“Despite bad reports, we really enjoyed it.....”
Reviewed 7 August 2011

We had read reports on Trip Advisor and were dreading going on holiday!. Yes carpet does need replacing and rooms aren't that big, but everthing else was fine - it matched the rating it was given, if you want more you probably have to pay more.

Admittedly when we arrived we were disappointed with the food, but this was a one off, we found a tasty meal from a reasonable choice of good food every night.

We didn't eat inside for lunch - only once, as we used snackbar near the pool most of the time. you could eat as much or as little as you wanted.

Most of the drinks, except spirits/cocktails, are self service and whilst the wine wasn't outstanding quality everything else was great.

First time we have done 'all inclusive' and probably do it again - we did think about eating our for a change, but ended up not bothering.

Hotel entertainment was good for all the family, usual mini disco, bingo and variety of outside acts and hotel entertainers, we liked it but I suppose might not be to everyones taste. Day time activities were good, if you wanted to join in you could - something for all members of the family to do......great fun.

There was a busy road to cross to the beach, but there are also crossings to use - beach beautiful with fish visible from only a few metres out (if you swim to the end of the boardwalk you can look down and see them all around you).

Only downside for our holiday at the hotel was the fact we had connecting rooms with complete strangers (admittedly door is locked) but we could hear everything they said and vice versa... including the man next door snoring!....

Would we recommend hotel... yes we would.

OK, been on a few hols over the years and mainly half board so "all inclusive" was new for me, but I won't concentrate on that aspect but on all the aspects that others here miss out.

1st thing, were are you situated? You are just off the main road near Burger King and on the resort of Playa Du Muro rather than than Port of Alcudia itself. Heading out towards Can Picafor are boatloads of "nik nak" shops, Tabac shops etc... a walk to the beach is literally 4 mins, 100 yards, cross the main road, 100 yards and your there.

So onto the second point not really covered, Port Alcudia is a bus ride away, so at least a long beach walk away, although only 1.25 euros to get there is good value for money, and if that place was any more laid back it would be horizontal, VERY relaxed place to be and more cosmopolitan with plenty of street cafés, the odd pub and places to investigate, Marina is really nice as well. Shops are slightly cheaper in the local area compared to Port Alcudia as well.

In your local vacinity are a couple of bars which for a change of scenery were fantastic, I can not rave enough about "Posh Paddy's" which is around the corner, as the name suggests it's an Irish Pub with live music by Brendan O'Brian EVERY night, and the place is bouncing with every nationality under the sun having a good old sing song (as well as paying only 5 euro for 3 bottles of San Miguel). Kids are more than welcome.

There is another pub around the corner called The Swan which although has a few british beers is ran by spanish owners, not a problem though but one thing here..... BUY THE PIZZA!! Beautiful can not describe the pizza here (only 5 euro)

Beach is very safe for the kids, fine sand, and you can walk out easily a hundred yards and the kids are still only just getting water near the top of their chests (watch for the little silver fish that occasionally come for a cheeky nibble), when on the beach there is a guy that goes around selling fresh fruit such as melons and pineapples etc from the local shop in a wheel barrow.

The hotel, food great, plenty of variety (my fussy wife ate every session which is rare), and for the comments previously that mentioned chavs, that was certainly not the case for us, just plenty of people having a relaxing holiday, bathing in the sun, having a swim, having a few beers and watching the entertainment - which I might add is great for both kids and adults most nights.

Please don't be put off if you don't get a pool view as the other side of the hotel has a nice view of the mountains and you can sunbathe on your own bed on the teatime, giving you an extra couple of hours compared to both the pool and the other side of the hotel.

Slight criticism, the hotel needs an update on the carpets, that's my one and only negative point, and VERY minor. Staff are very helpful, bar is well stocked(Hussain is the main man), lager and wine on tap as well as soft drinks that you can get yourself, slushies(when machineworking) and ice creams all at your figertips....... what's not to like.

Overall a fantasic holiday, hoping to do a fortnight next year.

i stayed here with my partner and our 5yr old son and we had a really good time. the hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly. the entertainment staff worked extremely hard and did very long days. the food was good although it was a bit repetitive even though we could always find something to eat. it is a lovely hotel for families and most of the entertainment on a night was child friendly. i wouldnt hesitate recommending this hotel to friends as it is a nice hotel in a lovely resort and only a few minutes walk to the beach. alcudia is about half an hour walk away or there is a regular bus service but there is also plenty to see in playa de muro. we would definately return. the beer was self service and if there was ever a queue at the bar more staff quickly arrived but this rarely happened even at the busiest times. there was never a problem getting a sunbed as the pool area wasnt opened till 9am. a great holiday destination AA++

This was our second visit and we were not disappointed. If you want a quiet 5* holiday look elsewhere, but if you are after a good value family break then this is a good bet!

There is a great range of entertainment for all ages - the team led by Stein do a great job!

The hotel is always clean with really friendly staff - most of whom were there last year. The food is ok, again not 5*, but always plenty of choice with healthy options as well.

Only moan, beds are a bit hard and rooms on small side, but how much time do you spend in room anyway?

Mum+Dad in *cough* 40s, myself 19 and sister 22.
This hotel was excellent. Arrived at 3:30am and was taken care of instantly by friendly staff. Rooms are nicely cooled with great air con. Beds a little hard but easy to sleep in as the single beds are larger than normal singles. Bathroom great, shower and bath very good. Extremely clean, cleaners come everyday - fresh towels the lot. Staff in restaurant are incredible. They work so hard yet have a beaming smile every second. Bar staff are warm and up for a laugh. SELF SERVICE BEER! Brilliant! And for the shorts etc the bar staff will pour the alcohol until you say "when"! Quick and free to get a little giddy. Entertainment staff are fabulous. They have a great kids club, a great teens club and a great adult "club" too. Entertainers work very hard to keep all ages happy throughout the day. The night time entertainment some nights was definitely just for the kids but there were interactive entertainment for adults too. Should have some form of adult disco til late but that's all the hotel is lacking. I did enjoy learning the kids' dances though! Cannot fault the hotel at all. The other tourists there were fantastic too. Some cast of Jersey Shore there but were brilliant and there were no "chavs and scumbags" just the down to earth friendlies of the world.
The resort itself is incredibly beautiful. No high-rise buildings. The beach is in pristine natural condition, with shallow water right out beyond the pier (where you can pay to go on fantastic boat rides which I strongly suggest!!) The weather was fantastic too, which always helps. But even when it rained for about half an hour during one of the entertainer's performances they came out to entertain us all under the shelter until it stopped raining.
Alcudia Port is a short bus ride away (ask reception for directions to bus stop) which is the main touristy area with great pubs and clubs. Me and the family went on a Rep Night Out, organised by the Thomson crew which was incredibly fun, even for my parents!! I strongly suggest this if you have older kids with you too. There was an organised Magaluf trip too for those more daring.
Alcudia Old Town is gorgeous. Took a taxi which was about 7 Euro. Some fantastic Roman ruins and historical areas to see. To see how the Spanish actually live in their lovely houses down the little streets and little hidden shops and restaurants has actually made me seriously consider moving there in the future!
You must go here. Ignore the negative comments, they LIE I tell you. A holiday is what YOU make of it, and this hotel gives you every single opportunity to make it an absolutely incredible experience. Loved every single second of this 10 day holiday.

Room Tip: Take earplugs in case of noisy neighbours.

The hotel is about a hour transfer which isn't that bad at all as coach is comfortable. On arrival we was met with friendly staff and was seen to quite quick considering we was 4th in line to check in. We was given room key and on arrival at room it was very clean and had enough space for clothes, it is quite cramped especially if 4 of you in same room but as only 3 of us we could use top bunk bed as extra storage. Shower good but beds are not the most comfortabe only downfall in room. Food is good and i am quite fussy but thats my fault not the hotels but i always was well fed with enough choice and restaurant staff work very hard and are helpful. The entertainment team work very very hard and try to please everyone and yes some shows are a bit cheesy but they practice alot and you haven't paid to see peter kay and ricky gervais. The pool is chilly at first but once you are in its ok and more than enough sunbeds never had a problem getting one. The drinks are self service which is good unless you want shorts or cocktails which you get at the bar. The location is great with the beach only 5 mins walk and its lovely and you can walk out to sea for ages and its only up to your knees which is great for children. Alcudia is a fair walk but worth it or get a taxi for about 8 euros. We ate out a couple of nights which is quite expensive but the restaurant by beach leon roja is very good food and nice to see tide come in as you eat. Overall a very good hotel with beds the only problem but everything else well worth the price.
