After reading so much about this place I had reasonably high expectations. Unfortunately they weren’t quite met.

Mostly the same stalls here for the same prices as you see up and down the street or in the shopping centers of Patong - think imitation toys, generic “hand made” souvenirs and carved soaps.

Scattered throughout were what seemed to be actual local stalls which were nice, but very rare and hard to find.

The street food was nice but not very big and variety quite limited.

If you’re in the area pop in, the temple is lovely, otherwise I wouldn’t bother going out of your way for it.

Yummy food esp the pad thai out the front of the market. Good array of goods and they are willing to bargain.

This market takes place each Tuesday and Friday in the temple at Karon. We visited both nights during our week stay at Karon and found it to be really good fun. Stall holders aren’t pushy. You can haggle with most things and the street food is fantastic.

A pleasant market. not huge but enough to look around. store sellers not too pushy and friendly when bargaining.
Phad Thai lady out the front of temple entrance was really good and popular with locals....so must be good!!
Not much local fruits though.

We went there on July16, expecting to do some bargain shopping. There were a number of visitors hanging around. Finally a monk from the temple told us the market was not open because of Buddha Day. There was no posting on the temple ground nor any online information about the market not operating. We probably should check at the hotel first.
