“The Red Onion”
Reviewed 9 December 2013

From the outside you would say no way....... but the atmosphere is great right from the cooking smells, the noise and the occassional ladyboy waiter(waiteressing) around.
Food fantastic and very cheap comparatively.
Go for a wander down the alleyway on the left hand side and see them cooking outside around the back !

“Excellent Thai”
Reviewed 7 December 2013

The best Thai food on Phuket. A bit of a wait to get in, but totally worth it. Prices the same as any of the hundreds of other nearby restaurants, but the quality was much, much better.

“Best in Karon”
Reviewed 5 December 2013

When people queu to get into a restaurant rather than the staff trying to coax you in that tells a story in itself.
We waited until about 8.45pm when the queue had died down to try it and we weren't disappointed.

The food quality was excellent and very reasonably priced. We were in Karon for 10 days and ate here for 3 of them.

There is also an excellent Indian restaurant down a nearby side street which was surprisingly good...especially if you like garlic!

Wouls thoroughly recommend eating at the Red Onion.

“Great food!”
Reviewed 4 December 2013

We were there 2 times already, very good food and reasonable prices. First time I took fish, I chose the smallest one and the weight was round 800-900 gramms! It was really big and cost just 320 Batt. If you want to order lobster, it'll cost 1500-2000 Batt, but it's also round kilo, better to order this if you are very hungry or came with a company. Sizes of dishes are really big, for me one tuna salad was more that enough next time.
Service is not fantastic though, so you'll have to wait for a menu a bit, and often there're no vacant tables, even if you come at 4PM. They open usually at 2, and the house is always full.
We really advise try food there!
