We booked a day long diving trip with them in November 2011. First of all, they do not have a boat, so the trip was conducted by another operator -- South Siam divers. That's OK.
We also rented the equipment from Marina Divers: BCD, wetsuit, fins, and mask. That's where the things went wrong. The equipment is prepared and delivered to the boat without your involvement. When we arrived at the boat, my equipment bag was missing the wetsuit, the mask was broken, there was no regulator, and BCD had holes in the inflator hose -- not only things were missing from the package, the parts that were present were faulty, which during a diving trip can be deadly! My girlfriend's wetsuit had patches of the cover broken and hanging down in several places. Her BCD showed significant signs of wear as well. My diving day would have been ruined if not for the South Siam diving instructor (thank you, Neil!) who managed to find the replacement parts on the boat.
After the dive, we went back to the Marina Divers to complain and demand a refund for the equipment they failed to deliver. The lady at the shop was very rude. She refused to see any fault of theirs in the condition and the delivery of the equipment and she denied us the refund.
Our advice: go to another shop for your diving adventure in Phuket. There are plenty of them around. Consider picking one that has its own boat. Don't repeat our mistake: ask to see the equipment the shop would rent to you. Make sure you get things without significant wear and tear: every diver on our boat had better looking rental things than we did; the replacement parts that our diver instructor found were better quality than Marina Divers provided to my girlfriend.
