“Will be back”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 November 2011

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for one week but quickly wished it was two. The suite was just perfect overlooking the pool and had a white leather suite which was really nice as most hotels of supposedly same standard have the usual boring brightly coloured material. The location is across a busy road from a lovely long white sandy beach and there are plenty eateries and bars in the area. The hotel bar has the white leather theme throughout and the staff new how to make various cocktails with a smile always. Breakfast was very nice and the whole hotel was very clean with very polite staff at reception, breakfast and bar. For the more energetic it it a nice walk along the beach, maybe around 45 minutes from Playa de Muro to Alcudia or for the less energetic it was a short bus ride ( bus stop outside hotel) or an even shorter taxi ride. There is plenty of choices for food and drink in Alcudia but we likes a few little local places, you can tell they are very good by how popular they are.
All in all we both loved this hotel and tried to book up for the winter only to find it was closed for the season,oh well.
We Will Be Back!

Room Tip: I would recommend a suite

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent holiday at Las Gaviotas Suites Hotel. We found the hotel staff very friendly and extremely helpful and the hotel was bright, airy and clean with a nice cosmpolitan atmosphere. The food was excellent with a very good choice to suit all tastes. The swimming pool areas and gardens were well tended and there were plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. There are lots of shops and restaurants close to the hotel and the beach was a short distance away. There are bus stops outside the hotel which makes it easy to visit Palma and the North Coast Resorts. It is a very pleasant stroll to the Port of Alcudia along the path on the beach. We look forward to returning to Las Gaviotas in the future.

We stayed here right at the end of the season. In fact the hotel closed for the winter on our last day. This did not detract in any way from the experience. From the moment we arrived tha staff could not do enough for us, despite there only being a few people left staying there.
The rooms are to be seen to be believed, absolutely amazing. I have stayed in similar rated hotels all over the world but this rates as one of the very best. I don't know how they can charge these prices. Would be much much more anywhere else. The staff were brilliant, especially the two reception staff, Anita I think one was called from Poland I think. She was brilliant and the other lady whose name eludes me was equally as brilliant. Could not do enough for us.
The rooms are amazing, I think ours was number 328 at the back, absolutely massive, huge walk in shower, bathrobes, loads of posh toiletries, even a soft close toilet seat, massive bedroom, huge living room all white leather suites and the balcony, OMG!!!! absolutely huge with a great view at the rear of the huge pool, jacuzzi and spa pool further along. Loads of nice little touches which made you feel special. Water in the pool was a bit chilly but what do you expect for the end of October. The only downside was no spa, however the staff tell me that the hotel is putting one in for next season with a pool and everything, will be out of this world then. One little gripe we had was a lack of english channels on the tv in your room and no satellite channels, oh and the drinks at the bar were very expensive, but the surroundings at the bar made up for it a little. The food was excellent, freshly cooked and loads of it.
All in all it was a brilliant base for our mini break. There is not a lot to do in Alcdia at that time of the year but in the height of season you can imagine it to be buzzing.
Thanks very much to Las Gaviotas - probably the best hotel I have ever stayed in................BRILLIANT

Room Tip: Get a room at the back overlooking the huge pool. I think our room was 328. Amazing all round

We stayed at this hotel in October last year and enjoyed the peace and quiet of this hotel. This year, it was very busy with more children than the previous year. There is no activities for children a this hotel other than the swimming pool. Pools should be heated as they were very cold, I never went for a swim and that was disappointing. Our stay was enjoyable although the dining room was always packed but the food was very good. The had a suite, it was large and clean. The use of a fridge is ideal to keep drinks. The hotel is very clean, well situated for the beach and public transport. The resort was also more busy this year with places staying open till late. The big attraction is definitely the safe beach with miles of sand so we could have enjoyable walks daily. Will return to this hotel as we enjoy a quiet hotel.

Room Tip: There is no noisy room at this hotel, suites are a good choice as they are so roomy

We enjoyed our stay at the 4* Las Gaviotas hotel in Play de Muro, Majorca. It is very well situated being a short walk to a fabulous fine sandy beach with lots of sunbeds and parasols (8.50 euros per day). The buses stop right outside the hotel so travelling to anywhere on the island is easy. We travelled to Palma and back for 10 euros each.

We received a really warm welcome upon our arrival from Lena at reception and we were escorted to our room. The hotel is immaculately clean and is maintained to a very high standard throughout. The design is very modern with white walls, white tables in the restaurant and even a white leather settee in the room. Very few pictures adorn the walls which supports the simplistic, modern theme of the hotel. There are three swimming pools to choose from and two of them are situated at the back of the hotel in a beautiful area edged by a manicured lawn. You can enjoy tasty snacks from the pool bar in between splashing or swimming in the refreshing pool.

The quality of the food at the hotel is excellent although the choice of food is somewhat limited. This is a shame as sometimes it is difficult to find exactly what you are looking for or what you fancy. However, the chef does his best to keep you happy with his creative omlettes etc.

The size of the normal rooms are a little small being functional but not generous. However, there are lots of suites available which provide oceans of space filled mainly by a beautiful white/cream leather settee.

In summary, the Las Gaviotas Hotel is a very relaxing, convenient destination with lots of local travel options on your dorrsteps if you want a change of scenery. The food is excellent if somewhat limited in choice. There are few attractions for children but I feel this hotel would be an excellent choice for couples of all ages and certainly suitable for babies and very young children.

We enjoyed our stay at the Las Gaviotas Hotel and I'm sure that you will too,

Room Tip: Choose a suite for the extra room if possible.

Though this was a nice clean hotel it lacked the finesse of other 4* hotels we've stayed in. Little details let it down: they didn't replace the used toiletries in the bathroom, no shower caps, quality of the food was average.

Our stay was nice, the pools were spotless and the hotel was well-maintained, but the little details let it down.

We'd recommend the hotel, but as a 3*, not 4*.
