“Great hotel, great location - fab!”
Reviewed 28 July 2010

We were looking for something in a "quieter" area (not full of clubbers!) with a nice pool, access to a nice sandy beach and within easy reach of buses, taxi's etc to get around. We weren't disappointed.
The hotel is as close to the beach as is possible; out the reception doors, past the pool, over the lawn (with loungers too) and there you go, on the beach. And what a nice bit of beach too. Absolutely lovely. One thing I thought was really nice was there wasn't the 'barrage' of shops facing the beach you get in some resorts, it was all hotels/apartments so you didn't feel you had to be spending all the time! There were things to do from the beach for the more adventurous if required. Banana boats, boat trips etc Lovely clean shallow water, perfect for bobbing about and generally having fun.
The food was very good really, we are fussy and always found something to eat. Mostly quite impressed actually! (I did try rabbit which I would not try again!)
The rooms were as you expect really. Clean and tidy, TV, mini bar/fridge, A/C (with doors shut), not a double bed in ours though but it was fine. Boring I know but there were 3 english tv channels, basically 1, 2 and 3 which I thought was excellent. Good selection of towels was provided and the shower was really good (wanted to take it home!). Our room on the back side of the hotel so overlooked the back of some apartments or something, I did have a bit of a moan about that but to be honest I was actually glad as it was very peaceful and overlooking the pool can be a bit noisy from past experience! Also the balconies didn't get much sun (few hours after tea on our side) though none looked like they got much sun to be honest. There were plenty of other places for sunbathing! And actually its quite nice not to be cooking all the time.
I was concerned before we went that we would hear ambulances all the time as the hospital is close by but honestly I think I heard one, so worried for nothing there!
I took another reviewers advice and went to Salesca car place across the road, nice cars good prices - great! Went to Formentor and Soller though I would only recommend the mountain roads for those with confidence, they are nice but a little scary, especially if you meet a coach on a 180 degree bend! Otherwise go the long way round on the motorway.
Someone else's review says it is full of German's at the hotel, we did find there weren't many English but no one nationality stood out for me. Plus it was nice to have a bit of peace!
There is also an English Pub just 100m away from the main door who do a good breakfast if you get up late, we ate there a couple of times and it was all good. Also there is a large Spar style shop in front of the English bar, it has everything but is expensive compared to the tiny little shop on the other side of the road - go to the little shop for water, pop, beers etc
Overall the hotel was really good, we loved the location and the beach itself.
(I will definitely consider going back there when I have some kids as the beach is just perfect)

This hotel has a beach-side location in a quiet area of Mallorca south of Alcudia.
Its extensive gardens have a sufficient number of "loungers/sun-beds" for the hotel and adjacent appartments.
The white sandy beach lies just beyond the hotel gardens and has a large number of sun loungers and umbrellas for hier (around 15 euros per day). It is spotlessly clean.

A wooden pier extends from the beach and boat trips, lasting from two to four hours, may be booked at the pier.
Pedalows, sailboarding, jetski-ing, Bananna boats, Parascending can be enjoyed witin a reasonable distance along the beach.

The hotel has two, professionally supervised, pools outside and an indoor, heated pool as part of a Spa complex - free of charge to guests.

A poolside "games" area with Table-tennis, snooker table and "air hockey" table is also available; a child-friendly play area is also provided and a "Crazy-golf" course and tennis court are provided beyong the childrens' swimming pool.

Meals are buffett style and the quality and variety of food was excellent both at breakfast and dinner. A table is allocated to each family on the first evening for the complete "stay".

Reception and all staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel manager "circulated" from breakfast - ythroughout the day until the varied evening entertainment in the evening.

Rooms are well appointed with most having a full or side sea view from the balcony.

Morning and afternoon activities are arranged for adults and children every day - supervised by qualified and enthusiastic staff.

We had a most enjoyable holiday with our 9 year old grandson.

A highly recommended holiday hotel and resort.

We spent 10 days in Los Principes in 2009 with our two sons aged 9 and 6 and loved it so much that we returned this year for another glorious 10 days. Just got back last night.

We have been in mallorca many times and haven't stayed anywhere that we have been so content. The hotel is located on playa de muro beach - one of the best in mallorca and is also within walking distance or a short cab ride from the port of alcudia.
The staff are warm, friendly and efficient. The food - top notch (and we are Fussy) Usually we like to eat in spanish restaurants but we couldn't find anywhere nearby where the food was compatible so this year we ate in the hotel every evening. Plenty to keep us all entertained with a glorious swimming pool, well equipt gym, mini golf, tennis court and for those quiet moments a delightful spa.
We highly recommend this place on one hand, but on the other we would like to keep it quiet - just for ourselves........

I was looking for a hotel on the beach, virtually, with swimming pools and things for young children. As grandparents we travelled with my daughter and granddaughter aged 4 so the holiday was geared with them in mind. We didn't want to travel around the area just stay and enjoy the hotel and facilities. The beach is lovely. The two pools were good. The hotel was clean and staff very pleasant. The food was of a good standard but obviously buffet food is a case of getting up and down a lot. Coffee, tea delivered to the table.
It had a nice family atmosphere the week we were there which was the half term holiday.
The 45 minute evening entertainment for kids started at 8.15pm with all the family around and was geared for the under 10's. 9.15 was other entertainment and was okay.
A bike hire company was beside the hotel and a lot of people were hiring bicycles.
We could'nt fault the hotel. the rooms at back of hotel dont have a great view but quiet so take your pick.
lots of nationalities especially German but all lovely people.

Just got back from los principes the pluses are great beach views lots of sun beds very clean pool areas wash every day Good mix of age groups lots of nationalities . food something for everyone good snack bar not over priced. Had a single room a good size with double bed and sea view .Hotel very clean staff friendly spoke good English.
Be aware of mosquitoes and other flying insects even when sun bathing they are a pest.
Good selection of shops in area close to bus stop lots of buses to other areas. The main road is very busy lots of crossing but most cars don't stop for you.
Entertainment not exciting but must be hard to cater for all nationalities. Hotel arranges cycling and hiking holidays it also has a spa and a small gym.

Very relaxing time had a this hotel. Very friendly and professional staff.
I arrived around 9.30pm and they had left a selection of cold cuts out in the restaurant along with a large bottle of water for me. Brilliant!!
I asked to change rooms on the first night and it was done so without any dramas. I got a nice pool view and a bonus double bed.
Lovely bathrooms with big fluffy towels. Very clean and spacious room.
They have 2 indoor pools, one in the spa and another in the garden area. It's literally on the beach and there is plently of room to lie out. Beach very clean and clear waters, though too cold in March for swimming!!! I did'nt try.
The ONLY thing is as with all hotels, it seems, is that the sound-proofing is non existent and you can hear alot from adjoining rooms. The guests were pretty quiet though, so not too much of an issue. I would take ear plugs next time though, just to get a really good kip.
I'd recommend this hotel for adults or families with older children. Not much outwith the hotel. Car hire would be a good idea.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the friendly reception staff and the check in procedure was painless. The staff throughout our stay were very helpul and always polite.

Room wise, they were spacious and spotless. Containing 3 beds even though they were single rooms (but in March it wasn't overly busy I guess), a small balcony (with an awful view though) and a reasonably sized bathroom with decent shower. Also present was a tv which had 20 channels (3 in English BBC1, BBC2 and ITV) the ITV turned out to be ITV4 and the signal on that channel was poor.

Extras in the room, included tissues, shoe shine, comb and shower cap. No tea/coffee or bottled water though, which can be annoying if like me you like a cuppa first thing.

Internet connection is not free, but you can buy a weekly pass for if I remember correctly about 15 euros so that is cheap enough. There are 2 PC's available if you just want a quick 15 mins to catch up on emails etc, which costs 1 euro for 15 mins, so again not too bad.

We had bed and breakfast, so experienced the restaurant. Everything was well organised and it was a buffet breakfast, although hot food was average at best. Plenty of choice of cold items though, plus tea/coffee, toast and fruit. Again the staff were very polite and friendly.

We also had a few drinks in the bar and some snacks, service could be slow, but again I guess the time of year we went they weren't expecting any sort of rush. Price wise, food and drink wasn't really anymore expensive than outside.

Location wise I guess it's what you really want that will determine that, it was ideal for the beach and if you wanted maybe a few drinks in a few bars. If you are after a holiday where you want lots of shops/bars/clubs within 5 mins walk and to be out till 3 or 4 in the morning, then it is not a great location. The port of Alcudia is a good 40 min walk away and the nearest place were there was more than a couple of bars/shops is at least a 20 mins walk away.

Finally if you are English, then you will be vastly outnumbered by other Europeans, mainly from Germany, Switerland and Austria, it is extremely popular with people from these country as many of them cycle and hike and it is a great base for biking and hikings lovers and trips are organised for them from the hotel.

We did stay here in March 2010, so the weather wasn't great and Alcudia area itself wasn't that lively, but then as I say it was March so to be expected I guess. During the peak season it does look like Alcudia is a very busy place with plenty to amuse those who like a pub/club holiday, but you might want to stay closer to those areas.
