We went to Indigo Pearl for a last minute long weekend babymoon and honestly, it was the most amazing experience we have had travelling. The facilities are incredible with multiple pools, restaurants, activities and a day spa to keep you relaxed and entertained. A typical day for us involved participating in one of their free exercise classes after breakfast to make us feel a little better after indulging in their well supplied breakfast buffet that combined local and western food. We would then head back to our pool villa and have a dip in our private pool. Mid morning we would head down to the beach to the hotels private area and read our books on the loungers positioned in both sun and shade watching the beachgoers. By the evening we would eat at one of the onsite restaurants (their Thai restaurant was amazing!) and lazily wander back to our villa or if we called, the hotel would send a buggy to drive us back and forth because i was so pregnant. Because it is only 10 minutes to the airport, none of our holiday was wasted in long transfers but during the time, we didn't hear one plane! In short, if you are looking for an amazing holiday, look no further.

Delayed review as we went last year but as I'm writing a couple of reviews today I thought I'd include the Indigo Pearl!

We had an amazing stay here and couldn't really find any faults with the place. Friendly service, lovely food in all the restaurants (Rivet was amazing, the chef even came out for a chat which was lovely and personal), rooms are really quirky, spotless and have lovely products!:) the swimming pools are all lovely and the whole resort is so well kept. Lovely local taxi drivers if you want to explore. The only negative thing I can think of is the amount of Mosquitos about but that's obviously no reflection on the resort! Wonderful place, would definitely return!

The Indigo Pearl is a great all round experience. The staff are faultless, and the facilities/room perfectly maintained. We were here for part of our honeymoon, and found the ambiance to be just what we were looking for. Not sure how busy it gets in high season but in August we were quite surprised how quiet it was at times. As others have mentioned it feels quite intimate despite being a large resort.

Not the fault of the Indigo Peal, but worth noting that due to a Phuket-wide military beach cleanup, as of last week many of the charming (and cheaper) restaurants such as Fiesta and Phen's along Nai Yang beach have been closed down. So for now at least be aware that eating/drinking out options are substantially reduced.

Room Tip: It's true that some of the outdoor baths can be seen from the common pools. Might be worth aski...

This was my first stay at Indigo Pearl. It is built near the old tin mine, so they have designed the hotel with an industrial feel. It's very steampunk-like and the attention to detail is amazing.
Indigo Pearl is about half an hour away from Phuket town and Patong beach, but the hotel has a free shuttle and taxis aren't that expensive.
The beds are REALLY comfy - they have a feather under blanket and a pillow menu. The rooms are lovely, but they only have curtains for the bathrooms, that might not suit everyone.
There are several restaurants - we didn't try them all, but mostly we found that they did Western food better than Thai (we ate the best Thai food just outside the resort) I'm vegetarian, and they were happy to cater for me.
We went to the spa a couple of times, it was lovely, but expensive - the same price as spas in Melbourne.
The pools are lovely, the family/children's pool is really well designed and there are two adult pools.
The staff are really friendly and helpful, though sometimes there can be a few mix ups due to the language barrier.
We stayed in a room down near the adult pool that had two balconies and it was lovely, big enough so you didn't feel cramped and it had a free-standing bath. Midway through our stay we went to Phi Phi island for a couple of days and we when we came back we upgraded to a villa with its own pool - which was awesome. It also had an outside bath, two sun loungers and an outside couch.
The resort is right next to the beach, you go out the gates and across the road to the beach. There is a little village there, with really good food and some convince stores. We had great massages, and even a fish pedicure. I really loved having the village just there, the resort would've felt a bit cut off without it.
I didn't go to the gym or tennis court, they have classes like yoga daily. They also have bike rentals and day trips. We went on a half day trip to the nearby waterfalls and gibbon rescue centre. It was really well organised, we had our own guide from the hotel and also a local guide who knew the National park. It was a really full on walk - hardly any trail - at times the guide used a knife to cut through the rainforest, so wear really good shoes and long pants if you have them as there can be leeches. The gibbon rescue centre is awesome, well worth supporting too. My boyfriend gave me the gift of a sponsored gibbon for my birthday.
The hotel is near the airport, but you can't hear the planes. A great place to relax and get away from it all.

Room Tip: Down near the adult pool is quieter.

Another review of this amazing resort. I’ve escaped Sydney’s winter days once again and high-tailed it over to the beautiful Indigo Pearl, just a few months since my last stay. My opinion of this fine resort will not waiver, as I truly believe it is one Phuket’s finest; a uniquely presented resort. When reviewing the myriad of hotels and deciding where to stay or the duration at a particular resort, can be quite daunting, particularly when travelling to a new country or different area. However, once you step from your vehicle and enter the Indigo Pearl’s amazing reception area, any hesitation or doubt will be dispelled. The initial welcome at this resort is superb … everyone here is on the ball, very accommodating, professional and inviting. Couples, young families, and even singles will enjoy all this resort has to offer. Two adult only pools and a huge family pool see to that, the offering of a myriad of exercise options, cooking classes, tours, restaurants, the restaurants alone the most intriguing.

Indigo Pearl restaurants offer superb dining options. The most grand would be that of the Black Ginger, the Rivet & Rebar offer great cocktails, wines, and chef’s suggested menu of which is an exceptional experience, and if you are lucky enough to dine at the Dirty Monstera you will never stop talking about the experience. This can be an absolutely wonderful romantic getaway, an exceptional place to have that breathtaking wedding or engagement … or milestone anniversary. There are some great dining options down on the beach too, however when dining at IP, this resort caters to the senses and you will never be disappointed.

The staff will endeavour to accommodate you at every level, are highly trained and professional, management also regularly engage with their visitors, which is great. The Coqoon Spa is not to be missed. There is simply no comparison in quality and experience to those down on the beach. Coqoon Spa is exceptional in their service and level of expertise … exceptional. Simply no comparison in quality. This resort is about indulgence, an indulgence of the senses. See … I’m just about ready to go over again :)

Room Tip: None will disappoint. Lots of stairs, so check with resort which accommodation will suit you best.

Indigo pearl as outlined from many reviews is truly a five star resort but made more so by the professionalism and helpfulness of the staff, in particular Pat one of the front house managers who deserves recognition for outstanding service. He dealt swiftly with a couple of problems resolving them immediately and provided us with a late check out and a pleasant hello whenever he saw us. Truly an asset to your staff.

Having arrived for a seven night stay as part of our honeymoon, we initially encountered a couple of problems with the room which were quickly resolved in being moved to a new room without any hassle. The pool pavilion room was beautiful and spacious.

Breakfast buffet had a full choice ranging from full English to continental to Asian and served right up until 10:30. Dinner in the Tin Mine restaurant is also good with meals starting from 250 baht and although I would expect a few more seafood dishes on the menu, with the resort being located on the coast the food is of a high quality and only a couple of pounds more than that of the beach front restaurants (which you run the risk of poor hygiene quality at the beach front restaurants).
Dissapointingly Riva and Rebar were shut on quite a few days of our stay with only one explanation for one of the days given as to its closure so did not get the opportunity to eat there.

With regards to the beachfront restaurants on the final day of our visit the military had moved in to evict all the beach front buildings, including restaurants, souvenir shops, massage/spa parlours, laundrettes to knock them down as part of a environmental national park/ beach reclaim project. The buildings were being cleared so not sure if any restaurants etc will exist along the beach now, leaving very little along Nai Yang beach.

Indigo pearl offers a variety of activities which we took part in the following. Note there are more activities available to choose from at reception than is listed on there website.

9 temple tour: an interesting trip to see a variety of of temples and the big Buddha, well planned out and the timings were adequate to have a look round and get a few photos. Nice to be driven about and get a glimpse of Phuket everyday life as well. Our guide 'Bank' was pleasant but struggled a bit with English in maybe being able to answer all our questions on the temples, but overall a good trip.

Nature trail tour: possibly the most disappointing and frustrating part of our trip. Be warned it is advertised for beginners but is anything but suitable for beginners. We expected a nice path walk through the jungle to the waterfalls (maybe our ignorance in assuming it would be similar to UK nature trails) what we got was a 2 hour walk through dense jungle where you have to climb over fallen trees, walk along dangerous sloped paths, not be able to appreciate scenery as you are to busy watching where you are walking to ensure you are not stepping in termite/ants nests or walking into massive spiders webs. It would not have surprised me to have come across Bear Grylls filming one of his survival shows there! It is not for beginners and with the monsoon season affecting the stability of the so called trail (guide having to use his machete to cut a path in places) is definitely not for beginners! The waterfall is disappointing but the gibbon sanctuary is good in that they are helping the Gibbons to be rehabilitated after some terrible situations. I would not recommend this trip and spoke to the management regarding there advertising of "beginner" level. Just so you know I am by no means unfit along with my partner being a DofE expedition leader and mountaineering assessor to which even she said it should not be for beginners.

Weekend night market trip: at 1000 baht per person should you be travelling alone this may prove cost efficient as taxi into town centre can cost up to 900 baht one way but for two people can be a pricey option. Adequate time of 2 hours at the market as many stalls sell similar items (ideal for copies of brand name clothing and souvenirs). Lots of food stalls as well including various fried insects. Then the trip also takes you into old Phuket town to walk along the street and look at the somewhat chinese architecture before taking you back to the hotel. Worth going to the market for souvenirs, don't buy from the first stalls as they are higher in price and seem to get cheaper as you proceed into the depths of the market and barter hard.

Don't forget that all prices at Indigo Pearl are also subject to tax and service charge as well adding on around 20-25%. I did not research to much if similar tours are available cheaper from different providers but liked that I knew I was getting it from a reputable source.

Happy hours are a good time to buy cocktails about 230 baht (funnily enough although you order the same cocktail they seem to change in flavour day by day based on who makes it) at the adult pool from 4-6 buy one get one free and also available at some of the restaurants as well.

Local mini marts available at the main entrance to Indigo Pearl, also at the top of the main road before turning into Indigo Pearl and just past the back beach entrance (if it hasn't been knocked down as well) . These are suitable for snack foods and drinks and much cheaper with soft drinks at 20 baht and beer 40 baht as well as a range of other goods available including toiletries etc ideal for stocking up and having an evening drink on your rooms patio/garden.

The resort is located far from Phuket town but is ideal for relaxation and Nai Yang beach is beautiful (advise to head further along the beach to what looks like an abandoned resort where the beach is quieter and cleaner and still a safe zone for swimming) especially at sunset. Should you wish to be in the hustle and bustle all the time then this may not be for you as Indigo Pearl is more of a sanctuary from manic everyday life. Good sized rooms nice outdoor courtyards with bath and pool (based on room) and pleasant surroundings. Ensure you receive a map from the front desk as you can get lost or end up taking long ways round to find areas, as there are a lot of paths.
With gym and three pools, beach on the doorstep, snooker and pool table, DVD borrowing, complimentary fitness activities (see outside fitness centre) there is a lot to do at the resort alone.

A pleasant stay and would visit again.

Our family of four stayed for two nights at the Indigo Peal at the end of memorable trip around Southern Thailand. We were delighted with the D-buk suite on which we got a pretty deal. It worked very well - the two kids were happy in the day bed which had four-poster style curtains all around it for privacy; we had the main bed. The room was very well laid out and appointed with nice little touches like the scent burners and very nice shower gel and shampoos etc. We had a ground floor suite in one of the older wings of the hotel and the air conditioning was a little noisy and didn't particularly dehumidify the room. A suite on one of the higher floors would have given us a nicer view and a little more daylight (not that we were in the room much during the day, with so much to do outside!)

The whole hotel was wonderfully and consistently designed around the 'tin' theme. Rooms, restaurants, lobby, pools - the whole thing. Lent a very contemporary feel to the hotel.

Loved the family pool and also the large, quite empty and clean Nai Yang Beach. The direct entrance to the beach club from the hotel was a nice touch.

We enjoyed the buffet breakfast at the Tin Mine restaurant each morning. High quality and tasty... and good coffee too. We also ate dinner there once, which was good too and very reasonably priced, as well as enjoying posh sundowner cocktails one of the evenings, which were again reasonably priced.

The proximity of the various restaurants on Nai Yang beach was a big draw for us too, having a couple of evening meals and some lunch there. Phen Seafood served some particularly special food - of course at very sensible prices indeed. Lovely to eat dinner with toes in the sand watching and listening to the surf... so it was with great sadness that we heard the army were planning imminently to bulldoze the majority of the businesses along the beach. It wasn't clear how many were going to go and how many would escape. I woudn't be surprised if nearly all those on the beach side of the road disappear leaving only a few on the hotel side. If the local restaurants hadn't been there we would have been very disappointed - even given the quality of the hotel's own restaurants - and we would have ended up with a much larger bill as a result. Prospective guests might want to check the Phuket Gazette to see what happened to the beach restaurants if this would be an issue for you too.

Room Tip: Ask for a d-buk suite higher than the ground floor to get a nicer view and more natural light.
