We stayed at the Hackness Grange last summer, shortly after it had gone into administration. We had bought a deal through KGB. The hotel is tucked away in a lovely spot.
The property itself is a very grand property in need of a little TLC. Our room was in the Courtyard overlooking the yard itself and although it had seen better days, we were not disappointed. It merely added to the beauty of the place.
The restaurant serves excellent quality food. We had a lovely evening meal, and the breakfasts were excellent value too.
Outside, the property sits in lovely gardens, complete with Lake, Tennis Courts and Pitch and Putt Golf. The Tennis Courts had seen better days, but we made the most of them and enjoyed our game. It was lovely to sit out on the patio area in front of the hotel and look out across the lake. Very peaceful and relaxing.
Despite the obvious need for a little money needing to be spent on the old place, this is a lovely character hotel with great potential, and definitely worth the visit. We would most certainly return again, especially if we can get hold of another voucher deal, a steal at £99!
