“Not going back..”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 July 2011

We booked this hotel for 5 nights and we stayed there only 1 night, we changed the hotel after the first night since we really couldn´t sleep there. The room was so small that you can hardly turn there, and the door opened straight to the corridor. The bed was small and hard, very uncomfortable. All the noise from other rooms, corridor and from the yard bothered us all night. After the animation, some of the guests stayded at the hotel yard drinking and shouting. The breakfast and the staff were ok. Anyway, if you are looking for peace and quiet, this hotel is really not for you.

Room Tip: Rooms are very small, door openes straght to corridor.

used to visit the island around 3 / 4 times p.a. and this year we spend 9 nights at the amapola hotel and the value is ok. the rooms are not really big, but clean and the service staff is really kind and helpful. but nevertheless: EVERYBODY needs to pay for ice, etc. hence no really "all inclusive" available in the hotel.
hotel is not far away from the beach - 5 min walk - but also next to a lake = a lot of mosquito bites... :(
food is ok, but not really great. almost no spanish food, focused on german visitors. ok for kids, because they love pasta & ice. ;)

if your kids like playing at the beach, playa de muro (5min from the hotel) is perfect. no really big waves, around 50 meters into the ocean to walk are easy for kids - no need in checking every 2 seconds if the kids are alive. ;)
on the other hand the north east of the island is a good start if you like hiking are tours around the tramuntana mountains, cap de formentor or old cities like alcuida.

conclusion:
if you need to be on budget the hotel is a good choice. but we wont visit it a 2nd time!

Hotel located in a pleasant position over looking a little lagoon, if ur fortuitous sufficient to get a room overlooking the lagoon the outlooks are magnificent. Just over five minute to walk to the sandy shore and shops. The sandy shore can be very engaged, loungers costing any thing upto 10 euros for the day. Shops comprise of overpriced Spar stores, souvineir stores and vehicle rentals. Reccommend buying round before buying any thing as charges alter spectacularly from shop to shop. Reccommend walking an additional 10 mins along the Fotages in the direction of Porto Alcudia where you will find a shopping centre for the local people where everything is half the price. Resterantes comprise of steak and seafood dwellings, pizza locations and burger kings. Just around the corner from the hotel is a pony travel for the children and apparantly a Maze, which we have yet to find. The hotel itseif was very clean with good outdoor amenities, a pleasant clean pool with tennis and mini golf. The Breakfast was mean, morning meal comprises of a alternative of either a prepared food morning meal or the usual continental breakfast. Dinner varies throughtout the week with allotments to select from at the buffet. I would defineately not reccommend going half board as you may have problem getting a drink with your serving of food as these have to be payed for and all the waiters are hurried off the feet catering for the all inclusive Germans. A phrase of alert - if you would like any nourishment to be left I propose getting to the dining room 5 minutes early beacause there is alot of impelling and shoving from the Germans. We furthermore sensed abit painful assisting us to the buffet as wee were only residing on a half board cornerstone and the waiters are inclined to watch what you are doing most of the time. Entertainment was a bit cheesy and tacky but very excels amusing kids. Most of the amusement is catered for Germans being their large-scale source of income. This was really my first visit and anticipated there to be alot more brits but in genuine detail, there was only 2 english families in our Hotel, encompassing us, as they Catered mostly for germans the Hotel wasn't actually involved in the brits making us seem like second class visitors particularly as we were only on a half Board cornerstone and the germans were all inclusive. Even the satalite TV passages were all german. If you are stayin here I would suggest against utilising the hotel's reccomended excursions as they are catered for germans and are somewhat more expensive. I Would reccommend No-frills excursions, an all english talking trip coach which presents a broad veriety of journeys to match everyone. The employees is very helpful and make you seem at home. During our visit we went on 3 of their excursions and only desire we had gone on more to get us away from the hotel. I seem that no-frills had kept what would be a very dull vacation while residing at the amapola. Alot of the visitors are hungry, they impel and thrust, are blaring and believe the own the place.Which made us seem very painful and cheesed off. If you do stay at this hotel, u should proceed all inclusive!I would reccomend that you stay in either Alcudia as playa de muro is a bit out of the way and there is more to do there.no frills-excursions.com

Got a fantastic deal to stay at this hotel, very cheap. We were only English there but everyone very friendly, reps are multilingual so no problem, Entertainment is basic but they worked hard.
Best thing thing about the hotel was the food. Was amazing for a 3 stay hotel, varied menu and tasted fantastic. Good location too, 5 mins to beach

We stayed at this hotel from 16th September to 23rd September 2008, one of the main reasons for booking this hotel was it said evening and children's entertainment was provided and as our little girl was 3 we thought this would be ideal, however, although kids discos were scheduled none of them actually happened..... which was very disappointing and the adult entertainment wasn't good. The hotel itself was lovely and the staff were friendly... on arrival at the hotel (approx 10pm) the reception guy showed us into the dining room where food, wine and beer had been put aside as we had missed dinner.  Personally we would not stay at this hotel again as it is primarily an all inclusive hotel for german people and does not cater well for families. Also, we booked this hotel through flyglobespan and is states that this hotel is based in Alcudia which it isn't.... this hotel is in a quieter part called Playa De Muro and is approx 10 mins taxi ride away from the main town of Alcudia.   The beach in Playa De Muro is lovely and there were nice pubs and restaurants nearby.

Arrived at the hotel at 11.50pm to find there was no room for us and had to spend the first night in another hotel approx 200metres away and couldn't get into our room until the following afternoon, so we lost a day of our holiday. As a result got upgraded to all inclusive, apparently this is a regular occurance here. The hotel was very clean and well looked after, almost all other guests were Germans and the food is mostly catering for them.Wouldn't recommend this hotel for the British as you feel out of place.
