“Not worth a visit”
Reviewed 12 July 2014 via mobile

Like some of the other reviewers we stumbled upon this reastaurant which was a short walk from out hotel. The outside of the restaurant looks beautiful and is very inviting. Unfortunately that's as good as it gets . As soon as we sat down we were offered the usual of bread and cheese, stale bread and not cheese but mayonnaise mixed with something. For this reason we decided not to have starters and only order mains. I order a pizza , soggy and in edible my boyfriend order the steak which he said was ok. Anyway against out better judgment we the ordered dessert. Horrible, stale tiramisu and a hard egg custard again both in edible. The staff only then asked how the meal was. We did not pay for the desserts but we did not eat them. Staff were friendly enough but that was it. Unless they hire a new chef preferably italian then steer clear there are so many fantastic Portuguese restaurants near by with 100% better food and quarter of the price.

“Delight”
Reviewed 12 May 2014

Came upon this restaurant by accident and glad we did. Sat inside in the evening as it can get a little breezy. Small, quaint italian with a waiter whos english was brilliant, he was happy to translate anything we were unsure of and was very attentive without being over familiar. Our food was fab - The prawn in Cognac sauce for starters is a must. My pizza with Parma ham & rocket was fresh and tasty as was the veal.
Yes a little pricy for a 'Pizzeria' but very pleasant experience

“Don't Bother”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

I find it extraordinary that people have been kind about this place. It's less than average at best and expensive to add insult to injury.
There was very little open in the area when my boyfriend and I decided to try this Italian restaurant. It was a Sunday and also Mother's Day in Portugal. The owner / waiter explained that is why the menu had been scaled back to a few options. I went for Calzone and my partner Went for Lasagne, safe options or so we thought.... His lasagne looked like a dogs dinner. It was flat and a mess on a plate, looking particularly unappetising and sadly it was. It tasted of pretty much nothing except cheese and had certainly never seen bechamel sauce or mince anywhere close to it. Mine looked a tad more presentable but was a doughy calzone filled with what appeared to be heated goats cheese as opposed to Mozarella and there were a couple of bits of ham for good measure. It was appallingly bad and tasted of nothing!
Aside from that the bread was stale at the start of the meal and the only redeeming feature was a jug of sangria. It's a shame as has one of the few outdoor spots to eat in the area. What a waste!
