Perfect for couples/honeymoon. Feels secluded, staying cliff side, away from the activity in Karon Beach, but you can still access the beach. Warning, I tore up my calf muscles going up the steep staircases, but this is unavoidable at this resort. So, if you are older or have issues with your knees, ankles, etc, consider that first. Very helpful English speaking employee, Alex, made sure we were comfortable. Beware of the guy at the taxi desk in the lobby. He pushed some expensive options for getting around, where a young lady at the same desk was able to suggest more affordable options for the same activity.

Stayed in an ocean facing villa and thought it was lovely. I would recommend this resort.

This time we stayed for 12 nights; paid for 6, got 6 free, including breakfast. We had requested particular villas, but on arrival, only one was available. However, the other 2 were available from the next day, so we were thrilled. My cousin has a really bad back and when his new room was available, he requested the mattress from the night before. Where was my camera when the mattress came down the track, on the roof of a tuk tuk, with 3 staff hanging on to it? No matter where you are staying in your own individual villa, you can get the hotel's tuk tuk to take you anythere within the hotel. From your villa to breakfast, from your villa to the pool. You do not have to use any steps - unless you want to. And what can I say about the staff - they are absolutely wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble. Jee is in charge of the restaurant. Often on duty from early breakfast to late at night. This year there was also Pok. Num is our favourite driver; so cheerful, such a considerate and good driver of the tuk tuk, he has been promoted to also drive the shuttle bus from the resort to Karon Beach and Patong. June is a new restaurant staff member and she will go far too. Pat cleaned our rooms and was so attentive and thorough. They are family and made us feel like family too. Swimming every morning in the sea and the pool in the afternoon was marvellous. Plans for next April are already in draft ...

From moment we arrived to check-out, we were made to feel special and welcomed. The hotel consists of an open-air lobby and guests cottages strategically situated an a hillside to provide each cottage with a view of the Andaman Sea. To eliminate the physically demanding climb up hillside stairways to reach the lobby area and transportation to nearby towns, all one had to do was call for a ride. Within a few minutes a small vehicle would be there to take you up a narrow winding road to the top.

Each cottage had a porch with a table and chairs - a refreshing place to sit with one's spouse and enjoy the view of the sea and lush hillside vegetation. Inside, the air-conditioned cottage contained an extremely comfortable bed and sitting chairs. The separate bathroom had wall vents to allow outside air to enter the room so no air-conditioning. The bathroom really was not uncomfortable to be in and the wall vents brought in the sounds of birds singing in the surrounding vegetation - very pleasant experience.

To demonstrate the care and attention given to hotel guests I will relate an experience we had on our first night at the property. Apparently at check-in, the staff noticed that my wife's birthday was on the same day as check-in. When we returned to our cottage after a visit to the public swimming beach, we found a bottle of French sparkling wine on ice along with a birthday greeting waiting for us. Exceptional service is comes with exceeding customer expectations. Property management did just that!

Guests were treated to a free buffet breakfast each morning and could chose from a wide variety of Asian and western food items. My wife and I enjoyed a daily breakfast consisting of an omelet, home-made breads and fresh and tastly fruit.

The intense tropical sun was uncomfortable and could easily cause sunburned skin so we didn't spend much time at the public swimming beach. Rather, we enjoyed the two swimming pools offered by the hotel. Pool water was cool and refreshing with no chlorine odor. The pool deck contained ample lounging chairs shaded by large umbrellas. Beach towels were in plentiful supply. If you wished to enjoy a snack or beverage, a small bar/restuarant was situated overlooking the pools.

We stayed at the hotel for four nights. On our next visit to Phuket we will be sure to stay at Centara Villas again!

As a couple wanting to avoid the hustle and bustle of Patong, whilst wanting to stay near enough to experience its many entertaining delights in the evenings, Centara Villas is well situated. A taxi into the main town works out around 300 baht and the beautiful Karon Beach is a short walk along a cliff-top path.

The grounds are beautifully kept but very steep. The pool is one of the best I have ever seen and the views from the cliffs are stunning.

Only negative point is that the cliff-top path is closed after 6, not sure why and makes Karon a much longer walk or taxi ride away.

Beautiful hotel and would stay here again if I was in Phuket.

We spent 10 fantastic days here and I would recommend it to anyone! So thank you to everyone at Centara Villas. It was our 50th birthdays (5 days apart) and we were given cakes, Birthday cards and a bottle of bubbly! A real nice touch. I think I’ll start by commenting a few negative comments posted when I looked at booking the Hotel. The breakfasts were excellent, plenty of choice, fully stocked, have no worries about them. There has been a recent change of management I believe and Pok, the Restaurant and Bar Manager, was exemplary! He always chatted to all guests, made you feel very welcome and went out of his way to help in any way he could. He has got his team working efficiently, attentively and always with a smile. Their level of service was excellent. A special mention must go to two young trainee boys that my wife took a shine to, Vee & Nan. They worked tirelessly, always smiling! Centara, you should make sure you employ these two!

The second point are the stairs. You can’t have great views on the side of a cliff without having to walk up some stairs! Those with Villas lower down near the pools just need to call for a tuk tuk to take you up to reception and the restaurant, walking down is no real issue.

We stayed in Villa 102 which was near to the reception and restaurant, which was an advantage as you had no steps to negotiate to get to the breakfast etc but you had to walk down to the pools! The room had fantastic views, was always cleaned to a high standard and the air-con worked, probably too well as it got too cold at times!! The bed was lovely and firm. The whole room was a great size and just great.

The restaurant and bar has marvellous views, having breakfast over-looking Karon Bay and beach it just so relaxing! It’s just the same for Dinner. We had four wonderful meals here. Barbeque nights on Thursdays are great, plenty of selection and eat as much as you like! Well worth it. I did find the wine a touch pricey though.

The Hotel is conveniently situated, not far from Karon, a few minutes (200 Baht taxi / tuk-tuk) and just a bit further in the other direction is Patong (300 Baht). Therefore you can enjoy the liveliness of both towns then come back to the tranquillity of Centara Villas.

All the staff were just fantastic and like some other reviews, a special mention must to go Thong. He’s a really nice man, helpful and genuine.

So to wrap up this review, don’t have any worries about booking Centara Villas in Karon. We would go back and I think that says it all.

Tip – to get free internet in your room if you are not in one of the Pool Villas (by the way, a Pool Villa may be nice but the do you really need one when there are 2 pools?!) just join up to Centara’s The 1 Card / membership. It’s free! Then tell them your membership number and they will put it in your room. It has good speed!

Room Tip: I think Villas at the top 102 - 105 have the best views being at the top and are closet to the resta...

We just got back from Thailand where we stayed in Centara Villas for 10 nights - very fresh review - might bit long, but I hope it will be helpful, at least to some.
When we arrived we were greeted with fresh coconut and cold fresh towel, really nice touch. We arrived at around 11.30 and unfortunately our room was not ready - checking in time is 2 pm. But room was ready much sooner than that, so really no problem there.

Room Location and surrounding
We had Ocean facing Villa 106 and views were stunning. Room was very clean, specious, same for bathroom/toilet. Room is cleaned daily and maid did really good job - only sometimes we did not get fresh hand towels. Yes, there are steps almost everywhere you go - not an issue for us and there really not that many. Any moderate fit person should cope without a problem. We never used transportation service - I think it can only do good to you.
Lots of vegetation around and we felt like almost in the jungle. We walked everyday to the beach and town, very really took Tuk tuk - only after 6 pm when beach passage was locked (we assume it was, never really checked). Swimming pools are clean and maybe not that big, but they are just right and scenery around them is just amazing.

Service.
I have really mixed feelings here. On some aspect service was slow and just to slow, when on other occasions was great. But it was always polite and always they try to be helpful.
Few examples to shed some light.
Room service - leaflet in room says you can order food all day to your room. The person who took order barely speak English and than said food can only be ordered after 6 pm. Few minutes later called us back and said we can order all day - I guess after some consultation. But we had to wait more than an hour for the food to arrive. That has happened on two occasions. Mini fridge was not restocked, unless we call and ask for it.
On other occasion we needed maintenance person to come to our room, and he showed up just after few minutes - and was very quick and fixed hour problem. Generally I would say there is need for improvement and maybe staff could improve their English

Restaurants.
Food in restaurants is much more expensive than in Karon town - even if you include return cost of Tuk Tuk (always go to the gate to get it, taxi service from the hotel is more expensive). It is more less double what you would paid elsewhere and sometimes there is quite delay in getting your food - from what I heard they are short staffed in the kitchen. But the food is really good and tasty.
We had breakfast included in the price of the room (I think it is standard service but not sure). Maybe it was not as reach as in some all inclusive hotels we stayed before, but there is plenty to choose from. You can have scrambled, pouched, fried egg made to your order, there are always fresh fruits, bread, cheese tomatoes and so on - really big range of choice

To summarise I would say the hotel is great for place to stay,as it is clean and it has stunning location. I would not choose it to have all meals in there. I would definitely return and recommend it to anyone (unless you have problem with walking)
