I booked Sunset plaza for 5 nights but finally i stay there for only 2 nights. I booked an appartment. Number of the room : A15

The differents reason are :
- no message from the website i booked
- two nights with heavy rain and two floods in half of my appartment
- after told us the problem they didnt do anything. I had to clean by myself the floor 2 times with the bath towela and used it to block the water at thia entry of the room.
- day after tomorow nobody come to pick the wet towels...
- day after nobody come to empty the bin
- day after nobody changed the sheets
- the vacuum of the kitchen was out of order
- the air con of the living room was ouy of order

If your looking for an alternative for families to resort hotels this is a nice option. I should point out we were in A block and I'm basing this review on that, it is much nicer than b block. We looked at b block apartment but it had a bit of a funky smell, was missing basic things like rubbish bins, fry pan etc and generally didn't look like it had been given a good clean for awhile so we opted for the nicer A block.

We had a two bedroom (A21) which was roomy and had a great view. I also suspect this one is privately owned as opposed to being rented by the developer or the owner actually visits more as it was taken care of a lot better and had everything in it in comparison to the other one we looked at. The view was great, just what we were looking for to make us feel like we were on holiday. It suited myself, husband, Mother and two kids well. Had oven, fridge etc we could do kids food and was perfect after a hard days sight seeing. A/C and extra fan worked well. The hill is steep but we only walked up it about 3 times as tuk tuks and taxis took us up. Only one refused which was fair enough as his tuktuk was struggling on the flat lol. The shuttle up and down is great, especially if you need to pick up heavy things like water. The staff were friendly enough, to be honest we didn't have much interaction beyond the odd inquiry and the shuttle. The bathrooms are a bit tired and some of the fittings need fixing (bath is a jet style but didn't seem to work but kids could still have a normal bath) but overall this did not impact on our stay negatively. It would have been good to have a general instruction sheet on how things like the bench top stove worked or if the dvd system worked but we managed fine with our lap top and to be honest we usually only ate one meal a day at the apartment and snacks as eating out is so cheap and tasty.
Overall, a good place to stay, definitely not a resort type vacation if your in the off season as pool side bar is shut etc (although the pool is nice and the gym looked good) but thats not really what we were looking for this time round. Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Avoid B block and go A block, not only is it nicer view and better apartments, it has a lift which h...

We are a big group of 6 person and we screamed in excitement upon seeing our apartment. We had a great jacuzzi and a rooftop bar with a small fridge. Everything here is perfect. We had a great stay although we agreed it was too short. Just one tiny scary thing, this apartment is located on top of a very steep hill and we almost got into an accident because our Tuk-Tuk almost topple over while trying to stop. We paid the driver lots of tips after that x) The pool is great as well. And the view, is breathtaking. Very near to lots of shops along the way. Karon is more relaxing and less crazy than Patong, cheaper too :)

We were moved here as a last minute 'emergency' due to issues at another Villa. Management and staff were very efficient in getting us settled in.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom penthouse with 5 adults, plenty of room for all of us. Amazing views from the roof top balcony and from the main living area, the sunsets are breathtaking!

A courtesy shuttle bus to bring you up the hill in the afternoon is an added bonus, although walking up it was great exercise!

Only issues were the smell of sewerage that tended to waft out of the bathrooms. That typical Thailand smell, but we just could not get rid of it. Our rooms stunk when we did not have any windows open! Also, a bit of wear and tear in the rooms and the property that could be easily repaired with a quick coat of paint or a scrubbing brush and soap.

Aside from that, we felt very secure and safe here, and staff were all lovely and helpful.

Our family of 5 - 2 adults and 3 teens stayed here for a week recently after stays at resorts in Khao Lak and Patong. We had booked a 3 bed penthouse but were put into the 4 bed penthouse on the corner with gorgeous views. This was fantastic as our 3 teens had been sharing a room at our previous resorts and they now had their own space. Scott welcomed us and was always helpful with any queries. The other staff were always friendly. The courtesy shuttle up and down the hill was great and the driver always saw us coming and was ready. The pools were lovely and the modern apartment was just amazing with plenty of room, with proximity to shops, restaurants, beach etc, 2 tv areas for checking the cheap dvds, plenty of bathrooms for our family, automatic blinds, spacious kitchen with the basics if we stayed in to eat.
We only used the spa on the first night bu that was fine.
Up the hill just before Sunset Plaza is Ton's View where we got our laundry done (very convenient). Most taxi drivers took us up the hill but some refused but no big deal.

One of the air conditioners leaked when put at a lower temperature and our ensuite smelt of steamed cabbage during the last 2 days but otherwise a great place to stay.

Room Tip: Apartments in building A seem to have better views but ground floor in building B have pool access.

Our family recently stayed here. One room for hubby & I, one for the teenagers. Didn't get twin beds for them as requested. They didn't have any rubbish bins. We had 3. The had a broom, we didn't. They had an ironing board, but no iron. We had neither. Strong smell of sewerage in our rooms most nights. The hill up & down the resort's a killer. Courtesy bus offered downhill between 9am & 1pm. Uphill 1pm to 6pm.

We checked in very late but no problems with 24hour security who kindly heleped us with our bags. Apartment was light and airy, lovely views over the area and exceeded our expectations albeit the apartments are starting to need a little more care and attention. All staff were extremely helpful especially Scott who resolved any issues we had and helped with recommendations and taxis, etc. Yes there is a steep driveway but the courtesy bus is a great way up and down and we found most tuktuk or taxi could get up and down, it's a steep walk or decline but not the end of the world! Really a super base for your trip and handy for the more peaceful Kata / Karon 200baht trips and a 400baht trip to Patong for the parties. Our youngest daughter loved the pool, although unheated it didnt seem to stop the kids. There is a pool bar but unfortunately no snacks, a walk down the drive and you have several restuarants / bars to choose from. Recommended! Thank you Scott for all your help and the excllent security and office team plus the courtesy bus driver, great job all.

Room Tip: We had a sea facing suite lower floor and found it private and nice.
