“Overall Very Good”
Reviewed 21 September 2013

Spent 8 nights in The Front Village 11-18 September as part of an 11 night package that included a stay in Bangkok first.
Hotel is situated a little way out of the main town but only a 5-10 minute walk to get to the centre with all the shops and restaurants, but this means the hotel is nice an quiet. It is situated on the main road but don't be put off as you cannot hear anything once in your room for the night.
We stayed in a swim up room which was lovely, spacious with a very comfortable bed and good air conditioning.
Pool was very nice and happy hour good fun.
The staff are lovely and a credit to the hotel but we did have a couple of small issues. Firstly you have to pay for WiFi and the restaurant and bar are very expensive when compared to those in town. Pretty much every bar or restaurant we went to had free WiFi so this seemed a bit of a mistake for the hotel as it seemed to us that no one stayed at the hotel to eat or drink but all went to town, most nights the hotel was deserted of guests. We did stay out of season so it might be different in high season but if not then the management might like to think about changing its pricing to attract guests to stay and eat and drink.
Breakfast is OK but not very exciting.

I just spent my 3rd time at the Front Village. Usually we get a pool room but this time we got a Front Studio suite. We love the location, the staff are awesome, so friendly. The check in and out were done promptly, there was a hiccup with the hot water on our first day but they fixed it straight away. Walking distance to the shops and restaurants. We got married on Karon Beach. I can't recommend this hotel enough. The beds are firm but comfortable. If I had to complain about anything it would be the pillows being too hard! Breakfast is quite good although it can be a little boring but definately no complaints.

The hotel is good value, the staff friendly and found the breakfast very good. The room we had was big with a nice balcony, it was clean, plenty of tv stations on the tv , a big comfortable bed. The beach is not far however red flags indicated dangerous conditions on the days we were there and the lifeguard ordered anyone out who went in above their knees. We hired beach chairs and enjoyed the great weather. With dangerous surf the hotels pool was very nice to go for a swim. There are plenty places for eating within walking distance which have good food and good prices. Within walking distance on Saturday evening there is great market in the Buddhist temple grounds with plenty of bargains. Taxi fare from the airport to hotel is about 900-1000 baht and takes about 40 minutes.

Got it on 50% off. Booked 3 rooms for 4 nights. Staffs was helpful & friendly. Walking distance to Karon Beach (5mins). Taxi stand is right infront of hotel. Security is always there to stop traffic whenever we wanted to cross the road. Not much varieties for breakfast but what little they served was good. What I love was the room is spacious with comfortable king size bed! Every rooms have a small balcony but too close for privacy. Sounds from traffic is fine as long as u keep the doors shut. Stayed on 3rd floor, had no problem with mosquitoes eventho hotel is between what seems to be an abandon pond & lagoon. Aircon *thank God for the summer* & water heater works fine. Swimming pool & pool toilet were clean. Love the swim up bar counter. There are also 2 basketball hoops & a few balls by the pool side. My children really enjoy themselves, so did the rest of us. Would definitely recommends friends here & loved to come back again.

We managed to get a very good deal to stay here for this visit. Normally this Hotel would be out of our price range. Our review is based on low season and lower occupancy rate.
*We arrived late morning and had no trouble booking in early. The staff were well organized and expecting us and our room was ready for us to go straight in to. What a relief after travelling overnight. The rooms in this complex are not big but are certainly comfortable. The bed and pillows are great. Aircon has been working very well and the shower is a godsend. Room negatives are the mini bar fridge really is very small and not a lot of room to add your own items. Some days it had trouble keeping things cold enough. We like to buy a carton of water bottles and a carton of the Singha light at the beginning of our stay and keep "coldies" in the fridge. There is a bench style seat which we threw all our junk on daily but no armchair. I personally like to sit in an armchair to read or use the laptop particularly after the husband has nodded off in the evening. The bonus of being on the top floor is the wonderful views, the negative is the WiFi reception is absolutely woeful. It has taken 3 days to be connected long enough to write this review. The signal drops out every couple of minutes and forget trying to use 2 laptops at the same time. As this is our preferred method of staying in contact with home it was extremely frustrating and is also quite expensive compared to other places we have stayed.
In regards to outside of the room.... the pool area is very nice as is the restaurant. The noise level from the traffic is very loud but you get used to it quite quickly. Food pricing here is pretty much the standard for resorts but the quality was very good. Breakfast is very basic but enough. The staff here offer the best service that we have found anywhere, the only drawback being the limit to their English.
Central Karon is literally 5-10 minutes very leisurely walk.(Take the shortcut) There are a couple of children staying here and although they are catered for, this hotel is definitely geared towards the middle to older persons.
My husband is having trouble with the Mozzies but not me so much. You are surrounded by water here so expect them and deal with it accordingly. I always buy a can of repellent for the room as soon as I get here.
All in all, aside from the WiFi it is most pleasant here.

Room Tip: Top floor for the views. Beware however if the lift is not working for the older or knackered like...
