This is a good location with access to the beach and a few good restaurants.
The pool is a welcome break from the package touring beach chair drones.
The rooms are really nothing special and will appeal to the young and backpacker crowds.
Nothing special to report from this place, but my room tip is to try get a room on the left hand side of the building facing the road, the right hand side is for those homesick who want to look onto the next door building.

I would definitely recomment this hotel to all my friends and to everyone!
+ Free WIFI in the room, very strong signal
+ NEW and modern and stylish
+ pool on the ROOF
+ great SERVICE - always smiling and happy staff kept us in a good mood))
+ balcony and very cozy room

Forget about 3* - this is really a hotel worth to stay at!))

Room Tip: Take a bigger room - its price is not much higher, but the difference in huge.

This is a great spot on Karon Beach. Out of the hustle and bustle but within walking distance to everything you need. Beach is very close and many restaurants a short distance away. The service at the hotel was good and staff where all helpful. Only problem was hot water was not always available. Breakfast comes with the room and was very good. We were lucky and hit the annual Women's Bech Volleyball tournament and got to see some world class competition. The beach and swimming where the best I have ever experienced. One note the hotel is new and very up to date.

We stayed here for two nights. The room was smaller than expected. Our quilt cover was put away in the cupboard, so we didn’t use it as it is clearly not clean and had a smell to it.
It stated buffet breakfast when we book, but when we arrive they told us that because it is low season, it is a la carte – we had to order the day before. It was rather chaotic on one of the mornings – the dining room is small.
There was no ambiance in the hotel and felt empty and stark. The pool was good, but needed more shade around.
Location is near restaurants and small market (mostly sold souvenir). Staff was friendly.
An ok stay overall.

We stayed here for four nights in July. The rooms were clean but showed signs of wear and the bathrooms all needed maintenance. They had mouldy areas that needed attention and the bathroom cabinets were all cracked with peeling paint. The room we had was one with a living room however the layout was very unusual in that the bathroom was in a corner of the living room with a frosted glass door and window into the living room. Not very private if you have guests! The pool area was very exposed with no umbrellas or trees for shelter from the sun. The pool itself was cool as it had LED lights and changed colour at night. The hotel was just across from the beach however at this time of year it is too dangerous to swim here. In fact someone drowned there the day we left. It was a ten to fifteen minute walk into the main street though there are restaurants and shops along the road. They were trialling a new breakfast system so you had to order the day before and could choose to have it delivered to your room or eat in the lobby/restaurant. The food was average in choice and quality. We would probably not choose to stay there again as we prefer a more resort style accommodation however it is reasonable for the price.

We booked a Grand Deluxe Room and stayed at this hotel from 12 Jul till 14 Jul 2013. We enjoyed our stay there and highly recommend this hotel. Things that we like about:
1) This hotel located within short walking distance from the beach and there are many shops/restaurants nearby.
2) The room is spacious and clean. It comes with a living room. We especially fond of the balcony where we have our breakfast there with a refreshing experience.
3) The rooftop pool has a good view to the beach .It is a romantic experience to see the sunset for us. Plus, the pool is clean and lit up with small different LEDs at the floor of the pool.
4) They have breakfast delivery service to the room with no extra charge! A surprise to us given the $$ we pay. Plus, you can choose either English breakfast or Asia menu and the food quality is good!!
5) Video players and movies can be rented without charges
6) The staffs are very friendly and helpful. I must specially mention and thank Miss Starfish for her assistance to make our stay memorable. Examples:
a. She offered to contact our driver and negotiate a better price for us before we asked. While we were waiting for some time for our transport, she automatically came to ask for the driver’s name card to check for us.
b. We had few problems with our room. She was patient and assisted to solve the problems in a best effort.

The only imperfection was that the pump was spoilt for one day during our stay. As such, we had no water. Thankfully, the staffs were trying to help and made the problem manageable without too much hassle for us.

We stayed at the Grand Sunset from 17 - 22'nd of June 2013. I believe when one rates an hotel you should bear in mind the * rating of the hotel and then adjust your expectations to that. You would not expect a fantastic burger from Mc Donald’s and with that in mind the Grand Sunset was a great hotel and I would recommend it.
It is located right next to the Old Phuket hotel across from the beach. I would recommend getting a room on the side that does not face the Old Phuket as the view from your room is that of a wall. On the other side you have an open field and sideways ocean view.
The Hotel does have a modern flair but the all-white seems a little stark. We did have a water problem in our room (these things happen) and eventually was moved to another room. I can say that the staff is very friendly but that is something that I have experienced throughout Thailand.
The only thing I really did not like was the mildew in the showers but other than that a great experience.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with ocean view not on the Old Phuket side
