“Brilliant stay, friendliest staff and sweet hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 November 2009

Much to our likings: this hotel isn't a hughe resort, but a relatively small and sweet hotel (about 150 rooms). The staff is kinder than in any other hotel I've ever been to, and always eager to help in any way they can. Breakfast in this hotel is like being in heaven and the beach is right across the street, but the small swimmingpool in the hotel is so nice and quiet, we only went one afternoon to the beach. We did a lot of diving while in Phuket (can certainly recommand that!) and in the evening there are so many sweet, small and cheap restaurants in the area of the hotel (go left) with great, local, spicey tom-yam-soup and proper red curry. The hotel restaurant serves unfortunately a bit boring western-like food, but that is the only minus I could think of... Perhaps 1 more thing: Beware of the vicious musquitos in whole Phuket, otherwise: Have a relaxing time at this lovely hotel.
I wouldn't recommand this hotel to people with kids: there is not much to do for them (which we found a relief!), but perhaps parents think otherwise.

There were so many places to choose from in Phuket and they all looked fantastic but the Andaman Seaview caught my eye and each time I returned to Tripadvisor to do some more research, I would find another good review . So thanks to all those who reviewed it before me...you were absolutely right!

The hotel is set back from the road, directly across from the beach. We were met by very friendly staff and made to feel welcome immediately. I booked through www.directrooms.com which I hadn't used before but everything was ok and it was the best price.

I fell in love with the photos of the poolside rooms and I was so glad that we went ahead and booked one. It was heavenly ... you just step out of your room and dangle your feet in the water any time you want. The pool at the Andaman is sensational, just don't look too closely at a few of the tiles that could use a little work. Every morning , the poolside lounges had clean covers laid out , and you had fresh beach towels in your room. Actually there are two main pools but we never ventured from the one outside our room. There's also a kiddies pool.

The rooms are pretty much as you see them on any of the websites you look at. They're good four star and very comfortable. Just don't expect five star perfection. We had a couple of little problems but they were sorted out quickly.

Breakfast is fantastic. You can have your eggs cooked your favourite way or give something more local a go. I became a noddle junkie!

We ate in the restaurant a couple of times and were happy with it. If you want something cheaper and local, there are some seafood restaurants to the left as you come out of the hotel onto the beach road. Lots of fresh seafood which you buy by weight and have cooked to different recipes. We found a great restaurant towards the other end of Karon at Baan Karonburi Resort. The resort doesn't rate well on Tripadvisor but the restaurant was very good... terrific service and fantastic food. They even saved a table for us right at the front of the balcony to watch the sunset ...pity about the clouds!

A couple of hints to help make your stay a good one :
Ask for extra pillows
Keep an eye on the mini bar each day ... restocking isn't reliable but you'll get charged for anything that's missing ... even if it was never there!
Watch out for the occasional large ant - they really sting
Have at go in the hotel spa - very nice, more expensive than on the street but still reasonable.
Don't expect too much choice from the TV programming - especially if you want English language programs - grab a book or two from their library instead.
Learn to say hello and thanks you in Thai ... it makes a difference.

We will be going back and I'll book the same room...not telling you the number though or I'll never get it again. Enjoy!

Located in peaceful Karon beach, only five minutes away from busy and extreme full nightlife of Patong, this hotel provides comfortable hotel rooms with the staff greeting and keeping you pleased at all times.

Anadaman Seaview is at the southern end of Karon Beach, just a short walk across the road to the beach. No problem crossing the road.
I arrived at 10am and was able to check in at that time (likely due to low season the place was not full). First impression of the room was very positive. Large room, king size bed, lights reflecting off big white clean tiled floors. There was a good size bathroom with separate shower and bath, with louvre windows that can open to the main area, convenient for seeing the TV if you want to or just having an open feeling.
Soap and shampoo dispenser in shower which saves messing around with small bottles and soaps (but they have those too).

The room had a large wardrobe but no drawers, but there was shelving to put clothes on, also a safe in wardrobe. Bar fridge filled with the usual goodies. There was a desk, table and chairs to relax in. I did not have laptop with me, there was internet connection but I did not enquire the cost. There was also an internet room near reception area with 3-4 computers that guests can use (for a charge).

My room was on the 4th floor (top floor), I looked out over the small pool area. The rooms that looked out over the beach would not see much beach due to trees and the hotel is set back from the road, maybe 30-40 metres.

The hotel has two pools, some of the ground floor appartments had private access to the main pool. There were plenty of free sun beds with towels. The main pool wrapped around the sun bed area so it was not the sort of pool one could do laps in. The smaller pool was a more normal rectangular shape.
The breakfast area was fantastic opening out to the main pool area, catering for westerners and asians palletes. Many fruits, cereals, breads, noodles, rice dishes, salads, and a cook who makes eggs (omlette, scrambled etc) at request. I did not eat at the restuaranf for lunch or dinner and did not see many people who did, probably because there are many eating places in Karon/Kata.

Walk out the hotel and just to the left there is a row of eating places which were quite popular for evening meals. Further on you come to many other eating places and shops. And keep walking you come to Kata Beach, a poplular hangout.
To the right of the hotel there is a well paved path to walk to the northern end of Karon beach (or you can walk on the beach) for more beach, shops and eating places. Karon beach was patrolled and it is best to swim within the flags, it is fun beach if one likes a few waves. The hotel provided clean beach towels every day.

Karon is much quieter than Patong and less crowded but still convenient for all the things you need for a relaxing holiday. Tuk-tuks all have a flat charge 300 baht one way to Patong. It can be walked but you do walk on the main road most of the way (no path) so need to be careful and I would say it is 6-7km from the south end of Karon to Patong, so not a short walk.

Overall, I would stay in Karon again and also would stay at Andaman Seaview. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Stayed here in August 2008 for two weeks. Our third trip to Phuket. Loved it! Previously stayed at Hilton and Sheraton. Of course this is not a five star resort but considering the difference in price it's remarkably close, the main difference being resort facilities like Gym, Games room etc...

The location is great and this is by far the best end of Karon. Breakfast good, pool scene ok, fantastic food just outside the hotel! Staff wonderfully friendly and welcoming. Overall just a good atmosphere. We didn't truly appreciate how good this place is until we went back to Phuket this year and stayed at Karon Sea Sands just to be different. You can read our review of that if you like but to sum up there's no comparison!

The Andaman Seview Hotel, offered expectional service and value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The great thing about the location of the hotel is that is just across the road from the beach and there are plenty of great places to eat around the hotel. Taxis,Tuk Tuks and a bus service are also quite easily accessible. Phuket as a whole, was an awesome experience and when I return someday, I will be sure to stay at the Andaman Seaview Hotel.
