“What ever you save booking here, you will spend on taxis.”
Reviewed 8 January 2010

From the airport, you have to pay an additional surcharge of 10,000 on your "set price" taxi fare to Nusa Dua. This is because STP isn't in Nusa Dua.

The fine print doesn't tell you that STP is foisting students on you. I arrived just ahead of my friend, who had booked a twin room. The gal at the desk disappeared with my passport and returned with the completed paperwork, in my friends' name using my passport details. Then I was told that the room was a double and, if I waited, a twin room would be made up for me. This meant they removed the king bed frame and replaced it with two twin beds (not doubles).

The cafe doesn't operate after breakfast (no bar either) so you must go to Nusa Dua to eat.

The only way to get from STP to the beaches is their shuttle service, which they only operate one-way (so you're on your own for a taxi back from Nusa Dua, which is nearly impossible, since most drivers have never heard of STP). Forget walking, because just getting to the entrance of STP is a walk of about 1 km in the wrong direction from the beaches and backtracking along a road with no footpath is frustrating.

After taking a taxi back to the hotel to use the spa, we were hugely disapointed that the spa was closed necessitating (you guessed it) another shuttle ride and another taxi ride down the hill.

I have no idea if this place is any better during the school term, but it really felt like we were part of the coursework for Tourism 305 "how to tell guests your standard services are not available." We were certainly over paying.

My rec: find a small bungalow or villa complex away from Nusa Dua, at Bali prices and enjoy the real-world charm of Bali, not the fake resort that is Hotel Langon.

Following some of the previous glowing reviews, we decided to give the Langon a try after two weeks in north Bali over the busy New Year's weekend. What the other reviews don't reveal is that the hotel is actually a training site for a well-known hotel management university. However, it was barely operational over the busy New Year's weekend, and we learned all students were on intersession until Jan 16. It is sited on a university campus, about 5-6 km from the beach and tourist attractions of Nusa Dua. The views are quite beautiful, but the place is very isolated. While advertised as a "spa," all staff were "in training" both Saturday and Sunday. We had booked a deluxe king, but had to choose either between the "deluxe" (twin beds) or the "king" (superior room) on arrival. Wifi and international TV were both down, supposedly due to a thunderstorm, but we had a feeling lack of payment of utility bills is just as plausible an explanation. Restaurant and bar were both closed at night, necessitating a trip to Nusa Dua -- curiously, shuttle was provided just to one restaurant (which was closed!) Staff were not familiar with Nusa Dua's better restaurants. The hotel building itself has potential, but the management problems were rife. I was very happy that we had not booked for more than one night, and glad to leave.

Resort is situated uphill but wif shuttle services readily available to beaches and restaurants it is great convenient. It offers a secluded and relaxing stay at nuasa dua area.

Breakfast is served at restaurant or u can have it served at Ur room balcony, not much variety but good taste and full with toasts, cheese, bacon and eggs cooked accdg to Ur choice, fruits and fresh juices, served wif patient and friendly staff.

We r offered a free upgrade to a junior suite...a kind gesture of de hotel manager. A frendly and warm person who took great care to make sure we had a wonderful stay. Helped us to arrange for day tour, shuttle as well as sending us to kuta beach to our next hotel stay. Their service is five star and it is truly a valuable and great place to stay consider it is rated under bed&breakfast, I see it seem to run in no way less than that of a hotel quality!

Room is very large and cleaned daily, bathroom decor is spa like wif nice fragrances...new bath robes provided for use daily.

Only minus pt is maybe it is not located at beach front and there seem be constructions going ard, seem to be expanding in some way.... well it did not spoilt the resort relaxing mode anyway. We love the pool really, is like swimming in private pool, as it is never crowded during our stay. Great for honeymooners and couples!
