville, Cordoba, Granada and Malaga. The finca is set in beautiful countryside with magnificent views. Finca is well equipped and has it's own exclusive guest use. Highly reccommended.

Casilla la Rambla is a lovely little renovated finca high in the hills south of Cordoba surrounded by olive plantations and with spectacular views. We stayed here for four nights in October and it was excellent value. The English owners are very welcoming and helpful but not at all intrusive - we had exclusive use of the pool and outside area. The house was clean, comfortably furnished and very cosy in the evenings after sunset with good light for reading. The views are fantastic from the pool and from the nearby (deserted!) road. Around the pool there is plenty of comfortable seating in different locations so it's easy to move out of the sun. The finca is within easy reach of very pretty mountain villages and other towns including Cordoba, with a longer drive to Seville and Granada. We used it as a country retreat after staying in Seville and before Granada and it was a wonderful contrast to the busy cities. We'd love to go back and spend more time here especially trying out the local walks.

“Stunning views, great pool, comfortable house and lovely owners”

We enjoyed our second visit as much our first in 2011. The property is ideally located for exploring Andalucia, including the small towns on the Route of the Caliphate. The house was clean, comfortable and well equipped; the outside area is delightful and includes exclusive access to a good sized pool. There are excellent views of the surrounding countryside and the location is quiet but not isolated.

Gavin and his family are very welcoming and always on hand for advice and help.

“A Perfect Place To Get Away From It All....”
Reviewed 16 July 2012 for a stay in June 2012

Sun Sun Sun. If your idea of a perfect holiday is to relax by a lovely pool admiring the views with the only sound coming from birds, grasshoppers and the odd rare passing vehicle, this is the place for you.
The accomadation is well laid out with everything you would need for your holiday Outside there are two patio areas (one covered) as well as a barbeque to cook those chorizo sausages to be washed down with some nice cold cava.
You do need a car to make the most of the villa but this comes in useful for trips to Seville, Cordoba and Granada
Be aware, the weather in summer is VERY hot so the pool tend to be well used.
We have been 4 times and will be back again in the future
