“such a let down”
Reviewed 22 September 2013

we have just had 9 nights at this hotel and it has had to be the worst holiday ever , we booked through jet 2 and was a bit sceptical after reading previous reviews but decided to go with an open mind . the staff at newcastle were great the flight over was great the journey to hotel was great but thats were the greatness stopped . After a quick check in and a first glance at surroundings things looked ok but once we stepped out of the lift thats when the age of the hotel hit us , the carpet was dirty and worn with lots of stains on and yes some of you will say you dont go on holiday to look at carpets well neither do we but you cant help but notice them they are that bad .our room was very basic with what looked like old curtains covering them (the saving grace was that the room was clean )the tv was so old it should have been sent to a museum , there is no remote and if you do require one you have to pay extra this is the same is you require a kettle hairdryer and safe , we only purchased the safe which cost an extra 27 euros we paid extra on booking this holiday for a room wuth a sea view and we are still waiting on this as the balcony is just a block of concrete so you need to stand up to see anything and when you do you dont see much so please save your pennies as its a waste of time ,
The staff in the restuarant are all friendly and it is clean but thats only good thing about it , the food is shocking raw pork battered brocoli a toast machine that you have to stand and put your toast in for at least 5 mins just to get it warm never mind toasted steak and kidney pie that turned out to be chicken and ham the list goes on and on , now if your like me you enjoy making an effort to get dressed for dinner but i got to the stage were i gave up as evening meal was nothing to write home about infact i may as well have been in a road side cafe no atmosphere whats so ever no candles no glasses just the same cheap plastic ones used through the day and the same poor standard of food as breakfast and lunch you cant even get a cup for a hot drink after breakfast its foam throw away ones , the evening entertainment was the same boring stuff as prevoius nights yet megan and her team did try very hard and she always had a smile on her face . It really is something when you are already booking nexts years holiday when your still on this years ones. we for one will never return to continetal park and i would advise the owners and managers to sort out these issues as most people save all year for their holidays only to be let down , my advice to anyone thinking about going here is DONT save your money or give it to charity

Room Tip: pool view is just that nothing more definatly not sea view

ONCE UPON A TIME .... having read the reviews prior to travel, we tried to cancel our trip.As we had already checked in on line three days before departure we would not receive a refund,so with fear, worry, packed lunches , Shake And Vac and trepidation, we set off.........

Travelled from MIDDLESBROUGH via NEWCASTLE airport for our two and a half hour flight.Transfer took one hour fifteen minutes to hotel which included five hotel drops with ours being the final drop.Hotel appeared clean and reception staff did adequate job in sorting room , safety deposit and lime green all inclusive wrist bands. Our room was 508 , top floor overlooking mountains, other hotels and the large chimney belching smoke ....AHHHH... TEESSIDE revisited !!!.Room was large, clean ,well serviced ,ample towels ( changed everyday) and toiletries. The wardrobes were the largest we have come across in a Spanish hotel and the water very hot. The high balcony wall was regarded as a safety benefit rather than a sun block as you could sit in your room and STILL get a tan !

The food quality was MORE than adequate and there is no pickier eater than me. I have my five fruits a year whether i need them or not and 'ditto ' for vegetables-in fact i had five vegetables in one vegetable finger alone ...job done......I digress, the food was excellent with ample choices at breakfast, lunch, dinner and even the snack bar,( available all day) Roast chicken, Barbecued Chicken, Chilli, Steak and Kidney Pie, Paella,Yorkshire Pud., Salads, Fish.Nobody SHOULD have complaints about what is on offer at this hotel as there is more than enough choice to suit everyone's taste. The bar service was for spirits and cocktails only as you help yourself to beer ,wines and soft drinks-all served in half pint plastic glasses for safety reasons.Drinks were available from ten am until midnight, when the evacuation begins to get you back into the hotel and up to your room - no ten minute drinking up time in here.

The bar staff are very friendly and efficient, as are the dining room staff- my plate was never taken away before i had finished a meal- and the dining room was large enough for you not to have to share a table.Entertainment left a lot to be desired, but as we entertain ourselves, this wasn't a problem .The Animacion team worked hard to keep the children entertained throughout the day with their own club and on an evening before the adult entertainment started. I must agree with contributor Alan R with his comment that Peter N Kay were great company ( thanks Alan !) Which reminds me BEWARE !! The hotel Gin is VERY strong and poured in large measures ! We arrived here expecting the the worst and thoroughly enjoyed EVERY minute of it .We had no complaints whatsoever and would recommend this hotel and its staff to anyone thinking of booking for autumn or next Summer .Oh yes ..the 'Mozzies'.They made a feast of my wife and i but i don't think they belonged to the hotel .......they were not wearing lime Green wristbands !!!

Room Tip: We had 508 on top floor over the front of hotel overlooking mountains - very good view. But as live e...

Stayed here for 2 weeks in August.

Good points - our room was spotless, plenty of wardrobe space, if our towels had not been changed we simply requested clean ones, no problem. Reception staff very helpful and friendly, as were bar staff. No problems getting a sunbed at any time of day, although a lot were broken but with persistence you could fix yourself. Pool area very clean. Help yourself to soft drinks, slushes, hot drinks so no waiting at bar.

Bad points - food was awful. A lot of food was not labelled so wasn't sure what it was, but didn't look appetizing anyway to be honest. My husband had the meat which he couldn't chew. The food was lukewarm. There was no kids menu so the kids just brought in food from the snack bar (burgers, hot dogs, chips, etc). This was also lukewarm. Basically I just survived on pasta and bread rolls for the week and I am not fussy. One day there was cold rice which was with the salad food and when I took a bite it was still frozen. Also tablecloths were filthy, still had the same stains on over the 2 week period. The toilets next to reception smelled absolutely horrible. You had to hold your breath while you went in there. Disgusting. The same music in the bar was played over and over again, it could drive you mad. Would not go back again.

Sept 4-11 here. Clean tidy hotel. Rooms serviced daily. Food attractively displayed - lots of salad varieties and various meats - Yorks pud and roast beef, veal, pork, steak and kidney pie, rabbit with plums, chicken pie, lancashire hotpot etc. Good variety of fish. Always fresh pasta with separate sauce available. Consistently good chips! It appears the Spanish like their deserts goey and very brightly coloured - flourescent yellow, shocking red and dazzling green. Pineapple tart v good, fresh fruit always available and tinned pears or peaches. Pour yourself beer and soft drinks fruit juices but spirits VERY generously served at the bar. Hot drinks also from machines in the bar after lunch and dinner. Why do the Spanish chill their red wine ? Plenty of seating at or around the pool on beds or chairs at tables. Sunbeds very well used but OK. Had many an enjoyable evening drinking with Peter N Kay - v good company. Staff friendly and helpful. Tables rapidly cleared and bins emptied daily round pool etc.
Hotel very close to superb beach and convenient bus stops to go to Can Pickafort(1.5E),Porto Alcudia and old Alcudia(magnificent church - 1.5E) or Porto Pollensa(1.75E) with another super beach. Hotel also close to lots of restaurants and bars but who needs those when its all inclusive here !!!
Entertainment different and now wil be missing star Alvin. Shame.
Great value for money.

just returned from the continental park hotel, first impressions were ok , we were allocated a room on the first floor overlooking the pool on entering the room it had a real musty smell to it and looked really tired dark and dingy, in the week there the linen was never changed and the threadbare towels only twice, the dining was a complete joke the food terrible and some of the meats were not even cooked properly my partner was ill for 4 days after eating here so we ate out after this episode the tablecloths were also filthy, the drinks also poor the wine undrinkable, the only good points of this hotel was the entertainment staff they were on the go all day and evening, the bar staff too very pleasant . on reflection you get what you pay for but this is a definite no no look elsewhere.

Room Tip: book one at another hotel.

Arrived here on the 20th August for a week, we had a great holiday minus the rain and thunderstorms which were a nightmare!!

Hotel is well situated for the beach, bars etc. When we booked we were informed it was in Alcudia - its not!! Its in a quieter resort but we still had fun. Its close to the beach which is lovely.

We were all inclusive and made good use of the drinks by the pool, unlimited soft drinks, tea/coffee/water, beer, wine, sangria and slush is all self service. The bar gives the spirits which are generous measures. Bar staff lovely and attentive. The bar food during the day was the same most days (Burgers, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, chicken burgers, salad, pasta, onion rings, chips etc) which is fine for a snack occasionally. The food in the restaurant we just went to for dinner twice - first night it was awul and i had some chips, then fruit and ice cream. We tried it again another night near end holiday as raining and it was lovely so its a hit or a miss im guessing (great selection this night), breakfast we had 3 times was lovely and plentiful.

Overall id return to this hotel, yes there are stains on the floor but people are running around with slush, ice cream, drinks etc so its to be expected. Rooms were cleaned daily and towels every two days. However the walls were a bit thin and you could hear everything but i still slept well and im a light sleeper.
