You start with a wet market tour in Phuket Town. Kids loved learning about making coconut cream, tasting interesting cakes and trying sticky rice and chicken. The wet market tour is then followed by a quick bus trip to the cooking school. It's a great and entertaining day making deserts , curries and pad-thai. Staff were fantastic. Highly Recommended.

I went with a friend. We were a bit late arriving at the market due to the street procession for the Vegetarian Festival, but it was fine. The visit to the market was quick, but informative. When we got to the school, it was an amazing site, the cooking stations are in a covered, open air setting, looking out over the water - how peaceful. The flow of the day was great. We'd sit in a lecture theatre (sort of), with a big mirror over the demonstrator's bench) and be shown how to prepare a dish, then it would be passed around for a little taste. Then we moved out to our individual stations to make a serving of one. Whilst we made the food, there was plenty of help on hand to assist. When the dish was finished we'd move to tables right next to the beach and eat our cooking. We made coconut milk soup, pad thai, green curry and a salad and we were shown how to make sweet sticky rice - which we also ate. The hygiene was second to none, the classes were extremely informative with lots of tips and tricks and there was a lovely humour as well. If you're interested in cooking, this really is the place to go. I don't have anything negative to say, it was just terrific.

There were many cheaper classes available, but many classes are hotel based, whereas this one picked us up early from our hotel at Karon Beach, took us to the Market in Phuket Town, where we tried various fruits and mini pancakes, then went on to do the class at a beachside location with stunning views. James, Noi and Get excellent , English speaking chefs and presenters. They add humour to the day and lots of laughs. Lots to cook and eat, excellent venue, clean and food prepared hygienically. Various age groups in attendance but no children. Not suitable for children as individual cooking stations are used. Have a light breakfast as you seem to eat all day. Chefs get to present traditional Thai dishes for you to sample, enabling you to adjust the spices accordingly. Thank you for a fun day, we have learnt a lot.

I did a fair bit of research on Thai cooking classes in Phuket before I left home and decided that this was the one to do. Yes, it's fairly pricey for something in Thailand, but it was thoroughly well organised, the classes and food were first class and it even had a great location. There were many cheaper classes available, but many were hotel based, whereas this one picked us up early from our hotel at Karon Beach, took us to the Market in Phuket Town, where we tried various fruits and mini pancakes, then went on to do the class at a beachside location with stunning views. The class had 2 chefs, alternating between courses teaching in a mini amphitheatre style classroom with a mirror above them, so we could see into the pans. We were then each given the ingredients and went to our own cooking stations, where we had access to supervisors ( about one between 3 or 4 of us), we then ate on the covered deck facing the ocean. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was a long day, 7:30am pickup at about 3pm return to hotel, but I was full of delicious food and we took away a set of recipe cards for each of the dishes. Yes, we even bought the souvenir framed photo, which was expensive and we had plenty of our own photos, but was a good memento, as we tend never to print our own photos. I'd recommend to anyone, even vegetarians or non seafood eating people, as either of these were given alternative ingredients.

My parents and I did this course in October, and had a great time. The trip to the local market with our guide, Noi, was really interesting, and we got to taste some local fruits and desserts. The cooking classes themselves were great fun - James, Noi and Get were very entertaining teachers, and their English (particularly James') was very good. We were taught, and then made 5 dishes ourselves, one dish at a time. Don't eat lots before you go - we only had a light breakfast, then didn't have any dinner that night, because we were so full! An excellent day, and would recommend it to anyone who loves food or cooking.
