We had a lovely stay at La Dorada resort. Very clean and nice apartment rooms. Pool area were fantastic. Very serviceminded och nice staff. We will come back next year.

Room Tip: Book a room with pool view. The rooms facing the natural reserve ( or swamp) has a very boring view...

On arrival we were given a room as we had asked for overlooking the pool.
Staff in all areas of the hotel are very helpful .
On a minus point you will get constantly asked by the entertainment staff if you wish to take part in activities within the complex this is ok if you went for this type of holiday but not if you want to read a book and relax !
The accomodation itself is very clean and modern with maid service every day making beds and changing towels .
The pool and grounds at the complex are immaculate and if you wake up early enough you will notice staff working away to ensure this.
The restaurant was the major disappointment the food was plentiful but poor quality a few times I had to be very careful with the meat dishes because of bone fragments which for a child could be dangerous so please be careful.
Overall the hotel is a great experience and ideal for families with young children as the staff are very professional and the children will be occupied all day by a wonderful array of activities .
But my advice is take the self catering option.

Just returned from 10 days at the Dorada. Hotel complex was nice and kept tidy. The highlights being the pool and sun lounge areas. Plenty of room even at 11am. Food at the pool bar was good and reasonably priced. Did have an awful ice cream which they made up as it contained warm cream and processed fruit!!
Hotel room was modern, clean and comfortable. TV channels were aimed for teh German market but did have BBC1 and CBBC available as the only English main channels. They also showed a continuous loop of about 12 Pixar movies in English on another channel which did drive you mad after a week or so. The only complaint was the self-catering issue. The kitchen was so small which made preparing a meal almost impossible and had no oven apart from a conventional oven. This limited the choice of meals you could cook and there was not much range in cutlery. certainly not suitable for a family with more than 3 to cook for. Rooms were kept cool with air-conditioning and kept clean with frequent changes of towels by the maids. the main bar was reasonable price and the service was good. The entertainment was varied. Sometimes there were outside acts and other nights would be entertainment by the children's entertainers which was the same every night. On that note, the children's entertainers were superb with the kids during the day time.
We hired a car and you did not have to travel far the eat out on decent and good priced meals. Avoid the Spar shop when you leave the hotel and is on the right side of the junction. It is a complete rip off. Try the Eroski or the Mercdona in Aludia for half the prices.
There were a few mosquitoes present but nothing extreme an that can't be any fault of the hotel.
In summary, a lovely holiday with our 4 year old. Not suitable for teenagers. A few minor issues but the overall stay was pleasant and relaxing

Room Tip: Ask for Poolside. Shields against the Mosquitos!

Fantastic holiday, we did a buget airline so our luggage allowance was 15kg, so i did try and find out a few things before we went but couldn't, so here they are..... there are towels in the bathroom (changed for fresh if left in bath) beach / pool towels for hire,(changed at request) all bed linen (good quality beds and bedding). we were self catering and there were plenty of small shops close to hotel, but if you take the bus to the Waterpark (about 5 stops towards Town) at about 75E, there is a Lidle! excellent if large family on budget. The facillities for Kids was great, during the day and upto 11pm with the evening entertainment. There was a charge for the safe in the room, which i thought was a bit high 16E. beach was 2 mins away with shades at a small cost.
All in all, great time was had, i wish i could afford to go agian!

I am here at the hotel right now. Here are the abbreviated highlights and low lights:
- Lovely pools - with friendly life guards
- Great staff - kids entertainers and reception
- Lovely SC apartments - modern decor and lighting
- Very near the beach - typical white sand, gentle waters for youngsters (paragliding and jet ski's available - or pedello's for the less extreme
- Indoor pool and gym ideal for poor weather days
- Free wifi - reliable - using it right now
- Off to try the buffet for the first time tonight, but not heard anyone complain
- Entertainment - family friendly - typical mini disco, parrot show, etc

On the downside:
- Local store OK, but not enough variety - Recommend taxi or 2.8 mile walk to Lidl and stock up
- Avoid Texmex - over priced, under cooked, awful service - even the staff at hotel warned us
- Poor range of channels on TV for kids - only needed for an hour while mum's getting changed before heading out on an evening.
- Saw two people with feet cut in pool area, but at least the 1st aiders where quick to respond and divers sent into pool to fix/repair if anything found
- No oven or grill in any of the self catering apartments

In summary - good enough, not extraordinary, but fine for a budget holiday - would come again, but would possibly suggest Ibiza or Canaries to ensure better weather.
