“Lovely, friendly couple”
Reviewed 9 February 2013 via mobile

My second visit to the tea room, and it was even better than last year. There seemed to be more space (?), which made it even more enjoyable to sit and savour a lovely warming cup of hot chocolate. The owners are so friendly and welcoming and have done such a great job providing such high quality amenity for locals and visitors. Long may it continue

“A gem”
Reviewed 21 January 2013

At last, someone who knows how to make a business thrive on Bute. This is a charming little village shop that sells more or less everything. Port Bannatyne used to have many shops but this excellent little shop has managed to cram more or less everything all those old shops sold into a small space. It is run a by a charming couple for whom nothing is too much trouble and their coffee is sublime. I heartily recommend.

“Great cuppa”
Reviewed 23 November 2012

This was our first stop after completing the West Island Way. We nipped in for a cuppa and some provisions. Friendly service. Its a quirky old fashioned shop/post office/cafe. I liked it so much I have a postcard of it framed on my kitchen wall.

“Return to The Port”

Very friendly reception in what was a childhood haunt. Food was good and extremely good value for money. Comfortable table with good view of the bay.

“Absolutely brilliant!”
Reviewed 7 September 2012

This is a great little cafe/post office/general store on the water's edge. Be served an excellent range of teas and toasties inside or outside. The local people are very friendly and Janet and Pat ensure that your visit is a memorable one. Visit the Post Office just for the exceptional seaview as you relax and enjoy the tranquillity.
