Just returned from a fantastic 10 night All Inclusive stay at the Alcudia Park. There was 6 in our party including 2 children aged 7 and 3.
Upon arrival there had been a miss understanding regards rooms but I think this was mainly down to the travel agent. The reception staff were very helpfull and we quickly moved rooms the following day.
The hotel was very clean and the gardens spotless. Food was good and there was alot of choice, however there is only 1 buffett style restaurant to choose from which was ok but did get very busy and trying to find a big enough table to sit us all was difficult. There is a pool/snack bar serving lunch and allthough we didnt encounter any problems some families we spoke to did say the food was either under cooked or still frozen.
I would say that the hotel mainly caters for familys with children with lots of activities like the kids clubs and mini disco at night. Even the main entertainment/disco finished at 22.15. Great if you want to get the kids to bed, not so good if you want to party the night away.
We did find an indoor bar (I believe they call it the Piano Bar) but this was very quite and little amosphere.
Something that the Rep and Reception failed to tell us was that bottled water is available from reception for All Inclusive guests. We spoke to a few people who had been buying it from the supermarket next door.
The animation team were very friendly and we found that you could have a good laugh with them. Archery, Rifle and Pistol shooting plus Beach Volley ball were all provided by the team, then they worked very hard putting on a show at the night time.
The hotel is approx 2 miles from Alcudia and we found it a little too far to walk with small children so would recomend jumping on a bus.
While we were there some of the rooms were having the patio doors and windows replaced with more modern style, I would say that the rooms were in need of a make over and did look a little dated.

We came back from a 7 day holiday at the beginning of this month after an excellent holiday. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for anyone without children but if you are a family you couldn't do much better.
We stayed in one of the one bed apartments. It wasn't big and fancy but it was very clean and served its purpose well. The maid came in every day and made a noticeable difference, even down to folding our children's pajamas and putting their teddy bears straight. The children slept in the bedroom and we slept on the pull out settee - we had been slightly concerned about this but it was surprisingly comfortable. There are also black out curtains at the windows so you're not woken at the crack of dawn by bright sunlight. The shower was excellent, with great water pressure.
The staff in all areas of the hotel couldn't do more for you. Any question or query was answered without hesitation and always in a friendly yet professional manner. They are also good with the children. We didn't put our children in the kids club but the children we saw who were in it seemed to be having a brilliant time.
We stayed on an all inclusive basis and had a fantastic choice of food, all of which was well cooked. There was a wide variety of food and we were happy to see the focus was not on junk food. There was lots of fruit, salad, vegetables, pastas, rice, meat. There were chips and pizza etc but it was put in a corner rather being at the front as the main choice.
We spent most of the time in the day on the beach which is literally down a few steps from the hotel snack bar. Lovely clean golden sand and shallow water. We also enjoyed the volleyball games the staff organised twice a day. The pool was also clean and well kept, if a little on the cold side but I'd imagine as the year goes on it would get much warmer. The toilets by the pool were well maintained and cleaned regularly.
Overall we had a fabulous week, even though 2 of our days were not the best weather. We would recommend this hotel and will definitely visit again.

We stayed at the Iberostar Alcudia Park for 11 nights all inclusive at the end of May - there were 8 of us in the group - me, my husband, children aged 7 and 3 and both sets of grandparents.

First impressions weren't good. It was pouring with rain, check in was friendly but very slow and my parents room had broken patio doors which didn't lock and could be opened from the outside. We unpacked and went for dinner as soon as the restaurant opened at 6pm. As did EVERYONE else staying in the hotel. It was chaos, we couldn't get a seat, big queues for food and we wondered what we had let ourselves in for.

Next morning things improved... The rain had stopped, my parents were given a free safe until they could be moved to an upgraded room and the restaurant wasn't so busy.

The hotel has a fantastic location, right on a beautiful sandy beach with shallow turquoise waters, perfect for the kids. There isn't a promenade so literally about 10 steps takes you down from the hotel to the beach. The beds on the beach were quite pricy at over 10 Euros for 2 plus parasol so we just pitched our towels on the sand while the kids played. The resort itself is small and quiet with just a few shops and bars but there was so much going on in the hotel you didn't need any more.

I had been in 2 minds about going All Inclusive with the kids and we aren't big drinkers but I have to say it was fantastic. Food was great, drinks, slushes, ice creams all day. When it was between meals there were sandwiches, toasties, cakes so we didn't need to worry about the kids not eating lunch then being hungry before dinner. There was wine and beer with meals as well as all the soft drinks. You could even get free bottled water for the room or packed lunches for going out, which often isn't included in other all inclusives. The waiters were great and worked so hard. Our only complaints in the restaurant were that there was no head waiter to show you to a table, so couples sat on tables for 4, families of 4 sat on tables for 6 etc etc so our family of 8 wandered round aimlessly looking for a table while people walked in behind with no system for finding people tables. They also didn't enforce the no shorts dress code at dinner so some people looked like they had come straight from the beach. Most other 4 star hotels have both of these.

The entertainment team were also fantastic and worked so hard from running day time activities like archery and shooting, kids club, mini disco and performing the evening show at least every other night. My 3 year old wasn't officially old enough for the kids club but she was allowed to do everything with them as long as I stayed and they even gave her a special certificate one night as she took part in all the medal games but was never going to win against all the 7 year olds. Both kids loved it and dropped in throughout the holiday. It was great listening to Elizabeth who ran the club switching between English, German, Spanish and French talking to the kids. We were there over the May half term and there were loads of English there and my kids made lots of friends easily. I probably wouldn't recommend the hotel during school holidays if you don't have kids though as it was busy, noisy and full of kids!

The pool area was quite well thought out - There was a baby pool, a "fun" part of the main pool where lilos and water pistols were allowed and a "non fun" part for swimming. We didn't manage to get into the pool past our knees as it was freezing (even the indoor heated one was cold) but the sea was a bit warmer. There wasn't a shortage of sunbeds but a lack of spare space to put them on and we found beds by the pool were reserved by 8am, often by people who then spent most of the day on the beach. The lifeguard did a good job policing the pools but he could've enforced the no reserving bed rule which was just ignored by everyone.

Our room was a 1 bedroom apartment with separate living/kitchen area. Other people said they thought the deco was tired, I thought it was fine. Ok it wasn't ultra modern and we had a small old TV with only 2 or 3 English channels but we weren't there to stay in and watch the TV. My biggest criticism of the room was the lack of storage space. We ended up with clothes stored in the TV unit (and the grandparents in a studio room even put clothes in the kitchen cupboards). We were in block 1 which was one of the blocks closest to the sea (I guess block 5 is the other one nearest the sea as the 5 blocks are in a U shape). Block 1 had the outside entertainment beside it so best avoid if you have really small kids and plan to get some sleep before 10.30pm when it finishes.

Given that the weather wasn't great while we were there, we did get out and about more than we normally might have. Alcudia Old town and Alcudia Port were both worth a visit. It cost 1.50 Euro on the bus to the Old town where we walked the walls and you could visit a bull ring, church and some ruins. We then got a taxi down to the port area for 5 Euros (as the bus was full) and looked at the boats, shops etc before getting the bus back to the hotel.
We also went to Puerto Pollenca by bus which cost 1.75 Euro but I thought it was a bit run down - Alcudia was nicer if you only want to go out once.
We didn't want to go to the caves of Drach as it was a bit far for the kids but I had read on Tripadvisor that there were some closer caves (Coves de Campenet) so we went there instead. It didn't turn out to be much cheaper than the Caves of Drach as no one at the hotel knew of any buses going there so we paid 25 Euro each way in a taxi plus the 13.50 each entrance fee (half price for kids under 10) but they were still quite impressive and my 7 year old who had never been to any caves before was fascinated. The guide was very knowledgeable, my only criticism would be that he was quite nasty to people who tried to take photos in the caves for no obvious reason other than he probably wanted to sell his own postcards/guidebooks instead.
As with most resorts there was a little road train for 3-4 Euros. It took an hour and to be honest was just a tour of the hotels and backstreets of the resort. The kids enjoyed it for about 40 mins.
The "boys" also found a nice little inlet 20 mins walk south of the hotel where they went fishing and my son was very pleased with himself when he caught a fish all on his own.

All in all we had a great holiday but I wouldn't rush back to the Balearics in May after the weather we had. Would I go back to the Alcudia Park? Probably not - not that it wasn't great, just the world is a big place and there are plenty other places to go. I'd certainly give Iberostar another go elsewhere though.

First off the reception staff are amazing, especially Benjamin, big smiles and humor is always a good start, very helpful, informative and genuine. The hotel itself looks a little dated but the staff work tirelessly to keep it pristine, the entertainment so far is good as is the food, I will update this review as the week goes on.

Returned after a 14 night stay at alcudia park, yet again was not disappointed, this was our second year staying here and was an excellent holiday even with our party of 13 we were dealt the fantastic service again when checking in and throughout or stay were always on had. The management at this hotel are on patrol thought the day ensuring all areas are keep to the very high standard they expect which again excellent service. The animation team are without a doubt a credit to iberostar, they work from early morning until very late at night. Each one of the team are very friendly and the kids loved being part of the mini club, with us parents feeling they were safe at all times. Our maid was the best again, everyday our apartment was spotless and made up to a very high standard, some of the reviews say the rooms are tired, yeah maybe but they are clean and that's what matters as you spend very little time in them, we had the same room location again this year which was fab looking on to the side street with views of the play park and beach. The food, oh my this again was 5* after 2 weeks we were struggling to keep up and always a huge variety of choice, the kids experienced new food this year and loved the calamari. I can't wait to book up again for next year :)
