My dad (in his 80th year) frequents this pub with friends and always waxes lyrical about the food - so we thought we'd give it a test drive. What a delight! The landlady was lovely and very obliging. The landlord seemed a little grumpy (or cliquy, couldn't work out which... when we first arrived) - but in fairness we'd booked our table at 2.30 - so maybe he'd had enough by then...?
The wine list was very fairly priced - a good Chablis, very pleasing at £30 a bottle - excellent! Starters a sharing board - kids saw this off quickly, but was very tasty. the roast chicken for main course was fantastic - big slices of roast chicken breast with plenty of veg that was cooked well/ not over cooked. We were full so didn't have puds - but there were some lovely options on the menu - the brûlée sounded good. What can I say... Delightful, we'll be back all the way from Kent - Thanks!
