I booked a table for 4, sort of a belated fathers day out. The plan was to visit somewhere none of us had eaten.
All of us opted for the traditional Sunday roast despite some attractive alternatives. We all had skipped starters in order to find room for a homemade pudding. The pub had entered the taste of Dorset competition so the quality was understandably high. Roast potatoes cooked with goose fat, well nothing short of amazing. A very satisfying meal!
Puddings were homemade and decent sized, all very tasty. 2 real ale choices at the bar kept well. All good reasons to visit again.
It is hard to find reason to fault the pub but one small niggle was the access. My father found it a bit tricky trying to negotiate the door in mobility scooter but please don't let it put you off.
A friendly welcome awaits you from the happy team.

Maria & Simon are the most welcoming and friendly hosts at the Chetnole Inn. Nothing was too much trouble for them to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The breakfasts, lunches and dinners were outstanding, as was the accommodation. The Chetnole Inn is set in a beautiful village location and is ideally placed for visiting the Dorset countryside and coast. There are also some fantastic walks in this area. We cannot recommend the Chetnole Inn highly enough.

Room Tip: The Hardy room is beautifully fitted, spacious and comfortable with lovely views of the church to th...

A quiet country pub and B and B in the heart of Dorset. A pleasant village and the property is run by a couple who have only been there a few weeks but are very friendly and the food and service are excellent. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and this is well worth a visit. Well done with the beer, good quality and I look forward to the choice increasing.

The previous owners were good but .the new couple have hit the ground running with an excellent menu all suited to regular local visitors as well as those from further afield. Ample portions, quality food and reasonable prices will all ensure the new team are made welcome and become popular in the wider community of Dorset.

We came for the first time last year and heard that it had been brought by Simon and Maria but we shouldnt have worried they are so lovely, warm and welcoming!! Our weekend was brilliant! Nothing was too much trouble and the area is beautiful and The Chetnole Inn is devine!! The new owners have not let us down - the food was excellent and the rooms are of a high standard, we really couldnt fault anything about our two night stay. Keep up the good work and so look forward to seeing you all again next year, Hopefully we can try the new chicken eggs!! Thankyou both!!

Our son gave us a red letter day experience for Xmas so we found the Chetnole Inn through their website. The service here is excellent you are made to feel very welcome and nothing is too much trouble for the hosts! Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. We had dinner in the restaurant and again the food was excellent. The toiletries provided are really good quality with tea and coffee making facilities too. This is a great base for exploring parts of Dorset such as Lyme Regis and West Bay and is very close to Sherbourne. Totally recommended!
