Fantastic hotel.
Would recommend to anyone and everyone.
Only downside was distance from beach, other restaurants, supermarket, yes there is a courtesy mini bus but only runs three times a day,so would recommend car hire.
First time ever found the photos in a brochure actually match the accomadation avaliable, was as amazing as it looks.
Staff always happy to help.
We stayed in a suite, did look at villas for next time as eating in restaurants all week for lunch and dinner costly but then again we were on holiday, no more expensive than eating out at home.
Bed and breakfast worth doing as Buffet breakfast one of best have seen, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cheese, salmon, cucumber, tomato, cooked breakfast, various breads, pastries, dried fruit , cereal, fruit juice, hot drinks, and more.
Perfect 10 out of 10.

Room Tip: The hotel as set away from any thing else so all sides quiet, really peaceful setting.

Just had a weeks break at this resort. The resort is exactly as it looks on the web site. The staff are proffessional, friendly and knowledgable. The hotel is some what isolated , although there is a curtesy bus to Carvoeiro 3 time as day but I would recommend a car if you want to get out and about.

The rooms were pleasant and spacious with balconies either overlooking the pool, gardens or mountains. There were plenty of sun beds around the pool and also spread out within the grounds. We were on a bed and breakfast basis and the breakfast was brilliant with lots of choice from a full cooked breakfast, cold meats, cheese, fruit etc. A very enjoyable break but may be too quiet for people who enjoying the night life.

I do not normally pass comment on holiday accomodation as most of it is fairly standard however, this resort is a cut above the rest . We will be returning in the near future.

Room Tip: We had a first floor double room which overlooked the grounds. Nice and quiet at night.

THis hotel is situated about a ten minute drive from the major local town and you would need a car if you were going to travel to it as there is not much around the hotel. The hotel looks great, very flash. rooms are big and well decorated. Rooms either look over the pool area or out over the surrounding mountains and coutryside.

The one great thing about this hotel is the breakfast, it is served besida the pool, the majority of the seats are outside so when it does rain it can get a little bit tight for space inside and you may have to wait to get a seat. The selection and quality of the food was great, everything ranging from fresh bed and pastries to smoked salmon and sparkling wine. You can help yourself to as much sparkling wine if you want. Some days they had freshly squeezed orange juice whcih was great but then half way through our trip they changed over to the cheap stuff.

The hotel has a little spa area which you can use, it is quite small so you have to book in advance,m free of charge. Includes sauna, steam room and jacuzi. Not a place for families or small kids as not much to do there, great for couples or a relaxing break

For a four stars hotel it's a realy good hotel. But what is out-standing is the service.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good

The hotel is lovely and in a green and leafy location. Very un-chavvy (which was what i thought Algarve might be like). Good rooms. Staff very polite and helpful. Nice and quiet late night and early morning for sleep purposes! All facilities/areas clean, modern and well kept.

You really must hire a care if you want to stay here as it is 2-3 miles from nearby town, restaurant and beaches. You will be bored stiff otherwise unless you enjoy not going anywhere. Although there is tennis, ping pong and a spa. There is a 'free shuttle bus' to beach but it only goes at 10, 2 and 5.

Only both prob with room was that me and my chap agreed our mattress was a bit on the hard side.

Drinks very steep prices. Even soft drinks eg a can of coke in bar was 2.50 euro, or OJ 3.50 euro. A non-alcoholic fruit cocktail was around 5-6 Euros!! Pints of lager around 4.50 euro.

Spa treatments also expensive so didnt have one- most massages or body treatments are at least 60-70 euros or more.

Marinha beach very nice and close by (but still a drive away) was surprisingly unspoilt and beautiful. Benagil beach almost as good. Need to take your own snacks/drinks as nothing down there to buy. Try the restaurant in Benagil called 'O Litoral' it is delicious! Looks very basic and un-fancy but food excellent and service friendly.

Room Tip: You need to specifically ask for a double when you book or you might be given a twin

Just returned from Vale D'el Rei, having spent a very relaxing week in wall to wall sunshine.
The hotel is spotless and the grounds very well-maintained.The staff are all very obliging and nothing is too much trouble.
Being quite isolated, however, the resort lacks proximity to any shops, the nearest being a good 3-4 miles away. We hired a car for 4 days (buy 3 get 1 free), arranged through the hotel. This enabled us to explore the Algarve and visit interesting places such as Cape St Vincent, which is the furthest south westerly point of Europe.
On the way back from our outings, we would call at the supermarket in Lagoa or Carvoiero for fruit, bottles of water etc.
Breakfast provided a good variety of food, but dinner lacked choice and the portions were quite small. We ate out mostly and enjoyed trying out different local restaurants.
The pool facilities are lovely and clean, (although the water was a little chilly), and the resort itself is very pretty.
I would definitely recommend Vale D'el Rei if you want somewhere to relax and escape to!

Good place to relax,Staff very pleasant and helpful.
We had a Twin room which was very comfortable, nice balcony,
Breakfast was a very good variety of continental and english choices.
Snacks where better than the evening meal option although we only tried once and were glad we did not go for the half board option as the food was plain and bland we dined
out the rest of our stay, plenty of choice in nearby locations including the local town
however you will need a car as it is a good 2 miles to the nearest.
The Same goes if you want to travel around car hire is reasonable and in future
i would consider hiring a villa as the local supermarkets have a fantastic selection of the local produce meats fish fruit and veg and of course wines.
First trip to portugal but i would definately go back after looking around on the net some more.
