We visited Ottoman's for a drink whilst taking an evening walk and were made extremely welcome. We found that whether you were eating or just popping in for a beer they greeted you as friends and having seen the food that they were serving decided to check out the menu and return for a meal another night.
The menu is varied and reasonable. We saw 'lamb in clay pot' which they served to some other customers which looked and smelled amazing. The chef 'Happy' explained that they make the clay pots to use just the one time, and break off the top to serve the lovely slow cooked contents. 'Happy' regularly went shopping for fresh fish and local produce from Fethiye and the fish was amazing. We returned for a 'special' fish meal which was delicious. Calamari, mussels, prawns with sauces, and a whole Sea Bream and Sea Bass to share alongside Roast potatoes, salad and chips.. The manager then de-boned and served the fish whilst we got started which was fantastic. It was reasonably priced and we received a complementary homemade rice pudding dessert which was lovely. 'Happy' came for a chat every evening to improve his english and he was very interesting to talk to, and his english was very good.
I would highly recommend this restaurant for its hospitality and menu. The managers who are brothers and Happy the chef are absolutely lovely and we felt like firm friends by the end of our holiday. Please support this independent restaurant as they need our custom and they are well worth a visit.
