“Excellent value for young to old!”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

Just returned from a 10 night holiday to Lagotel in Mallorca and thought I'd post my opinion on the hotel to try and help others. I travelled with my family (hubby, mum and dad both nearly 70 and our 2 children aged 14 and 10 years). We flew out with Easyjet from Gatwick - very quick and easy flight. The transfer was via coach and took about 2 hours as we had other drop offs first. We arrived in the early hours of the morning and was given the option to go to the restaurant for some food that had been saved for us. This really wasn't necessary but was very much appreciated to be thought about. My parents had a double room in the hotel which had recently been upgraded and so was modern and fresh. We on the other hand had booked a one bedroom apartment which is located in a block right next door. This was a much bigger space to accommodate four of us but it is rather dated but suitable for what we needed and was mainly clean - although there could've been more attention to detail in some areas but this didn't affect our stay. So the holiday began and as the hotel was fully booked it was very busy and populated with people and children of all ages and nationalities. All food is buffet style and again suitable for what we wanted - none of us ever went hungry! It's a very difficult task to cater for so many people and you're not going to please everyone all of the time but our experience at all breakfasts and dinners (we didn't use the restaurant at lunchtime) was always a positive one. You will have to queue for your food but again this didn't worry us. It does get busy early evening so be prepared. The entertainment was good - some better than others but again we were all kept smiling! There's much for the kids and adults to do during the day with activities being offered during the morning and afternoon - it's up to you if you want to join in - you won't get bullied into participating and made to feel guilty about just wanting to relax and sunbathe or read a book! The teams work very hard and always have time for you. Soft drinks, slushes and milk shakes are all self service with the option of beer, wine and sangria during the day on tap for adults and a bar service providing very large local spirits and cocktails in the evening - again all very good! The pool is clean but very cold! It certainly cools you down in the hot weather but the kids didn't seem to mind! One downside was the running for sun beds in the morning! The pool areas are locked at night and reopened at 9am when people have been queuing but any thought of order is totally forgotten as kids and adults scramble to get their golden spot! we did manage to get beds when needed but it was sometimes comical to watch others - sometimes by actually jumping in the pool to try and get across first! This is not something that the hotel sanction it's the guests themselves who make this silly situation. I'm sure we only experienced it at it's worse because it is peak season. It did get annoying when beds were reserves and then not used til some hours later - I think it would be a good idea for the hotel management to consider removing peoples belongings after a certain time if they are not used by way of trying to prevent this from happening. The location of the hotel is perfect - not on top of another hotel or troubled by traffic etc. it is right next to a lake which does smell but this seems to be less noticeable as your stay continues. The beach is about 10-15 minutes walk away as is other restaurants and shops. There is a regular free shuttle bus from the hotel throughout the day but we actually enjoyed the walk. A restaurant to visit if you fancy a night eating out is Las Palmeras which is in the way to the beach. Food, staff, drink and cost is all fab you'll be sure to have a great visit and leave with a very full stomach! The beach is lovely - a very welcome breeze! It costs just over 10 euros to hire two beds and a parasol for the day so very reasonable. The sea is lovely and shallow so ideal for families. There are activities available at a price and depends in how adventurous you are! To sum up I would definately recommend this hotel for a great family stay in a lovely location with acceptable accommodation and food and great staff. At the end of the day this is a 3 star hotel and is priced as such - a holiday is what you make it and we made it great! Will most certainly return in the future! Thank you Lagotel! ☺️

Room Tip: Opt for a double twin or family room in the main hotel if you want a more modern feel but if you wan...

Got back a few hours ago and missing it already, food was good lots of choice but got a bit boring as the week went on, could not fault the restraunt staff, always cleaning tables and the chefs always replenishing foods so was always hot and fresh. Had a section for children aswell so was good. Drinks selection was fantastic, help yourself to soft drinks (Pepsi,7up etc) slushies, wine, sangria and beer also coffee and juice machines. At night time you could order spirits and cocktails at the bar they had a good selection (recommend the amaretto).
The snack bar was good, usual hot dogs, burgers, chips but preferred the restraunt, only problem was the restraunt did not open till 1:30 so would of been better if it was open earlier.
The pools were nice, not happy with the sunbed situation, my family members went to go down at9 as the gates were opening and people saw the other gates being opened so they were jumping and running to get sunbeds, people were running everyday it was a bit pathetic and then the beds would have towels on them most the day while those people went down the beach, something needs to be addressed here. (Must note hotel was fully booked)
The entertainment was good, my 2 year old loved the mini disco and bingo was a good laugh.
The beach was a lovely 10 min walk away although there is a free shuttle bus every 30 mins.
Another problem which cannot be helped much is that the corridors are all open for 6 floors, you can hear every flip flop, knock, laugh, cry it just echoed and people did not have respect as they were leaving the hotel in the middle of the night to catch there flight.
All in a fab holiday, wish there was a bit more for my 2 year old, maybe a soft play area? As one morning it was raining and wasn't,t a lot for him to do.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the lake as less quieter.

Very clean, excellent choice of food every day, be prepared to queue for a sunbed, 2 lovely big clean swimming pools, good entertainment, plenty for everyone to do in the hotel. In a quiet resort but taxis and buses available if you want to venture . Excellent for kids who can help themselves to drinks and snacks from 10am - 5pm daily.

We are a couple in early twenties and have just returned from a fantastic stay at Lagotel between the 20th - 26th July 2014. Everything from the area to the hotel, food and room was brilliant.
The beach is a 10 minute walk from the hotel (there is a shuttle bus from the hotel thats runs every half an hour). The nearest beach is playa de muro, lovely beach, clear water and we always managed to get sun beds although it can at times be busy. There are also quite a few restaurants and shops located around the beach and a market in the evenings. However the best place to go for a great choice of restaurants is Port de Alcudia (less than 10 mins on the bus from the beach and 1,50 euros).
Our favourite restaurant at the Port and well worth a visit is Bellavista, we visited twice.
We went all inclusive and the food was excellent. Breakfast consisted of full english, continental and a choice of fruit or pastries. Lunch was provided and choice was also good, burgers, pasta, nuggets and salad and fish. However, most days we stayed by the pool and ate at the snack bar. This had burgers, hotdogs, nuggets, pizza, pasta and chips which was a nice extra which meant you could stay by the pool and ice cream available from 12 each day. There was also a great selection of food at dinner including paella, meatballs, fish and roast beef dinner with all the trimmings. The 'no shorts' rule for men is not enforced so providing you’re not in swim wear you are fine. Drinks included soft drinks (7 up, pepsi etc.) as well as slush puppies, hot drinks and wine, beer and sangria.
Our room was fantastic, clean, comfortable beds, a fridge and good air con system. We had a view of both pools which was perfect as we enjoyed listening to the music. Entertainment and music always finished just before midnight and we didn’t notice any noise after that. We only stayed in one night and were able to watch the entertainment from our balcony. There seems to be a good selection for all ages, a mini disco and bingo every night followed by the main act (we saw a tribute to abba).
There’s loads of activities in the hotel complex, we played mini golf a few times which only costs 2 euros a go.
There are two pool areas to choose from, we preferred the pool across the road as it was quieter. The pools open at 9am, no reserving of sun beds before that time but there is a queue at 9am with people reserving sunbeds.
Overall we had a fantastic holiday and would recommend the hotel and area to anyone

Just returned from 10 nights at lagotel, it was very good! No mozzies, apparently due to the lack of rain recently, so all good on that front. We had to wait a while for our room on arrival, but we could change and lock away our luggage so the kids were straight in the pool, so no biggy, but if you do arrive in the morning, expect a delay here in peak season. The food was ok, plenty of choice, some days better than others but always something to eat. Well catered for children in the restaurant, our 3 always ate well. Breakfast very good, cheese plates brilliant at lunch and dinner. We thought on the whole they did a great job. Fabian and the entertainment team very good with the kids, our son who is 6 loved football in the evening for 2 euro, the girls (5 and 9) had lots of fun dancing the night away. The bingo was really good fun..even though I had never played before! Good money to be won too. Entertainment in the evening varied from terrible to pretty good, it was what you made it to be honest, but you need to get out early to get a table. We had a two bed apartment (638). It was near the lift but no noise bothered us, and the room size, cleanliness and decor all very good AC a welcomed bonus. The music goes on until about 12 but it didn't bother us at all. The kids stayed up until the entertainment had finished and then went to bed without issue and we sat on the balcony and had a glass of bubbles most nights (bought from on site shop for less than 5 euro). All in all, the holiday was very good, what we expected for the amount we paid and then some! The beach at cala de muro very good only a ten min walk and aqua park at alcudia also good. Hope you all have a great time.

Room Tip: We are a family of 5 so booked at two bed apartment which was excellent.

Start by saying had a great 2 week holiday with our large group/family there.
on the whole a good all inclusive holiday and 'Fabio' and the entertainment team were brilliant. A very funny and nice bloke - totally gets the Humour and a straight talker - thumbs up
The room was cleaned every day(except sundays) fresh towels when needed although the Spanish drain smell takes getting used to :(
the majority of staff were friendly and helpful, the food was plentiful although not top notch its a 3 star so don't expect alacart but we enjoyed it.
MAJOR DOWN SIDE - WIFI SUCKS BIG TIME - only place is in reception and even then bad, think it should be all over as was advertised to us before going, poolside could have been washed down properly at end of day as it got sticky as days went on with kids spilling etc. but the pools themselves(6 of them) was enjoyable, although be down about 0830-0845 to grab a sunbed as its dog eat dog
outside toilets could have been cleaned more regular as gets very wet on floors due to pool swimmers etc
Don't get me wrong don't be put off, the majority is all thumbs up , all our family didn't want to leave as its relaxed, all laid on and only thing you have to do is help yourself to drink and food.

on one note the free bus could do with a driver who smiles but its regular and only ten min ride to a great beach.
recommend a glass bottom boat trip and 'The Swan pub'
would defo go again but think the small points I brought up would top the holiday off if applied.

Room Tip: try not get a room by lifts as loud when everyone going to bed, but all levels have a lift to them s...

We are currently on our 2nd holiday here.

Were are on a 2 week stay. Last year we only stayed for one week.

We had an excellent first week and also a great holiday last year. The only thing for us is that the second week has become very repetitive. This isn't the hotels fault, as there is loads going on here but for us and the age range of our children (1 and 6) the routine has become a bit boring.

The rooms are always clean and have been updated over winter as are newer than last year.

Pools are great (we are mainly at breezers pools)

Good choice of food (although boring after a week) and we have ended up eating out a couple of times.

Beach is 10 mins walk and really nice.

We met some great people on the first week which made it that much better!

For a week holiday for us this is a perfect hotel, and we will probably return but only for a week next time.
