This hotel is very large. We were shown a basic room which had two twin beds. The bathroom looked a bit rough too. We asked for a room with a double bed and were told its a deluxe room at B1340 - we said yes please! This room was nice - near the top floor so great views, very clean, decor outdated but we could live with this for one night. The service was exceptional - very friendly staff! We were also very near the shopping area which was great for our last minute shopping. For a stop over this place is fine. Also has a large restaurant, pool, discoteque and massage parlour - none that we used though...
Breakfast was basic but included everything - would rather recommend eating nearby somewhere.

Hotel room quite large. Nice view from the window. Dining room quite large, nice swimming pool. Breakfast quite adequate. Reception quite courteous. The carpet in the corridor needs to be replaced. The ladies at the tour counter are very nice and helpful.

A group of us stayed here for 2 weeks. We had no problems with the hotel but we were struggling for cash and didnt mind roughing it a little bit. We didnt book, we just showed up at the door and booked in. We bartered the girl behind the desk to letting us pay $200 each for the 2 weeks accom. (less than $20 a night)

We had no major problems except the toilet broke and we changed rooms, but that wasnt a big deal. The pool was refreshing since it was really hot. We didnt frequent the restaurant as there were cheaper and better places to eat.

Not recomended for children because of the "massage parlour" but we didnt care. All in all nothing special but served the purpose for us while we were there. It was fairly central, but only 20 baht on a motorbike to go anywhere in the city.

We headed to Phuket town to stay for a few days before setting off down to South Thailand. We ended up staying for one night - there was very little to do there. The Pearl hotel was ok - the rooms were a bit grotty but it was somewhere to stay for the night.

When we came in after going out for a meal that evening there was a depressed sounding Kareoke singer entertaining depressed looking people so we didn't hang around for that - we didn't see any dodgy goings on with regards to the "massage parlour'.

There is a small (very deep) pool and a nice garden to sunbath in.

The hotel just reflects the town really - ok but not much going on.

We had to move from this hotel - it wasn't suitable for a family with teenagers for starters, mostly because it adjoins a huge "massage" parlour, with many clients! The entry is actually in the hotel foyer... and it was pretty bad despite this, gloomy, like being in an old Soviet submarine or something, with low, low ceilings and that damp smell.Smirking door staff, who don't open doors, ditto a lot of the restarant staff, inattentive and bored looking. Awful, dirty pool area, with dog doo on the astro-turf and big worms in the bottom of the pool ( I kid you not ) Not a place you'd want to linger. Sorry, we couldn't even call the Pearl charming in an retro, old-fashioned kind of way, it was just not nice. The breakfast buffet was limited in variety, not very appetising and always seemed to have run out of everything by the time we got there :) We ended up sticking it out for 4 days - we had pre-paid, and then going up the street and around the corner to the Royal Phuket, it was such a wonderful relief. Gorgeous, well-run hotel, for not much more than we paid for the Pearl. The stay in Phuket Town was definately worth it, a nice change from the beach resorts.
