“Excellent base for Honfleur area”
Reviewed 12 September 2013

This is a very large campsite (over 400 pitches) but we there out of season (September), so although it was quite busy it was very peaceful! In true French style each pitch had a small hedge surrounding it which gave some privacy from the neighbouring pitches.
The facilities were excellent - outdoor pool, covered pool, fitness room with sauna, etc, and a takeaway and onsite restaurant. The toilet blocks and showers were fabulous - certainly the best we have encountered abroad. Don't forget to take loo paper with you though - there is none provided in the cubicles!
If you cannot be bothered to cook or to head into nearby Honfleur, the onsite restaurant has a set menu for 16 euros per person which is excellent value for 3 courses with coffee and small carafe of wine.
You can order croissants and baguettes at the reception the evening before for delivery in the morning. All the staff were very helpful and speak English if you run out of French vocabulary!!
As previously stated, beware of the 'No Credit Cards' policy stated in the signs at reception. They (and the restaurant) actually take NO cards at all - not even debit cards, so EVERYTHING is strictly cash here! We were two adults with a VW campervan and electric hook-up and it cost 47.50 euros for the two nights.
Honfleur is a 5minute drive away. It is beautiful and has a huge choice of places to eat. If you don't want a full meal but want to sit by the harbour for a snack, we can recommend Le Perroquet Vert - fab views, excellent friendly service and good food. Also La Corsaire in a little square on the street behind the harbour serves excellent food and is a friendly, family-run restaurant.
The smart resorts of Deauville and Trouville are a short drive along the coast, the very pretty seaside town of Etretat (Monet painted the beach and it's sea arches in the cliffs) is just the other side of Le Havre, and Giverny with Monet's garden is an hour and a half's drive away.

The most luxurious campground we stayed at in France, with country club style showers (spacious, with a centre aisle for putting your shoes on), where you can actually vary the temperature (a rarity in France).
An indoor and outdoor swimming pool and 2 very good water slides. Kids should love this place as there are programmed activities in addition to the sports facilities. There is also a sauna and fitness center for keeping the abs in shape!
The campsites are large with water & electric, most having decent privacy hedges between them.
The staff were extremely helpful and courteous, but beware: cash only for payment here!
The gorgeous fishing village of Honfleur is just down the road, a great place to stroll, take in the sights and have a seafood dinner.
There is a large Intermarché and hardware store, 2 minutes walk from the front gate.

If you're looking to explore Lower Normandy on a budget then you can do far worse than choosing Camping La Briquerie in Equemauville just outside the picturesque and ancient fishing town of Honfleur. The campsite is conveniently located beside (although not too close) an Intermarche supermarket where all provisions and any forgotten items can be purchased - it even has a British essentials rack if you find yourself pining for a Marmite fix. Boasting excellent facilities and amenities the site offers well kept pitches for tents, caravans and camper vans as well as a selection of Gitotels. The pitches are 'supersites' so if you're kitted out for it you can benefit from a mains water feed and drainage. You are in reasonable driving distance from many interesting and attractive towns and a short hop from the unmissable Suisse Normande. A couple of points to note however, the campsite, reasonably priced as it is, only accepts cash with payment due on your departure. And it is highly attractive to families so excited kids are likely to be about. There is a restaurant on site which provided a delicious three course meal on our first evening although the owner cunningly talked us into opting for the higher priced menu, as he had the other patrons it seemed - was that all that was on offer? You are however minutes from Honfleur where the choice of restaurants is sermingly endless.
