As part of the five-star Angsana Hotel in Laguna Beach, this is an upmarket restaurant. It's situated on the beachfront (but no beach view - only the lake view) and is about 5 minutes walk from the hotel lobby (so not that great if it's raining). Its beachfront area is taken up by Xana Beach Club which is quite a pleasant place for a before-dinner drink (if you don't mind the disco-like music they often play).
A dinner for two with a starter, fresh fish as main course and a meat or vegetable dish plus wine / drinks will cost you around 3,000 baht ( including service charge and Vat). it's a very nice place with a clean and pleasant setting but like many hotel restaurants it's joyless. You feel there is something lacking here as with everything going for it, this restaurant should be a great experience. Maybe Asian food is best enjoyed in a far more casual atmosphere (not that this place is too formal). Perhaps it needs more lively staff (not that the present staff looks unhappy) or an eccentric celebrity chef ( not that the present one is boring)! Yes,this place leaves you ambivalent. You expect so much more and are left feeling that it was not worth the price. But it's still worth entertaining business clients, especially if you are on expense account.
