Chalford is the most beautiful village. The locals are so friendly our hosts so welcoming and kind.My children and I felt at home during our stay and enjoyed our hosts recomendations.A wonderful part of England to explore.
A perfect location set in a beautiful valley. We especially enjoyed being able to just step out to explore the countryside without the car with the added bonus of seeing all the wild birds that frequent the waterways.
Everything you need in the cottage, which has a lovely comfortable feel complete with log fire. A great community shop in the village.
We booked this lovely cottage for 3 nights in June with our 2 young daughters. The cottage was very clean and cozy, and the space was perfect for our family of 4. The kitchen had everything that we needed for preparing meals. Anna was very friendly and easy to work with. She provided all sorts of information about the area and recommendations for restaurants. We enjoyed walking along the canal pathway to the local bakery for tea and village shop for groceries. The playground down the hill was a big hit with our daughters. We highly recommend eating at the Crown Inn, The Kings Head, and The Butchers Arms. The location was very convenient for day trips to Cirencester and Gloucester. My only warning would be that the road to the cottage is very narrow so it can be tricky when you meet another car. We loved our stay and hope to return in the future.
We had a fantastic weekend at The Cottage celebrating my husband's birthday. The cottage itself was really cosy, lovingly decorated and equipped with interesting local art. There was lots of information available and Anna was hand for any other enquiries. Our children, aged 10 and 5, had a great time. They loved the little park a couple of minutes or so on foot in one direction, and the quirky village shop, run by volunteers, about the same distance in the other direction. We were all charmed by Chalford and found it to be a very beautiful village. There is so much to do in this part of the country - we loved Stroud Farmers' Market on the Saturday and had a nice Sunday lunch at The Amberley Inn the following day. There are lots of lovely walks nearby and we could have easily filled a much longer stretch here. I would highly recommend The Cottage - Anna is a great host and we really hope to return.
