Description: These are a collection of permanent food stalls on the corner of the main Patak road and the little "Soi" side road running of it. They are, without doubt, the best place for thai food in Karon and no visitor's trip is complete without visiting them for BBQ fish, fresh stir fried veg, curries, fried noodles and all sorts of other delicious, great value dishes

“OK - when fresh meat”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 February 2014

Tastes very good. But be sure that your meat is fresh, and not stored in the heat for many hours. Keep it fresh!

“Get in early when freshly cooked”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 September 2013

There is a reasonable wariness when purchasing from these stalls as Westerners' stomachs can be troubled by foods left in the open.
I, the wife and three kids have never had a problem with the hot food purchased from any of the stalls. Be wary, however, of anything with salad as the water used to wash it is not suitable for non-locals.
The best bet is to get in early when the food is being cooked first thing in the morning, or at night when there is a good turnover.
If you're looking for insects, frogs, larvae and so on, go to the Temple Market (Tuesday and Saturday nights from 5pm) quite tasty and the markets also have some excellent dishes not seen at the smaller roadside stalls in Patak Road and the Sois.
Pricing is excellent and I suggest you pay for each piece you want as you want it - it is quite filling and you don't want to be seen throwing away perfectly good food...

“Best food in Karon!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 August 2013

Having sampled both restaurant and street food in Karon, I really thought that the stalls along Patak Road won hands down!

The satay/kebab stand knew my orders by the end of 12 days (order the pork kebabs!) and te two sit down stalls are excellent both in quality and value!

My husband and children particularly liked the banana pancakes with the stall holder's acrobatic skills with his butter knife!

“Street food at its best”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 June 2013

This is where u get a dinner or a lunch for a low price.
Along the streets and on every market in phuket you will find the food stalls and also the motorbike BBQ's.
You can get fresh fruit cut up during the day time for a light lunch snack and in the night its mostly barbeques and noodle stalls that serve you warm and good food.
Not all food is great but its fun to try something new.
Dont miss the chocolate banana pancake that is sold outside of hotel Casa del Sol on patak road in Kata beach.
