We booked a self catering apartment in mid October, but after a very poor meal at the cafe over the road on the first night, we upgraded to half board. This was a great decision as the kitchen facilities in the apartment were quite poor, but the breakfasts and dinners at this resort are absolutely incredible. The food was wonderful and they clearly work very hard to keep up a very high standard.

The staff were friendly and helpful mostly, although they don't always go out of their way like at some other places. I was impressed with how quickly and easily they were constantly switching between Spanish, German and French though. Marga, on the desk was especially friendly and very nice with the children.

I thought the staff in the restaurant concentrated a lot more on efficiency than friendliness and I was afraid to stand up to get a dessert as, if the table was unoccupied for a few seconds, they would clear away the drinks you'd just paid for.

The pool was nice, but was a bit too cold for me and perhaps could have had a couple of features for the many children there. There was pony riding at the hotel twice a week or over the road every evening and there was a small play area.

Most of the guests spoke German, which made no difference to us, but if you want to leave your children in the play-club, that will be the main language used. We wanted to be with our kids, so it was fine for us. I know there's the old complaints of towels on sunbeds, but there were loads free at this time of year and there was also a sign saying beds couldn't be reserved, so I would've just moved a towel if it came to that.

The beach was clean and the water warm, the shops were close by and handy, there are several places to eat if you want to be away from the hotel. The main town is easily reachable by bus for just over a euro.

Everything was very clean and of good quality. There was also a doctor there twice a day, who cost a fortune, but was helpful.

Room Tip: Go half board or all inclusive, you won't find a better place to eat and the food was one of the...

A really good aparthotel for parents, children and grandparents. Facilities, staff, food and accomodation really top class.
That is all that needs to be said.

This was our 4th time back, we always e-mail before hand with request for block overlooking the pool but upper floor. We were given ground floor right on top of the speakers which was v noisy for our little girl. I eventually spoke to the reception manager who was exceptionally rude and when I told him very calmly I didn't like the way he was speaking to me it made no difference. As a family that have our own business, we always value our repeat customers but just feel they weren't bothered at all. We were told the hotel was full but as I had given an e-mail 3 weeks prior which this gentlemen acknowledged receiving then I do not understand how a very general request could not be met. An apology before I left of this mans aggressive behaviour was all it needed but it didn't happen and next year we will give the hotel a miss

Good but a couple of things meant it was not excellent.
Did not mind at all that the majority of people there were German but the beach towels on the unused (for most of the day) sun loungers did start to annoy quite a bit, as we could not get any to even sit on for a brief time (2 young children, so did not need them for long!).
We were put in a room right by the outdoor speakers for the night time entertainment, asked to move when we arrived but was told hotel full. One night it was so loud I had to complain, just to be told the hotel is an entertainment hotel. With 2 kids trying to sleep and some bad music blaring out at 11pm though, this was not our idea of entertainment.
That said we had a great time here, cannot fault the cleanliness of the facilities and friendly staff. Especially Bogna who works in the kids club, she works all hours making sure the kids have a great time.

Room Tip: If you do not like noise get a room away from the pool, as at night they have loud entertainment

This hotel is good, clean with good food, beach very near and beautiful. Staff polite . Pool adequate. For us there were 2 bad points, one is that Playa de Muro is far from evreywhere and taxis are expensive, and second that the kids clubs were in german, in fact the hotel is full of german tourists, it is not that we care much, but out litle one missed to join the rest of the kids.

We stayed at this hotel for two weeks, and overall had a fantastic time. Some useful things to build on previous reviews:
+ This hotel has 300 apartments which are all the same spread across 10 blocks; for the length of time we were there only 3 of those apartments were occupied by British families as far as we could ascertain - 99% of guest there are of German nationality, and we were reliably informed by the staff that this is the case all season long. We were aware of this before we went and it didn't bother us one bit as neither of our children were doing the kids clubs, but if you want your children to participate in the activities and they can't speak German, consider yourself forewarned!
+ We were half board, but the all inclusive option didn't look too bad - the breakfast and evening meal options were varied and plentiful, but again, geared to German cuisine and tastes. Lots of fresh fruit, veg and various meat and fish options each night, and extremely diligent staff who obviously work extremely hard
+ The pool is very good - the beach just outside the hotel was great also, but we have two four year olds who didn't want to leave the pool!
+ If you can, request either apartment block 5 or 9 - they are furthest away from the evening entertainment so if you have little ones, they will not be disturbed by the later entertainment. Also, whilst we were there, there were two beach parties slightly further up with very loud outdoor music until 2 in the morning which guests on the other side of the complex struggled with!
+ There is a gym, but it's not well equipped - one dodgy treadmill, a step machine and lots of spinning bikes and a couple of machine weights, but that's about it - I thought from the photos it looked better equipped than that so again, consider yourself pre-warned if you do fancy a workout during the holiday!
+ There are no English kids channels on the TV so come armed with a DVD player if you have children that you will need to entertain in the room at any point! You can hire a DVD player if you just want to bring films with you
+ There is free wifi that works in the reception area but no where else in the hotel complex
+ The kitchenette has a fridge freezer, two burner hob, sink and utensils but no kettle
+ The beds were fine for the kids, but we were on the sofa beds in the lounge area so we could have an evening once they went to sleep - not the best nights sleep in the world, and really started to get seriously uncomfortable in the second week!
+ Nearly everyone staying at the hotel were families with young children, so the pool was hectic! If you don't have children, I would suggest there are more relaxing places in Mallorca you could stay...

The real highlight of this hotel is the cleanliness, the diligence and quality of the staff and the pool facilities. The food is fine unless you have a particularly refined palette and you're never short of choice. Like I said earlier, providing you're not bothered by the dominance of German folk in the hotel, it's a great choice. Certainly rivals one of the Iberostar's we stayed at a few years ago further up towards the port.

Room Tip: Apartment block 5 or 9 are the best choice
