“WOW Amazing ,Friendly ,On the beach Hotel”
Reviewed 6 May 2011

My Husband and i have just got back from our honeymoon in Puket and we stayed 10 nights at the Karon beach resort and spa . We chose this hotel as it was located right on the beach . I have to say from the moment we walked into the hotel the staff could not do enough for us they were friendly ,helpful and very knowledgeable about the area. Our room was very spacious and the doors opened right onto the amazing pool gardens then a few steps to the beach ,what more could you ask for .. Karon beach is clean not busy at all in April -May ,clear waters and fabulous rock views it is truly breathtaking .
If you have never had a thi massage then you’re in for a treat ,if you walk down the steps from the hotel onto the beach you will see some lovey friendly ladies that do the best massages ever and it will only cost you 200 burt compared to the hotel at 800 burt .
Everything is more pricey in the hotels but the food and cocktails are amazing in Karon hotel .We stayed bed and breakfast and the food options were huge and cooked fresh on request .
There is plenty to do in Puket and the rep that visits the hotel was great for trips but do negotiate on the prices .
we did - 4 in one islands ,James bond island on a speed boat ,Phi Phi ,lady boy show which was very funny .monkey island ,monkey cave ,The temples ,Big Buddha ,slash jungle ,elephant riding and lots of the other islands .
You can also use the sister hotel which is just a 10 min walk and has a fab huge pool and a Gym .
At night you can just pump into a pimped up tuk tuk which are hilarious into Puket town .there are plenty of food places but the cocktails are expensive so your best getting them from the little Mobile cocktail bars as they are only around £1.20 .
Thailand is now my favorite place I have ever been to the people are lovely the food is amazing and the place is unforgettable .
I would stay here again and again .

This hotel has a great location . Lovely pools and direct access to beach . Staff however rarely smile and service was poor. The prices at bar and resturant were a bit expensive and then VAT at 7% is added plus an 8% service charge. No need for the staff to try for tips so they did not even try to be friendly. Breakfast was great. Really good variety of food again staff kinda spoiled it a bit.
The beach is beautiful and swimming was a treat. Great for snorkling with loads of colourful fish that would eat bread out of your hand. Sun beds available on beach for 80 bahts per day but with hotel sunbeds just a step away we did not bother.

Room Tip: buy drinks at the nearby 7 / 11 -

We have just got back from our stay at Karon beach resort and spa phuket. To be honest for the price you pay the service is very very bad. Its a fantastic view but the service makes the experience not so enjoyable. The entrance is ok but the staff that are checking you in are not friendly and happy no towel or drink on the arrival. it's the little things that go along way. Rooms are very very average not really nice at all needs a upgrade badly. Breakfast was good , service around the pool area well it needs service . no-one comes around to take drink orders or food orders at all. I would not return to this hotel, better to stay a couple of streets back and head off to teh beach everyday then pay the price for a beachfront resort with bad service.

Spent 2 weeks in this dated, yet pleasent, clean and friendly hotel. Feb 2011 was quite busy in the hotel and a fair mixture of nationalities were staying here. The hotel provided live entertainment every night along with themed evenings of excelllent food. Many of the guests liked to explore - alas this meant after 9ish the bar and restaurant were deserted. Staff were helpful and chatty. This hotel is a must for beach lovers as it sits right on the beach, the only one in Karon. You will enjoy it.

Room Tip: ask for 2nd or 3rd floor at the south end!

Karon Beach Resort was a little gem. A small hotel, only 80 rooms each with a view of the bay, set right on the beach, at the south end corner of Karon beach. The rooms are spacious and kept very clean. The balconies are large and look out over the pool and beach. The beach is long, about an hours stroll from end to end, and is of very soft sand. The sea was warm and on most days quite calm. There are plenty of sunbeds all along the beach, and lots of beach bars offering drinks approximately half the price of the hotels. But saying that, we found the hotel meals really good value for money – really good quality and sensibly priced – in a perfect setting right alongside the beach.
All staff throughout the hotel are very friendly, although some of the reception staff could do with being a bit more customer friendly. Watcharin, a member of the breakfast/lunch/dinner team, in particluar was always smiley, friendly and courteous.
Turn right out of the front of the hotel and you are in the busy area of Kata, with endless shops, stalls, restaurants and bars.
There were very few English speaking guests at the hotel; in fact very few in the resort itself - some Australians, but mostly Russians, Germans, Swedes and Norwegians.

This is the 2nd time checking into the same hotel, it seems they getting better. Have asked for non smoking room and King bed, it was nicely arranged with a fruit basket in the room too. Hotel car was hired, paid for THB100 for a huge 11 seater van (non one booked the van at the same time), so we can have the van all by ourselves. Check in was easy and room was ready.
Room was clean and sea facing, just open your eyes in the morning you will see the pool & the sea. Breakfast was OK, just nice; unless you really intend to sit there throughout the mroning from 7-10am they serving buffet? (which i happen to see some travellers do).
Resort location was great, you can walk out from your hotel room to the pool in 3 mins, and another 3 mins into the sea. You do not need to cross the road , non like in Patung Beach area. You may also find local massage place right at the beach or should you prefer classy touch then opt for the resort massage; then you might missed the fun of having it done in the beach.
You may waslk out of the hotel for variaty of food served, I'd recommend 2 Chef's & Euro Deli (i think that is the name), very clean environment and high quality of food. Both serve local Thai food and western food. Waitresses can gerenally speak english, do not expect fluent and queen english though.
The resort surounding is the right crowd, you can have a lovely walk after your dinner. Unless you wanted lots of bars and pubs, then Patong is the place, as Karon area do not have a lot of people pushing you to buy things and all, but it is in Patong.
Would definately recommend it to all and just enjoy you holiday.
ps: saw another hotel customer was so upset because of not able to get wifi connectionn runnindgin the hotel, hotel only have it in 30 mins block.

We got back yesterday from a lovely holiday staying at the Karon Beach Resort. We arrived there after staying at a 5 star hotel in Bangkok for 2 nights, so on first arrival we were of course making comparisons. We had read some reviews on here which also may have influenced our initial impressions. The hotel is on arrival not that impressive as you enter straight off the main road running through the town. There is a small reception and the staff were welcoming.

On entering our room we thought it was nice but could have done with a little update, but I think our impression may have been influenced by the stay at the 5 star because later on in the week we commented on how nice we thought the hotel and room was. The view from our room was lovely. On the top floor looking straight down the beach. We emailed the hotel in advance to ask for a room on the top floor. Rooms on the ground floor lead straight out onto the pool, which can mean you don't have much privacy during the day.

The beds were really comfortable, the aircon was good in our room and the bathroom though quite small is adequate and the shower excellent, very powerful. There isn't a great deal of space to put your things but we made do.

Unlike some of the reviews, we found the staff extremely friendly at all times.

Breakfast was nice depending i suppose on what you eat. There was a few selections of cereal, fruit, cold meats and cheese, fresh bread and pastries, hot food with a local flavour and eggs made to order and bacon. The only negative was the juices, very minor, but I don't think they had ever seen a fruit.

The hotels situation makes it ideal for just going down onto the beach. We spent most of our days on the beach. You pay 200 baht for 2 sunbeds and umbrella. You can get food and drinks from the little hut on the beach and the local guys come and take your orders. You can also eat in the restaurant in the hotel which is adjacent to the beach, which is very reasonable and the food is good. Beds round the pool that face the sea are snapped up quickly by the early towel brigade.

Just outside the hotel on the left there is a place where you can use the internet, 20 baht for 20 mins. The hotel is slightly more expensive. On the right outside the hotel is a supermarket, extremely handy for any provisions.

For restaurants you can go both ways out of the hotel though most places are to the right. Two chefs we found was the nicest meal and most of the food we bought was very reasonable. As you are walking round you get some hassle off the local sellers but nothing compared to the people in Patong.

Overall we found the hotel very nice, the location superb, the staff friendly, the breakfast pleasant and the overall experience very enoyable.
