B&B Le Foglie d'Argento
Reviewed 13 November 2013

Pulling down the dirt road, past acres and acres of olive trees to get to the B&B building, you know this is going to be something special. And it is.

The building that houses the guest rooms is a separate, fairly newly constructed building and great care has been taken to make it feel like home (and the owners, likewise, made us feel right at home). There is a large common area downstairs, complete with a lovely outside patio, and a comfortable breakfast area. Our room was large and had a gorgeous view of the surrounding lush, green countryside dotted with olive tree groves. Everything (furniture, fixtures, etc.) felt and looked new, it was beautifully decorated, and the room was exceptionally clean. We slept like rocks in this room because it was so quiet, dark, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was larger than normal and came with a nice assortment of toiletries. Just outside our room was the access door to a large second floor terrace, which was great to spend time on to take in the scenery.

The pool area is likewise gorgeous and relaxing, as are the surrounding grounds and gardens. The pictures I've seen online from the B&B's own website and other sources give a very accurate depiction of what you will see and experience.

Now, a couple things: first, this is a rurally located B&B. This means it is quiet, serene, tranquil, and you will feel completely relaxed here. Parking is not a problem, and breakfast is superb, much of which is homemade using home-grown produce and freshly made baked goods. However, being rural means you will need to drive off the premises for dinner, so keep that in mind. We ate one meal in nearby Ribera (about 20 minute drive) and one in Caltabellotta, which is located about a 25 minute drive up a steep, winding hill. For us, it was totally worth the trade-off to stay here.

Secondly, we didn't study the map well enough before we set off to find the B&B, nor did our Garmin GPS support the coordinate's number format given by the B&B's website. The owner came to our rescue right away, but if need be, here are the coordinates we later found our Garmin would accept: N37 31.701, E013 14.724.

We would stay here again in a heartbeat and have no hesitation recommending it.

So they don't do meals. You can drive to the David Lynch style road restaurant 5 kms ahead (on the SP 115.)
So it is hard to find. The road is important, not the destination.

So the owners don't speak a lot of English. They are lovely and that's worth more than words.

The breakfast is fabulous. Ask for some eggs and thou shall receieved.

Just go.

For the host couple Nema & Pippo we give 10+ for their friendly attention, local knowledge and good advise for seeing the whole Sicily and enjoying the gastronomy. Location between olive trees, very peaceful and with swimming pool. Room completely equipped including small details such as slippers, water cooker and a selection of teas. For breakfast you give your preferences and signora Nema fixes for you. Easily localized by GPS with map coordinates. Nema and Pippo also speak Spanish and some English. Certainly good value for money.

This is a beautiful B and B in an excellent location, in the midst of an olive tree orchard. The pool is always spotless, and well looked after. The breakfast at a big table is fabulous with fresh cakes most days, fresh fruit and fine coffee. The hosts are helpful and friendly. The seaside is a short drive away with good sandy beaches.

The best thing about this hostel is its beautiful location. The clean swimming pool is surrounded by rolling hills of olive groves and it is possible to see the sea and the old town caltabellotta which sits on top of the mountain. The breakfast was the best we've had, with fresh brioche, cakes, fruit and a section of juices. There was also a lovely space at the front of the hotel where you could spend time.

nice and quiet B&B between sciacca and caltabellotta. nice owners and delicious breakfast.
because it's a way from the street you have a beautiful view over the olives trees and the moutainvillage from a large terras. it's next to a agriturismo so i suppose you can eat there in the tourist season. They are planning to have a swimmingpool so in the summer it will be nice.

Four of us stayed at this excellent B&B for three nights, and wished we'd been able to stay for many more. Our hosts were very accommodating and made us feel completely at home. Their B&B is exceptional in terms of location (olive grove), location (minutes to the beach), comfort and relaxation. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Le Foglie d'Argento B&B to anyone. In fact, at least two of us have promised to return.
