We stayed at this wonderful place for 14 days & had a hard time leaving, since we enjoyed every minute we were there. It was very special & absolutly wonderful to be a guest at this layed-back "garden eden".
It´s a great colourful, very well looked after garden paradies smak bang on the beach.
It´s calm.
It´s peaceful.
It´s full of nature.
It´s as relaxed as you want it, once you started your annual holiday with a max. of 14 days.
The rooms are being looked after & cleaned every day ... the ladies are lovely, helpful & always open for a little chat.
Esp. Josette - she´s the heart of this place & of course - the owner.
She´s around when you need her or if you are planning an excursion on the island.
She has handy tipps, where to go, whom to call (she usually does that for you:-)), how & where to save money etc... Plus she´s a very special & pleasant host at any time.
The premises are on the south-western side of Mauritius - for us probalbly the nicest part of the island, because of the fact - that´s where you find most of the nature.
That´s how Mauritius used to be before the tourism started to boom, we were tolded by our diveguide.
We have to say that the beach right from the "Les Lataniers Bleus" garden belongs to the most private & nicest ones we have visted and seen during our stay.
The ladies offer you lunch & dinner, that you can be part of as long you like to, since it´s not a must.
You decide every morning yourself.
It´s always a perfectly cooked, nicely arranged & tasteful meal made by a local that knows the "mauritian creole cuisine" from her own home.
Anyways, much better than any other restaurant we´ve been to - esp. price in comparison to what you get.
If 20h00-21h00 is not to late for your dinnertime, than you shouldn´t miss it !
After long days out, scuba diving, hiking, sightseeing etc. starting at 06h00-07h00 in the morning we missed it many times, since we were already sleeping & too knackered :-)

We both would give it 10 out of 10 possible stars ! *****
Go and find out yourself !

If you want to experience Mauritius without retired golfers and honeymoon couples, this is the place. Les Lataniers Bleus is a quiet gem by the sea with a fantastic view and a natural atmosphere, all being orchestrated by Josette. The dinner here is a social event where you explore both Mauritian life and small or larger problems of the world. I will miss the warmth of Josette and the magical African sunset.

Just finished a 2 week stay at Les Lataniers Bleus. We had a wonderful time, meeting different people of many nationalities, and put the world to rights over the long dining table in a selection of different languages. Josette, our hostess, was charming, and nothing was too much trouble for her or her staff. Highly recommended - a jewel in the Indian Ocean !

We looked for a local structure in Mauritius and we were very lucky in discovering it. Les Lataniers has its own quiet beach and beautiful gardens and dinner is available and taken on a long table on the veranda overlooking the sea with the other guests of all nationalities. Very funny!!
All people working there are very courteous and gentle.

Stayed with Josette for 3 nights in January and really enjoyed our stay.
The beach is next to deserted so we often were the only ones there, the rooms were nice and authentic with a french feel. You can eat each night with Josette and her husband which is highly recommended.

Lovely relaxing stay, you are made to feel at home and perfect to unwind from the everyday stress of modern life.

Thanks Josette for a great time.
